My grandpa passed away in 2018, he was 90 he lived a long life, but we were very close. When he passed away he was in a different state and I was unable to make it down to Florida to see him right before he died, and he was cremated. I'm on the autism spectrum and the only way I can have complete closure when someone passes is to see the person after they die, I have to see the body to fully accept everything and to fully grieve. He came home in an urn, it's been seven years this upcoming December and honestly I still haven't really allowed myself to grieve his passing. It's hard to cry to a marble urn or in his case he was put in one of those valts with other people's names on the same wall. Four days ago I came upon this song, this song has allowed me to cry like I've never cried before and I like to believe that this is my grandpa speaking to me. Go do the best things in life, and that's what I've been doing the last year or so trying to make him proud. I got my first aid and BLS certifications I'm voulenteering at events, I have one coming up in just a week or so, I listen to this song every single day I have to honestly and I find a quiet place and allow myself to cry and I feel this release after crying. This song fills me with so much peace and optimism I can't even describe it although it's very hard to listen to. So, Thank you disturbed for allowing me to finally start grieving in a good way not a negative way.
I went hunting with my dad every year, one year I did not want to go, a voice told me I might regret it some day, so I went. Two years later he was gone. I'm so sorry you didn't get that. An old traing-buddy of me died...two weeks ago, at the age of 54. I'm going to help a neighbour of mine with a camera tomorrow, he is 88. I have lost...5 friends before the age of 50. My father have three types of cancer....two of them in each lung. Never smoked...people are diyng, every single one of us. So...the memories. :)

I lost my mum 8 years ago and its still agony. I refused to deal with it and eventually suffered from a mental breakdown.
It's never good to loose people you love but it's a pain that everyone has to learn to deal with. It's always the little things that you should have done that seems to beat you up. You have endless anger but it slowly subsides.

I lost my dad in 2020. My dad was my everything. It has been almost 3 years since he died. It still heard, but “ hold on to the memories.” That will keep that person alive and now I see my dad my guardian angel. You will always miss the person you lost, but it’s ok. They are there for you!

Lost my dad in 1984. My mom raised both me and my brother. He died on a suzuki rm85 dirt bike head on collision when i was 2 years old. I still ride dirt bikes, but am xtra careful and live each day as if its my last. Hold onto memories.

We were playing beanboozle, my stepfather played up his reactions for my nephews. He passed away a week after thanksgiving, I was at work when my mom tried to call me and then text me. My coworkers tried to talk shit until I told them my father passed away. I stayed strong for months, but then Google dropped this song the day before the FB memories would bring that video forward.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Loosing someone close is terrible. I was, and still am, beside my Dad while he struggles with the loss of him Step Mom. She was a beautiful soul, and my Dad's soulmate, of that I have no doubt. (My Dad just texted me as I write this!) I loved her dearly myself, but was lucky enough to see her shortly before she passed. She was, apparently, as healthy as she ever was (She had a number of health problems). Then, she just... well... was gone. It hit my Dad so hard. Even now he still struggles with it, and it was over five years ago. There is no time limit on loss. I will keep watching your videos. This song is always so beautiful. When Disturbed started putting the hard passion they do into slow songs as well, there was no turning back. I love that they show the Mexican Day of the Dead tradition too. My family always do it, it's a beautiful time of year when you bring your loved ones back to you. My father didn't really care about me, he had broke up with my mom right after I was born and i only seen him once when I was 5...he simply didn't care but my uncle was there and he taught me to me a man he pass away in 2018 from a long fight from sarcadosis....I miss him dearly.

Im sorry to hear about the loss of your father.. When I lost mine two years ago, he was 95 years old.. lived a very fully life, yet it still hurts that he is not here.. I felt like the bottom dropped out of my life.. We did not have the best relationship, but despite his flaws, he did the best he knew how. Music was a big point of difference.. yet, I loved him anyway.. Love to you and the struggle you will go through forever. Just know that Im certain he would be proud of you.. and you live a better life than he did.. which is all he wanted for you... much love.. xo

I cry every time I hear this song. It doesn't matter what I'm doing. I'm sorry to hear about your dad, and I'm sorry for the family that lost that little boy. This song means so much to me as an individual though. It makes me realize how much I feel like I'm wasting my life and have no one to carry on my own legacy... I want nothing more than to have a family and leave behind people who will miss me when I'm gone and have meant so much to them... and right now, I feel like I have nothing and will leave behind nothing... thank you for your video, and don't hold back the tears. I was at a Disturbed concert years ago, and they came down to a stage in the crowd and played a tribute to those we have all lost. One of my best friends in school took his own life. He had made me a Disturbed shirt at school and I happened to be wearing it. His family was also in the crowd... I broke down there and then. Thousands of complete strangers all standing together and crying without shame will give you some faith in humanity.
Your message is great. I'm sorry about your dad. I'm even more sorry for the aftermath you went through. I lost my dad over 20 years ago. Attempted suicide 3 times, succeeded twice, but brought back, I didn't know why God kept bringing me back. It's because I was gifted with a child.
I think too many people hate on Evolution. Yes it's different than usual Disturbed but every song on the record is so touching and powerful and can help so many people like this song Hold On To Memories for example. Also is shows how great of a vocalist David Draiman is and how he can use his voice in so many ways rather than just heavy distorted vocals. I know everyone has their personal tastes but Evolution really doesnt deserve all the hate. Give it another listen with an open mind!!
I lost my dad back in 2006, I missbhim still so much. He raised me from age 2 (mom passed away when I was 2) He raised me to be self sufficient and independent. I finally got married in 2017 at age 34 and he's a good man. But still, I think about my dad daily!!!! Mad respect for being honest about your feelings ❤️

He was an artist. This song helped me so much. My children and I made masks to help us work through our grief.
I am recommending this poem to you on CZcams search "If Tomorrow Starts Without Me (read by Tom O'Bedlam)" I know how much you are grieving and hurting and this poem helped me get through a tremendous amount of grief. I suffered so much grief from August 2001 to July 2002, first I lost my favorite aunt, then two months later I lost my step-mother then four months later I lost my Dad, then 3 months later I lost my mom and last but not least two months later I lost my oldest sister. One hit after another and somehow I had to keep going. The poem I am recommending helped me through it because I could hear all my loved ones I had lost in a years time saying the same thing to me. Bless you man your father is smiling down on you from above I guaranty it.

I cannot listen to this song without crying. I lost my best friend to cancer in 2022, and there was nothing more I could do. I regret every moment that I couldn't do more, even though it was impossible. She died alone in a hospital that wouldn't let visitors in. God I miss her so much.

I lost my father, who was my very best friend, about 5 years ago. I was listening to this song tonight and thinking about him, decided to watch a reaction to it, and yours was the one I picked. Brother, I ache for you. Nothing ever fills that void that our loved ones leave in our heart. After 5 years, sometimes my father's death still punches me in the gut out of nowhere. The flip side is that, with time, the pain subsides and you're left with the cherished memories. Nobody is really ever gone when you love them the way you clearly love your father. First off, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad . Death is a beautiful thing I agree with you there, but it’s still tragic for those of us that are left behind without that person. Sorry for your loss it’s hard to lose your loved ones. Oh and my father was a hero, he served 13 years in the 101st Airborne he did one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. I would love to talk to you about him. Him and I didn’t get along at all when I was younger but now I totally understand why.

This song is extra special to me. In 2020, 10 days after my birthday, I lost my grandmother. She was almost 96. My whole family sat with her in the last moments, and when I got in the car to drive back home I put this song on, turned the volume all the way up, and cried my eyes out. The album this was on got a lot of flack for being soft, but there's so much on here that holds a special place in my heart, this song most of all.

We played this song at my fathers funeral, and I'm so happy the last few times he invited me to go out or just spend time with him I always went with him and i treasure those moments, in all honesty he knew he wasn't going to be with us much longer but he made a true effort to let us all know just how much he loved us never holding back in saying it and giving us a strong hug. He was a strong man and I will miss him deeply, this song reminds me of him so much but i still love it.
