I miss these helicopters and that whistle. We had one as an Air Ambulance, and it regularly made flyovers past my house. Its distinctive whistle always gave it away before it showed itself. The Bell 407 they use now lacks the charm these old helicopters had.

The Alouette are greats and I´m happy we will still see them over the next few years. They have a very unique sound and always fun to watch.

Back in the 1970's, if they were LIFE FLIGHT helicopters, you had to be able to fly them at night. Just as much medical emergencies happened during the day, medical emergencies happened too at night.
