Honestly the Lich had no reason to drop as many hard lines as he did on a children's cartoon. One of the most memorable villains in animation, imo.

its almost crazy how Cartoon Network had the balls to add such a disturbing villain design in a show made for kids, (well, older kids.)
I remember seeing the lich for the first time, and i was scared of this guy so much that i had a nightmare one Time. thats how good Adventure Time truly is.
I know, the flayed flesh around his lips, the black eyes, and then you’ve got the backstory and his skinning of Billy, freaky

I love this edit but I love the character even more
A meneacing evil that can not be stopped, only delayed
A strong character who seeks nothing but death and destruction which he is fully capable of
Not a broken hero
No sad backstory
Just a simple avatar of destruction
And the cut part from his speach:

So presonal yet being this personal with the main character doesn't make him look any weaker

He was only stopped once he killed everything and everyone in his universe
They ruined him in Fiona and Cake, made him more sympathetic, like why do you make creature that wants the death of everything sympathetic, it doesn’t make sense?
It was more so to feel a sense of sympathy but to only be reminded how hollow and empty he truly was. The very deity he worshiped just ignored him for the most part and whenever a version of the lich reached Golb they would eventually be sealed in a prison of the very flesh they were possesing. Golb truly was something Utterly Alien and unfeeling and that's why you feel sympathy for the Lich, he thought he understood his so called master but he couldn't have been farther from the truth. What makes it worse is it seems their is very little of Betty left with Golb it's like he's literally eating away at her being or Ego until theirs nothing left. Not even her soul@@user-fl3oc1bw3u
Apparently there's another 28 days later sequel coming soon. That outbreak always felt unnervingly realistic and the fact you didn't have to be directly bitten to get it always scared me as a kid.

when you grow up with this show, then get a bit older and realize the show's already set after a real world apocalypse, the Lich's entire speech just goes so damn hard.

I played Fallout New Vegas lately and for some reason the narrator of that game sounds a lot like the lich. Same vibe anyway. Loved the video, lich speech was timed beautifully

I'll always remember the first time Finn battles The Lich, and he just catches his punch and goes, "sshhh", BAM, explodes the gauntlet, which was getting built up as Finn's new buddy/Billy's old companion. just instantly squashes their attempt. I was like, "ayo! When did Adventure Time become an anime?"
This goes well with the Lich he is a necromancer, and the OST is from a zombie movie.
