Loved this! I do love the sounds of the station, the rush of the trains, the bells, whistles and PA announcements. Although when I lived in Japan in the old, old days, announcements were only in Japanese, never in English.

Thank you for showing me Shizuoka station. My wife is from Shizuoka, we hope to be there October for 5 days. Seeing the train station it is not so scary.

In case people were wondering why most people buy a platform ticket, it's to be able to be extra polite and see a guest off from the platform. This culture exists in Japan and other Asian countries. Maybe Europe too, but I do not have direct experience.
Also for train enthusiasts who just want to take photos from the platform.

Didn't seem that fast....maybe 100 to 120klm. I'm pretty sure other cars on German autobahns have passed me at higher differential speeds.....me doing 100 to 110klm and they're doing well over 200klm as they pass.
