- Mulberry tree not growing in a pot no matter what you do?. There is a reason for that and it's due to its tap root system. Most trees with tap roots do poorly in containers long term. If you need your mulberry tree to grow massive in a container, there is only one way to get it to grow.

Blessed are those who plant trees especially mulberry trees 👍🇬🇧Thanks from Nature ❕
I Love your customer service And honesty 👍👏
Thanks for the video. Very interesting to see how huge that tap root was. I have a mulberry cutting in a pot for now that will go in my garden and I have other cuttings that may stay in pots, depending on how much time I have to get them situated in safe area away from water pipes. They certainly are vigorous trees.
awesome information; thank you for being honest
Hi. I have to say your content is superb, so much great informations! Thx
Keep up with the awesome work 👌👍🌳
Thanks for the video, I just brought my Pakistani mulberry tree
Good growing tips. Thank you.
Goood advice. Thanks for info.
That’s why we support small veteran owned business in Queen Creek. Thanks Alan
thank you buddy
Thank you for the video. Do you know how low the temperature could Pakistan mulberry tolerate in the winter?
Will that tap root continue to grow into the ground again in that 15 gallon container? If a customer buys the 15 gallon, then plants it into the ground, with the tree continue to grow the tap root and be as stable as the small tree.
I used to cycle to work through a park, and there were heaps of mulberry trees growing along the creek. I took some cuttings and grew 2 plants. It was weird. When i had them in these fairly big pots they grew impressively fast. Never seen any other cutting grow like that before. Finally i figured they were too big for the pots so i planted them in the backyard... and the growth seemed to stop. I would have assumed that given the free reign to go wild with their roots, they would have exploded based on how fast they grew in the confined pots. It maybe that where i planted them isnt getting enough sun. Only thing i can think of.
It's normal for most trees to stop growing once planted. Your tree will resume growing once fully rooted in ground. This process depending on ambient temperatures can take 6 months to over a year.
Question? After cutting the mulberry taproot from the pot. Will the taproot grow a new tree.
Grew up in Tucson, we had a huge pakistan mulberry tree in the front yard.. unfortunately, as a kid, didnt know the berries were edible!! (arugh!) It was a bird's Heaven! it was a fun climbing tree tho.. (could hide up there from the school truant officer when I ditched school ( lol) Loved this tree! There was some disease that killed many mulberry trees and we lost ours. Want another. Hope that issue/disease is far gone.
Just received a Pakistan Mulberry baby from a neighbor as a gift. What are the best secrets to keep it growing in Texas?
I am in the tropics how to tell if the mulberry goes dormant as no winter here just monsoonal systems
Sir Can prune mulberry in winter?
Can I keep a mulberry in 32 gallon forever? I have a pool in my yard and my house 15 feet from pakistan mullbery and 15 from pool don't want roots to damage my house
I brought a super tiny mulberry tree about 30 cm and it fruit in less than 3 years
Hi, is it safe to prune the roots if my location is hot all year? There is no winter to be dormant. I want to keep it in a container.
just prune the canopy as well.
Have you ever experienced the root in the ground continue to grow into another tree?
Would I need to dig all those in ground roots out?
I would love a Pakistani but don’t want in ground because of a pool nearby.
Would like to keep one in a pot, even if I only get less the 100 Mulberries.
Thank you for your time,
John
If you let it grow long enough (several years) yes it will grow a new tree. But the top part you pruned will most likely die. This is why I don't recommend letting them grow in the ground longer than a year before pruning.
I have many trees and never caredd
Hi! Thank you for explaning tap root system , does this grows in zone 5 (montreal CAN) if it does can I buy it delivered.
too cold :(
Might try a native black mulberry.
Hi,I just wandering are mulberry tree root can damage the drain if I grow the tree on top the garden lawn. Thanks
Yup
Am I understanding this right? You plant them in 5 gallon pots with the bottom removed, let the roots grow through into the ground then root prune?
If not, how did they root through the bottom of the container?
nope. Roots grow out the drainage holes. I don't want them to root thru the pot into the ground.
Do you prune the top to compensate for root loss?
yes about 25% just to be safe.
But a mulberry grown from a cutting doesn’t have a taproot right?? At least from the info I’ve seen on Mangoes, they reccomend grafting because the root system is stronger than an air layered root system. Are mulberries different? Thank you for the information!
they still develop thick deep roots.
will another mulberry grow from the tap root that's in the ground?
so far all i've seen is they die.
Can I grow Pakistani mulberry tree in the Northeast Georgia zone 7b ? Should I put the tree in the ground or pot? Thank you
7b maybe too cold. Watch the video for container growing.
Regards from Pakistan
Can I buy some Pakistanian tree starter from you?
Can I grow Mulberry in the container? Hopefully will get the berry 😊
short term yes, not long term.
May I ask. How long can a person keep a fruit tree in a container? I'm renting a house at the moment and I plan on buying myself land in a few years. I don't want to plant my stuff in the ground here. Can a tree last like maybe 3 years in a pot by pruning it?
I'll make a video about this topic by end of the week.
@@qctropicals awesome. Thanks for your response. Can't wait to see it. Thanks for sharing valuable information 😀 👍
@musaadfelton3909 As mentioned in the video, you can do something called root pruning if you intend to keep it for many years in a container. For most trees, every 2-3 years, during the dormant season, take them out of the pot and prune the roots back. Try to keep the tap root in tact because they might become stunted and end up being a mulberry bush if they don't have their tap root. Freshen the soil in the container and repot the tree. Root pruning is how bonsai trees are made. So technically you could keep it in a pot indefinitely if you don't intend to put it in the ground. However, mulberries are very vigorous growers so you might have to do this every year rather than every 2-3 years. Good luck.
@@LK-3000 Thank you for the detailed response. I appreciate it.
Gods help you if you put that pot on bare ground....mulberry roots are THE BEST at seeking nutrients!
How can I order a small Mulberry tree.what’s the price on the smallest size I can get ? And where can I order one? In eastern Washington state.
you can order from my website when available www.queencreektropicals.com
Do you have any cuttings available?
trees are awake already. We do cuttings during the winter only.
@@qctropicals ok, any 1 or 3 gallon trees?
@@Xray.71 will have 1 gallons in about 2 months.
@@qctropicals ok if you remember please let me know. In the meantime, I subbed and will be watching. Thanks!
How do I get a list of trees without tap roots?
I don't have a list but it'd probably be easier to simply research the tree you're interested in rather than looking thru a list.
Just say it man! Most people who wants fruit trees are impatient😅😂🤣
Shamus is gonna be ticked that you're telling people nursery secrets 😂😂
