    I’ll just say I picked up a HH 210 mvp with spool gun for $999 less than a year ago. For the extra $200 I think I did fine. Not all the bells and whistles of the Miller but a transformer based unit should last many years

    Thanks for the review. I don't even know why I watch welder views anymore. my Everlast 221 STI does everything I need and a ot more. can you change the voltage and wire separate and adjust them manually or only synergic. 175 amps on 229v that is a little let down. For close to the same money they have a YesWelder FIRSTESS™ MP200 5-in-1 Welder & Cutter I wouldlike to see it reviewed. I have a couple yes welder hoods That was cheap and worked great, and they make a real good high quality 250amp TWECO style 15 foot mig gun for 99 bucks. They have them with uroplug like mine or miller or Lincoln so they can fit most all of them. I had them warranty my welding hood once that the head gear stripped and they never even asked to see it and sent me a new one fee of charge, Not the head gear the whole hood.
    To me that says they care what people think when people hear the name yes welder. I have purchase some tungsten and a few things but never a welder. But I would not be scared of any little home units. Also keep in mind this is more a transformer based machine so running on a portable generator will not hurt it. So these kind of machines make good farm and shop welders because they can run off a generator easy . Like my weld machine is a invert type machine with lots of electronics and un clean power spikes and browns cam hurt it bad. Unless you have a pure sign invert generator that smooths out the signals then fancy electronic welders like mine can get damage on a standard gen set. So this is kinda nice for that part. But then only lift start on the tig is a bit a downer too.
    But I always look forward to your videos and like you said yo tell us what you thing not build them

    Nice review but, Why wouldn't you buy the 250pro if you only have 220V because it has more amps and is cheaper? Could also get the Vevor mig 270 with 220amps and all the cables for tig, mig and stick included with Burnback but no inductance a lot cheaper with teflon or graphite liner and U roller for aluminum welding?

    Yeah... Considering I can do 1/2" one pass on single phase. The Miller is staying right where it is in my shop... Seems like a great machine for the average guy and especially at that price! In fact...Had I not bought a Millermatic 252 just last year, I'd probably save the money and get one from YES instead. Although I do have to say. The miller I have is just awesome.

    • @easttexasengineering3489
      @easttexasengineering3489 Před rokem

      The sad part is miller is now made in China as well. Horrible what the good brands have become. The smart buy is why pay miller for just importing a name, may as well buy a non-name brand and save yourself some money but it’s truly your choice, that’s what’s good with our country, we have a choice.

    • @brandoncrimmins6296
      @brandoncrimmins6296 Před rokem

      @@easttexasengineering3489 That’s just not how global economies work. They’re not importing a brand engineered product. Miller are in full control of design, specifications and the final product. They just use cheaper labor to assemble it. You can thank free trade agreements for this… Now I believe that we should buy American whenever it makes sense. But sometimes there’s more going on behind the scenes that lead to these decisions than just making more money and not caring anymore…
      If you’re that horny for something that says made in America. Hit up Snap-On. Their ancient and extremely overpriced machines are still made here. Mind you, NOT by Snap-On… But they are made in America. And they’re solid machines. They just use 50 year old technology and are overpriced.

    • @easttexasengineering3489
      @easttexasengineering3489 Před rokem +1

      @@brandoncrimmins6296 I won’t argue with SOMEWHAT control over design but keep in mind, they bend us over because people like you continue to allow it by buying it. We hold all the cards brother, if we band together we can bring manufacturing back.
      Honestly look at snap on stock market (it’s dying) it’s in the tank, no one buys it anymore. People who buy snap on are buying because their take it now and pay over 12 months policy.
      There is 4 forging companies in America still forging wrenches, two in Texas, one in Colorado, the other in updated New York. Many are forging for craftman and Kobalt. Those two brands also have a lower cost import wrench and sockets but they are only 20% more for the quality American one.
      Now back at miller and Lincoln, they have way more room than you think. They SHOULD ONLY BE 20% higher.
      I been manufacturing all my life and outsourcing to China as well. I know what we pay and I know what we here can make it for. Miller is simply greedy brother.

    • @easttexasengineering3489
      @easttexasengineering3489 Před rokem +1

      @@brandoncrimmins6296 Keep in mind man, I have nothing against buying from another country, however I frown on big American names that falsely represent American names, charge American prices but buy from another country and bend over the consumer. I will do my job and call them out on it. That’s how we take it back. People in China are no different than us and want to work hard to feed their families as well, but big companies hurting us for a quick 180% mark up draws the line.

    • @brandoncrimmins6296
      @brandoncrimmins6296 Před rokem

      @@easttexasengineering3489 Yeah, but you’re just wrong… End of story. I’ve been a diesel mechanic for the better part of 20 years and I own a lot of Snap-On stuff. Both tools and a box. I love all of it. But I certainly wouldn’t be buying it if I wasn’t using the tools everyday. I would just buy something more cost effective with the exact same warranty. Snap-On is dropping because other tool companies are competing and doing a good job. Mac, Matco, Cornwell and even SK are all still made in America (for now) and every tool they sell is one Snappy doesn’t. Plus we’re in a recession and the tools from overseas are no longer the worthless crap they were even 10 years ago. As I stated in my first comment. I buy American when it’s both cost effective and makes sense to do it. And I do, in fact, look for American made first. So believe what you want, but pointing fingers and placing blame helps nothing or no one.
      You can point fingers all you want. But at the end of the day. It was the generation long before mine that forfeited their patriotism for cheaper overseas manufacturing. I’m only 36 and almost everything my parents have ever purchased was cheap overseas garbage. And even to this day… The only thing they actually want to be made in America is their car.
      To be clear, I buy products, like Miller, because I like the products and I think it’s the best value for the money given the use I intend to put them through. I’ve NEVER had a Miller product fail for any reason other than operator misuse or abuse.

    This really seems like it's suited for industrial users who have three-phase, as 175 amps max on single-phase is pretty pathetic for a machine like this. I have the YESWELDER MIG-205S that will run on 110 or 220 and it will do 205 amps on single-phase 220/240 in a much smaller package and it pumps out heat. I have welded 3/8" material with zero issues. Plus being able to do 110v means I've brought it onsite for fabrication and repairs in the field without a generator (just with an extension cable). It can't run an aluminum spool gun and it's got some goofy user interface stuff (just like the one shown here), but it makes way more sense for a home user than this machine. Also, the supplied gun is garbage, so I replaced it with a TWECO euro-style plug one and now I can use regular consumables. The supplied gun actually caught on fire doing overhead welding onsite.

    This is one weird machine.
    A note about the CO2 heater - it's there to prevent icing inside the gas solenoid and whip in sub-zero temps. You ever play paintball in the winter? You can see a little puff of frozen CO2 every time you throw a ball.
    I assume it's there because of it's genny driven capability so your gas doesn't freeze the lines on a cold job site.
    A really cold jobsite.
    I'm in Canada and I've not (yet) had a need for a CO2 heater.
    My 2 cents.

    well, this machine is about worthless in America. 380 volts? VERY few have that, 3 phase. In a industrial or even professional environment that would have 3 phase, they will NOT be using YesWelder. Just no. So you would be paying more for a machine that you can only run at half amps. Now don't get me wrong, one of these in on my need list. but I am a home jobber not a 8 hour professional welder.

      Yeah thats what I thought. Most decent single phase models start at 250 and top out at 350a. MM252 comes to mind, or a Powermig 250.
      175a @ 24 for mig is a bit lame on single phase.

  • @MrSparkn687
    @MrSparkn687 Před 2 lety

    I think you're getting current and volts mixed up... current on most machines is your wire speed and volts is the output of amperage. That machine should be able to weld 270 volts with single phase or 3phase. Its not hindered like a 110v machine would be. Crank the volts all the way up 28v and wire speed to 150-170 and i bet it will burn hotter than you'd think.
