    For people who are having issues with charging where the phone doesn't charge, charges very slow, charges when you play with the cable or put the phone upside down etc.. Try pressing on the speaker that is located on charging port and also press the cover on the same area, if the phone charges then the issue is not the charging port but a connector on the flex cable that needs soldering...

    • @awnimar
      @awnimar Před 4 lety

      So I had these issue at frist and i had to keep fiddling with the charger for it to charge, then all of a sudden it won't charge no matter what i did, i changed the charging port, but still won't charge, I'm guessing my issue is what you have said to be the flex cable, but I don't have anything to solder it with, so I'll have to take it to a shop, is there anyway to make sure it is actually the connecter not something else?

      Tell me why this being said they fall out...the last phone I've had the charger fall out of was a lightning-using apple device (cough cough if you're gonna use recycled and recyclable components go the extra mile and stop making extra fucking cords that do nothing special except for snap clean in half or start undressing from their insulation every now and again), and the last good phone I've had do that was the Sony Xperia T, a phone from...2012, was it? With a port twice as thick as the USB of the time, that has also been filled with mud and used by a dumbass child with ants in her brain (its not me its not me its not me i)

    • @gamingforfun9000

      @@jellifygirl My c type on xperia xz premium doesnt always fall out, you got to force it in and wiggle it to even start trying, so do that for up to 20 min every time you have to charge, c type plug has nothing to hold in place in the phone, hell you could blow at it and it will fall out. Even slightest touch of the cord and got to reset the whole process again. People in general arent happy with c type, they might be faster for file transferring, my mate has same issue
      Usb chargers are just crap, it should be used for transfer of files only. You know what kind of charges i am talking about i assume?
      Also its not just the flat smooth charging head, its the c type plug itself, so on my end is more the port on the phone that the head of the cable, but the fact is the issue is stupid c type, i want to use it for file transfer not charging. Like my mate has same issues with 3 devices, on 2 of them its the cable (replaced it) on the other one its the plug on the device.
      I have never had charger issues since my first phone in 1998, till usb ones took over, why...because they were old school charge plugs, that dont fall out. And they charged multiple devices. mate we already polute way too much, already got thousand cables for instruments all kinds of crap.
      As for waste, its the world leaders and science he should invest into turning any waste into energy...but they all rather spend money on war economy, so at least dont bring up pollution into this, the other thing is, i said it can be an option, not to replace usb all together, you can use usb for everything so you can have one cord, i dont mind having two or hundred lol so it should be an option all im saying.
      So yeah, c type sucks for the most part

    Good video, but it is only a 50% job on repairing this issue...to be 100%, it is good if you can also show us on the motherboard (there is this female connector from which the charging port C-type cable is connected to)...you can show us how to remove and perform solder of the female connector on the motherboard. This will "surely" resolve this charging issue....at least for this model (XZ premium, G8142 motherboard). Thanks!

I probably will be able to do such repair on a good day, but I think I need a new phone then I can get this one repaired by a local repair person that people trust. Sadly my connection got so loose I can't lay the phone on a table or on the floor for charging, an d have issue a connection to pc, slight movement in floor disconnects it, so I have to lay it in my bed to charge as it then won't be effected by me walking

      @@jellifygirl My XZP started out with the back panel slowly but continuously expanding over about 4-6 months time. As if the battery was somehow growing and pushing the back panel off. I know the XZP has a bad habit of getting really hot at times, which is what makes me think that it got extremely hot too many times that it eventually melted the binding/glue that held it in place. Then it started having charging problems. It got to the point where I would have to plug the charging cable in at a specific position and then not bump it or move it at all, or else it would stop charging. The charging port is loose and the usb-c cables I plug into it always feel very wobbly instead of snug and secure. THEN, even when it would charge; it would charge SUPER slow. Then it stopped charging all together. Lasted about 4-6 days on one of the stamina modes with very dim display settings. Had the phone for 3 years from back in 2017. Got it 2 months after it came out and loved it so much that I recently bought the same phone. The thing is, I have some photos and vids saved on the internal memory that I forgot to transfer to my SD card. I still have my original defective XZP but I don't know if it just needs a new battery, a new charging port, or both. And I'm not veey confident about taking my phone apart and messing with the internals, but I don't want to take it to a repair person either. I'm in a pickle. Also my new XZP for some reason after a few days the power button has become completely unresponsive. The only way I can turn the screen on is by plugging in the charging cable, pressing the dedicated camera button, or by saying "ok google". Any suggestions? And the volume up/down + power holding trick doesn't work on it. It won't even respond to my fingerprint.

      @@sourbyolivierarodriguez1311 actually it's a pre-made adhesive film that is stuck in place using a special jig, not glue. But yes, it does create the water-tight barrier and without it the device will not be water or dust resistant. You can see it curling up in the video as he slides the card inside the phone. It's the black stuff coming out the side. It's quite easy to apply if you know what you're doing but typically only authorised service centres can order them from Sony. Don't do this on a device covered by warranty as you'll do more damage opening the device than you intend to repair. I see nobody uses ESD controls in these videos either. Amazing.

      If anyone doesn't know what ESD is. It's " Electric Static Discharge ". When you touch something metal and get that shock. That's what it is, but that's when you can feel it. You could do it and not even know. And when it hits electronics. You can compare it to, lighting hitting your wire coming into your house. Something is going to get fried bad.
