I started getting into basketball shortly before Rose got injured. I was only 10 at the time and I didn’t realize how close we could’ve been to winning a championship. It breaks my heart as a Bulls fan to know this and I hope Rose is able to win at least one championship with any team before he retires, he deserves it

Being from Chicago, IL I can tell you that we have some of the hardest heart breaks. Bears losing to the colts and losing the championship, Roses many injuries that robbed us of our championship, and don’t even get me started on those cubbies before they won it after so many drives only to lose. If it wasn’t for the Hawks i would have given up. Yes the Windy City has some of the all time greats but don’t think its fans don’t put up with heart break and disappointment.
At least you guys had your 90s bulls with MJ, but even that didn't truly reach its full potential. Who knows what could have happened had MJ not retired for two years, and if Krause didn't swallow his pride and break up the bulls in 98.
Even outside of sports, you have chicagos own Kayne West falling from grace after his mom's passing and the rise of drill rap further exploding the gang warfare in the south leading to the death of many black youth.
Chicago has definitely had a colourful history with the roaring 20s with Al-Capone to being a key state in the civil rights movement. And also being the birthplace of Dwayne Wade and Michelle Obama and presumably others.

That's exactly what these what-if scenarios are. I assume he ran through multiple sins and determined these were the possible outcomes. The major flaw of this series is they never account for the massive egos NBA players carry with them. We know LMA left Portland because he didn't want to play 2nd fiddle to Lillard. Why would he leave to do the same thing with Rose? We also know as Butler improved his game his ego grew with it. Would he be comfortable being the 2nd or 3rd option in Chicago? Also Whiteside caught the got paid don't care attitude this season so would he even go to Chicago in the 1st place? Also LeBron would butt heads with Stevens more than he did with Spoelstra so would that even work out in Boston? Not to mention IT going at it with LeBron like he did with Cleveland but worse. I know Mike can't do that with 2k simulations and i still appreciate the series but there's always that persistent issue with them

I was 12 when Derrick rose won that MVP and being in the Chicagoland area, the whole city was behind this guy and then the injury was obviously devastating to the city. The way Derrick rose lands and outs all his weight on his knee is the main reason the injuries to the knee and ankle constantly kept on occurring. He has gotten better, but used to be horrible at limiting the pressure put on his acl when landing after a dunk, layup, and jumpshot.
