  • In this video, we explain the main differences between the 5.0 V10 used in the original Lamborghini Gallardo and the 5.2 V10 used in the later LP versions, as well as the Huracan and R8 V10. We then go onto talk about how we tune these engines, including forged internals, sleeved blocks and much more.
    We also tell you why you should ALWAYS remove the original cats from a 5.0 Gallardo!

    Regarding crank design would it be possible to put an S6 5.2 crank (with the split pin design) into a 5.2 Lamborghini engine to get the sound?

    I find the idea of using an 18 degree offset crank with even firing order and or a common crank with an odd firing order a really strange solution to get around the 90 degree V10 bank angle when you could have just gone with a 72 degree V angle and used a common crank with even firing.
    I know the 90 degree bank angle negates the need for balance shafts and reduces the rotational mass but Toyota managed to make it work in the Lexus LFA no worries.
    Odd choice from Audi, I'd love to know why. But they also have a ridiculously high piston speed too due to the long stroke and high rev limit, I'm pretty convinced the engine designer who signed off on this engine was smoking crack. 😂

    I'm researching the Audi/Lambo V10 engines as I'm about to take delivery of an S8 V10 5.2 lump for an engine conversion. From what I've read, it has an offset pin crankshaft similar to the 5.0 Lambo engine... but the wider bore spacing (90mm)? Is the firing order the same as the R8 V10 or the Lambo 5.0? How does the S8 (BSM) V10 compare to the others please? I'd like to fit Huracan exhaust manifolds (I know that the flanges are different so would need to mod those) to help with breathing and to get that scream. Any tips please? Thanks in advance. Great video and workmanship.

      The s8 iring order is different from both 5.0 & 5.2 v10 three firing order of s8 is zigzag 1,6,2,7,3,8,4,9,5,10 but it sounds closer to the. 5.0 Gallardo

    Instead of Lamborghini obtaining a V10 engine from Audi, it manufactures itself and Audi will do the same, it will not obtain such an engine from Lamborghini, but will produce a V10 engine itself, as Koenigsegg thought of producing an engine himself, and it is also a genius idea to do this instead of obtaining an engine from another manufacturer, for example Ford, and that, only the volume of the engine or the injectors And that exactly the same.

    • @REPerformanceUK
      @REPerformanceUK  Před 3 měsíci +1

      The 5.2 engine in the Gallardo and Huracan is made by Audi! 👍🏼

    • @ahimeirhadad4836
      @ahimeirhadad4836 Před 3 měsíci

      @@REPerformanceUK You are right, but I didn't think it turned out different, but two volumes in a Lamborghini car and one volume Audi, it turns out there is a difference, the V10 5.0 engine is produced by Lamborghini and the 5.2 is produced by Audi. That's why Lamborghini could think about its engine volume as well as Audi and produce its own engines like BMW instead of Lamborghini getting an engine from Audi or Audi getting from Lamborghini and that's how it was equal, you know like BMW it also produced its own V10 5.0 engine like Lamborghini's.
