Imagine Penny, Grant Hill, T-Mac and D-Rose never getting hurt. Your top 10 would be way different.
Penny, Shaq, H. Grant, and D. Scott. as teammates with a little time and a bench would have been a whole problem for the entire NBA.

Penny was unstoppable, court vision, passing, shooting, and could leap and dunk, and post up with ease with long arms and post game was top shelf
Penny had no weakness
NBA Live 96 on Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis with that Orlando/Houston finals pic rules but NBA Live 95 is the OG and that Knicks/Houston pic is to me even better with Starks heading to the hoop. What an era to be a Basketball fan. NBA Inside Stuff, NBA on NBC, NBA on NBC theme song, Starter Jackets, NBA Live, NBA Jam, hip hop music when it was still good.
Penny was ahead of his time - it was rare to see such an athletic - explosive - mad hops point guard - he was so fun to watch on the Magic!
With all the medical advancements today he'd be able to continue on after his injury too. He'd thrive today more than back then. That 6'7 PG spot even now is taller than most plus his step back. Mix of many in one
Penny was perhaps my favorite non-Knick back in the 90's. I always found it to be a shame that careers didn't become all-time greats because of injuries (Grant Hill and of course Penny). They still made themselves a great career, but man, what could've been.
Knicks fan from back in day too and same here. Ewing my all time fav but Penny right up there. If I wasn't the Knicks in NBA Jam or NBA Live I was picking Magic

Back in the day, people OFTEN said Bron was a mix of Magic and Jordan. Had the size and creative pass first nature of Magic COMBINED with the freak athletic ability and dominant scoring of Jordan. BUT Penny was the FIRST GUY who was like a mix of Magic and Michael. Penny wasn't quite as tall as Magic. But he was still a 6'7 supersized PG. And Penny was a creative pass first type of PG. BUT he also had the freak athletic ability and great scoring ability. So that's the Jordan in him.
Even when you look at Penny's scoring skillset, we saw Jordan type elements. After Penny, G Hill was another player who getting the "Magic-Michael" combo talk as well. And RIGHTFULLY SO! Bron, Penny, and G Hill ALL had their own type of stamp on the Magic-MJ combination.
So if Penny never got hurt, I think he would go down as a top 5 GOAT PG ever. But to rise about that level, he would have needed to win rings. BUT In terms of peak-prime status as player in general, he could have ARGUABLY been the best PG of all time if he never got hurt! We never saw how good Penny Hardaway would have gotten as time went on.
As good as Penny was, I can't say he was a better player than peak Magic. BUT if Penny never got hurt and hit his TRUE PEAK he was destined for, I say he would have been BETTER THAN MAGIC! BUT nonetheless when Penny was healthy, he was the clear-cut 2nd best guard in the league behind Jordan. And TOTALLY REDEFINED the PG position!
Even when you look at ALL THE PG's after him (not a point forward like G Hill or Bron), you could make the case HE'S THE most naturally gifted PG ever. By that I mean his size, scoring ability, overall scoring skillset, handles, passing ability, and freak athletic ability as a package. Magic didn't have Penny's athletic ability or scoring skillet. And Penny was a better defender than Magic. And most of the other legendary PG's are much shorter in height and weren't as athletic.
Penny was a mixture of Magic Johnson, and Scottie Pippen IMO
Penny had four great seasons but he also had a good year when he was on the Suns averaging 17.5, 5 and 5 post injury. He had high IQ in the game.

@@fizzyfuzz5878 He wasn’t going to get anybody as good as prime Shaq in free agency. His injuries started to happen to right after Shaq left because he was trying to do too much. Shaq admitted that he should’ve stayed in Orlando but him and Penny was young and had huge egos!
