1.according to stats, Pan has biggest chance if he pulls it together (perfect performance)
2.with more front half speed, Chalmers might get that win cuz his back half rocks
3.just a lil bit of luck and stronger mentality, popovici can hold off Chalmers, chase down Pan and get that gold
4.if these 3 dudes overswim the front half and fades in the back half, Alexy might snitch the win.
I would never bet on David, i think the guy has some serious mentality problems. Pan or Alexy are favourites in my eyes, although i am huge fan of Kyle and i will cheer for him for sure, although i don't know if he is in good shape atm to challenge for a medal.

Well about the wrist bend you pointed out in Caleb, but the other swimmers use it also. I used to think this was what was meant by 'catch'. The arm during the pull makes a 180 degree arc. The power part of the pull is from about 45 degrees to 135 degrees. In the set up part of the pull, which is how you get to the power part of the pull, if your wrist is not bent, you get an elevated body and no forward propulsion. While the wrist bend provides minimal forward propulsion, if your wrist is not bent, you get zero propulsion during the set up phase of the pull.
it between popivici ans phan , they both are the only who went sub 47 this year and i think chalmers is 3rd , for the 200 i think also pop and phan with pop having a slight advantage

My personal prediction :
Male : finalists: Popovici, Pan, Giuliano, Alexy, Chalmers, Grousset, Richards, Hwang Soon Woo. Possible outsiders : Miressi, Barna, Nemeth.
Popovici is the main favourite followed by Pan Zhanle. Bronze open to Giuliano, Alexy, Grousset and Chalmers.
Female : podium : MOC, Steenbergen and Haughey (40-30-30%). Potential outsiders ; Jack and Douglass.
I believe Shayna Jack is not swimming 100 free this year 😢

@@Hideothi-nakata buddy, Caeleb lost to his younger American teammates in the 100m freestyle Olympic qualifiers so he won't be competing in the 100m freestyle in Paris. David and Pan had improved and the latter now holds the World Record in the 100m freestyle, and both these young guns are still improving. Hence, your comment doesn't really hold water.
Popovici lacks mentality in my mind. I'll rather bet on Pan or Alexy, although i will cheer for King Kyle for sure.

Why are you critisicing Dressels technique. Do you have olympic gold medals no. Dp you have world records no. So be quiet
Because he is a swimming coach, and he is also an excellent swimmer. Just because Dressel is the fastest in certain events and has won gold medals, doesn't necessarily make him the most perfect swimmer. His technique obviously works for him, but it won't for most other swimmers. Fares is actually teaching the best methods ,especially the part about evf and the catch
