I always assumed all of these people used canned laughter since everyone is always well behaved 100% of the time and they all start and stop laughing at the same time. Doesn't matter if its a conservative or liberal or whatever, no one ever causes trouble or just keeps laughing, heckles or taunts or gets triggered or...well...anything.

I mean I know it's a joke but the Iron Giant, Pitch Black, and Guardians of the Galaxy are all good movies and the F&F movies are at least a hell of a lot of fun...an actor could do worse and plenty of "prestige" actors have. A boring, pretentious movie that thinks it's about something important is worse than a stupid, fun one that knows what it is. (not that VD needs me to defend him)
I really, really liked Pitch Black. The whole mood and the optics were wonderful, the monsters were well-designed and scary ... lovely work. Oh, and the sequel was very weird ( you had to reduce that wonderfully tough girl into a super model with a crush on Riddick? Really?) but worth it for that wonderful ending shot, and that bloody amazing Lady McBeth they had snaking around.
And I think Tom Hanks definitely started out with fun movies that knew what they were, until stuff like "Forrest Gump" catapulted him to dramatic actor status.
But honestly: he's simply a very, very good and versatile actor, and it's such a luxury to have pure entertainment like Sleepless in Seattle made with first class actors.

I guess I shouldn't care one way or the other. I mean it *is* your show and you can present it any way you see fit. But as for me - if that's the case - I feel "short-changed".

It's been bugging me for a bit here, and I tried to stay quiet, but that debt forgiveness is why Republicans will win the House and Senate. You can't spend $400 billion on only people who have debt from college, that's a very small sliver of the population. It's a noble goal to do it, but increasing grants would have made a bigger impact the number of people who attended college and wouldn't have alienated many just for that one policy while we fight corporate price gouging the right calls inflation.
Again that one policy is what will lose DC for the dems, I hope $10k was worth handing the country back to the delusional nutjobs in Trumps wake.
If you think that people with student debt are such a small slice of the population, why would increasing grants for the same demographic make a bigger impact?
Besides, the program is estimated to affect 42 million US americans; that's more than 10% - how is that "a very small sliver" ?
And absolutely everything that Biden suggests can and will alienate Republicans, because they've been trained to believe that anything that supports people who actually _need_ support is woke marxist socialism or some such. Well, up to the point where _they_ are in need, see DeSantis and his magnanimous willingness to put aside his "help from the federal government is _put it on the credit card_ mentality !!!" .
