  • How can an Amazon FBA business with $45 MILLION in Amazon sales and 4 YEARS of experience selling on Amazon no longer be making a profit? If you are starting an Amazon FBA business in 2024, you MUST watch this video!
Amazon sellers face a myriad of different fees from Amazon, these include referral fees, fulfilment fees, storage fees, returns and pay per click advertising. For many sellers, they are paying more than ever to Amazon with some sellers seeing over 60% of each sale going to Amazon.
These ever increasing fees mean it is more important than ever that new sellers pick profitable products. I recommend a minimum profit margin of 30% and a minimum ROI (return on investment) of 80%, this should provide enough wiggle room to cover additional fees and sponsored ads and still leave the seller with a decent profit.
The simple truth is that almost anyone can sell on Amazon, but making a profit from selling on Amazon is a much greater challenge. It is vital that Amazon sellers are aware of product dimensions, weight and pricing tiers so they can reduce potential fees as much as possible.
If you are starting Amazon private label you should never be tempted to force a product to work, if the margin and ROI don't meet the minimum requirements then move on to the next opportunity.
Amazon FBA beginners often overlook profit margins and ROI as it can be tricky to calculate all the exact figures. Amazon has a profit calculator that makes this a lot easier:

With Amazon taking such a large percentage of revenue, I can understand why some people think Amazon FBA is a scam. You may have thoughts like "Is Amazon FBA Dead" or "Is Amazon FBA Still Worth It?", but it's important to remember that millions of sellers are still making money on Amazon and the opportunity for new sellers is still HUGE!

Hi Darren, Ive been watching your videos and had a question, would it be viable to dropship for a short period and once I know the product is selling ok, then bulk order in for amazon FBA?

Calculate, calculate, calculate ... before starting try to make a simulation in a spreadsheet (as pessimistic as possible and rounding all costs up and revenue down, adding a margin for problems - not if but when)

Thanks Great video, quick question, is it not good to temporarily use a debit card to pay off some balance on Amazon let’s say if your working on getting a credit card back, or is this fine perhaps

The Amazon fees are too high and the competition from Temu grows, so I think I am out thanks.
