    My Dear Scarlet Knight,
There is a day in Mexico called "Dios De Las Muertos," "Day of the Dead." It is a tradition that is celebrated around Halloween and it is to honor those that have passed on. The masks are a major part of the celebration. David is classically trained and was also training to be a Cantor and a Rabbi. So yes, he does have an incredible voice. This song gets to me every time I listen to it.
    God Bless

About 6 months ago in an interview david admitted that the idea to this song came from taking his kids to see Coco. There is another version of this song that is a live tribute to all the friends in rock that have been lost such as Chester and Dimebag. Great reaction though.

David Draiman...a voice to die for! A powerful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion and back on a dime, which goes straight through you to your very soul! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before........just hauntingly beautiful. An awesome talent. Loved your reaction and your take on the performance Scarlet..... David can make you cry or give you goosebumps or BOTH! His voice goes right through you! Love this song, as I've lost both grandparents, both parents and my brother....and this helps me so much!! Thanks Scarlet!

Excellent reaction, I never fail to tear up listening to this song. David's vocals are like this crazy angel deal with the devil mix that kills me. If you're on an emo kick still, Reason to Fight the Official LIVE version is one to watch. Honestly it's helped me through many rough depression patches. The Light is another fantastic one. Inside the Fire will tear your heart open. So of course recommend. lol

It is the masks for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Mexican culture. They believe by celebrating with the masks and celebrating the dead by parading in masks or face painting such as this it always keeps their memories alive.

This song always hits me hard. I watched my grandfathers decay and pass. My 2 blood and my step who was extremely close to me. With many others I love but always makes me feel my grandfather’s first. I can never hear this wonderful song without becoming emotional in so many aspects. This song really makes you think. Disturbed has at least 4 that really hits me hard.

omg that is heartbreaking. I lost my little brother to suicide by hanging and sometimes music helps me get through the day when I am struggling with his loss. I was thinking about the loss of my brother and the loss of my grandmother when I was listening to this song and I have found it to be a positive way to view the loss by focusing on the memories rather than the fact that they are no longer here.

Beautiful reaction!! 💖💖 You got me on board. Had subscribed.
This deep and touching song had also helped me go over my dad's demise last year; this one and 3 more from Disturbed: "A Reason to Fight", "The Light" and "Indestructible". "A Reason to Fight" is also a ballad, "The Light" is a slow heavy metal song and "Indestructible" is heavy, but the messages are somehow similar.
But no matter what Disturbed song you'll choose to listen, David Draiman's voice is unique and amazing (one of the best male rock voice, if not the best one, in my oppinion) and there is always a deep message delivered.
Keep up the good job, stay strong, stay positive, be safe!

As someone who struggles with losing loved ones and who has lost a lot recently. I honestly was flooded with a lot of thoughts and feelings while watching it. It has a powerful message and I dont think I was able to convey everything I was thinking and feeling during this reaction. Sometimes that happens with 1st time reactions to things. I actually have a simular kind of celebration of the life of our lost ones in my religion that is very close to how they do this in latino culture.

To us, those person are just people, we don't know them (hence the white mask) because let's be honest, we pass them on the street, they are just another person..
But to the people decorating the masks, they are people who colored their lives, brought vibrant colours to life, which is why they decorated it 😃😃😃

Yes, this song always makes me cry however I don't consider it a sad song. I cry because I miss them but their memories are something I love. When David sings " take a bite out of life while you can" I always remember my oldest brother - he lived every minute and tried to show others the possibilities out there for them even though he was physically handicapped. And he loved to laugh, saw humor in almost everything. He's been gone almost 10 years but I still don't mourn him, I envy the fact that he lived so fully. Miss him, yes but mourn him, no.
