I wasn’t paying attention during the intro so I didn’t know who wasn’t French but when they all introduced themselves in French at the beginning I spotted the Belgian lady right away 😂

But because French is not the mother tongue of the Luxembourger (which is actually Luxembourgish and more on the germanique side of languages), we just pick and choose what counting system we prefer. Even though in school we should always use de French one!

I've seen the historic French anthem, it was born during the French revolution, no one sings it, in the French state version 4 to 5 stanzas today. In the context in which it was born, it was a song of revolution and war against feudalism, it had 8 verses, very aggressive and libertarian verses. Of course, the state anthem was being simplified, changed and readapted for French civility and militarism and no longer has the original revolutionary spirit it once had.
Sorry, I don't konw what are your sources, but "La Marseillaise" still extremely revolutionnary, the lyrics are quite the same, the official one use "Marchez" then "Marchons" but the popular one only use "Marchons" , and it's called Marseillaise because even if this song was created for an army against german soldiers, it has been sang by southern troupes coming in Paris, and thoses troups was for the parisian "Marseillais" because they were coming from the south. So, yes the song was actually sang.

I'm only one year older than Maxime and I learned "la marseillaise" during the fifa woldcup 98, i was young so it was easy for me to remember it. Later, when I was in CP my teacher made the whole class sing "la marseillaise" and i was the only one who already known it.
When he was asking for the school subject to learn the national anthem I thougt about history first but he said "very specific one", so maybe civic education. But personnaly Iearned it in history class

I'm an American who grew up in a French speaking country (not France) and I went to a private French school grades 1 through 10. Despite this, I don't know the French national anthem beyond the first 3 sentences. Perhaps I knew it at some point. When I was in school, it would have been taught in a class called "Education civique" (civic education). I also don't know most of the star spangled banner. I do know the pledge of allegiance cause it's much shorter! Having lived in Texas at some point in my life, I also know the Texas pledge of allegiance. A pledge of allegiance is a concept purely American. There's no equivalence in France.

Canadian from Québec? It really depends how well they can mimic the Metropolitan French accent. The Quebecois accent sounds very different, but we share enough to be familiar with both. It would be the same if the game was people from Quebec trying to find the French impostor, though I think people in Quebec know more about France than French do about Quebec. So yeah, if someone from Quebec could do the accent well enough, I'm sure they'd do alright. Otherwise, they'd be eliminated as soon as they open their mouth! It's like asking if an American could fool a bunch of British ;)

I'm an American who grew up in a French speaking country (not France) and I went to a private French school grades 1 through 10. Despite this, I don't know the French national anthem beyond the first 3 sentences. Perhaps I knew it at some point. When I was in school, it would have been taught in a class called "Education civique" (civic education). I also don't know most of the star spangled banner. I do know the pledge of allegiance cause it's much shorter! Having lived in Texas at some point in my life, I also know the Texas pledge of allegiance. A pledge of allegiance is a concept purely American. There's no equivalence in France.

Canadian from Québec? It really depends how well they can mimic the Metropolitan French accent. The Quebecois accent sounds very different, but we share enough to be familiar with both. It would be the same if the game was people from Quebec trying to find the French impostor, though I think people in Quebec know more about France than French do about Quebec. So yeah, if someone from Quebec could do the accent well enough, I'm sure they'd do alright. Otherwise, they'd be eliminated as soon as they open their mouth!

Leur anglais est basique honnêtement, pas de quoi en faire tout un plat. On entend très bien leur accent français quand ils parlent anglais en plus
Ça s'entend tout de suite que leur prononciation et leur grammaire fait clairement français, ou en tout cas pas natif anglophone. Certes ils se débrouillent bien en anglais mais de là à dire qu'ils ne sont pas français... surtout qu'ils vivent à l'étranger, c'est la moindre des choses d'arriver à parler avec un anglais décent.
Faut arrêter avec ce vieux cliché, on est entouré de contenus anglophones aujourd'hui avec Internet et la mondialisation, la plupart des gens savent parler un minimum anglais maintenant...
