- Here is my video review of the Otterbox Defender Pro Series case for the Samsung Galaxy S21. You can buy this starting around $40 at Best Buy to $65 on the official Otterbox website. They obviously make this for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
As you can see by the thumbnail, I have the black version in my possession. If you know me, you know I like black cases!
The Defender Series cases are one of the most popular cases that Otterbox has to offer. The Pro version just takes it a step further.

I have the S21+ 5G and mine has gaps all along the top and bottom. Don't know if somebody pulled a switcheroo at Best Buy, or if I'm just an idiot, probably the latter 🙂
Just got a S21 today with the defender case. The instructions on the box are completely useless and I nearly ruined my screen protector trying to install it. Then I found your video and it was a piece of cake. Thanks for the video.
When I bought one, the person that was unlocking the case at Walmart said "this is the best of the best and I have this exact case on my phone" and than she threw her phone across the room and it didn't crack ir break. So we were sold.
Man that Walmart sales person deserves a raise!

I've had them on my phones since they came out. They look good and work perfect. I was cutting out some boilers at a power plant and I put I phone in a pocket I forgot had a hole in it and I slid down my pants leg and fell of the scaffold down 60 feet and the phone still lived. I've also ran it over with a forklift and luckily it was facedown but the phone was just fine just cracked the housing that's it. By far my favorite case

Awesome review. I've had otterbox defender cases in the past 3 other phones but when I ordered my s21+ I got free cases and didn't get the otterbox and I'm considering getting it now
Bought this on super sale, got it in the mail and couldn't figure out how to get the rubber off. Watched this video and immediately was able to get it off. Thanks bro.
I got mine at Walmart yesterday $39.98. With the Onn. Screen protector for $17.17 I feel secure. This case seems safe but I feel better with the screen protector. It is the glass type. Fingerprint i.d. perfect!
Just got one today for my S21+ and I love it! In the past, I had one on my iPhone 11 ProMax and Note 9.
Is there a lip on the screen?
Thank God for this tutorial I tried to shove it in like it was a slip on case and almost broke it something didn't feel right so I said let me look it up how to get this on, I haven't had an Otter box case like this in a long time so I forgot. Thanks for the tutorial, she's a beast.

Well they might in your country but they definitely don't have them pre-installed in the United States. I can confirm that 100% that mine didn't out of the box.

i had 3 s21 ultra 2 from AT&T that we returned 1 from Tmobile and a replacement from Tmobile all 4 didn't come with screen protectors

I have one on my Galaxy S21 and it's the best case for any phone you have, I also had one for my Pixel 4xl as well!!
I do like it. It's a little thick for my liking but it's damn good case!
I like the otterbox but I do wish all four side of the case were lifted like the s10e otterbox because the way the case is feels like the curve s10 and s20 cases for the brand

FYI to release the kickstand push down on the tab. Dont force push the clip.
always wondered why no one being worrying about there is no any soft material on the inner sides of case besides the back
I got this on eBay last week for $16 and change. It's a strong, well-made case, but I'm not so sure it will protect the screen if I happen to drop it. The Otterbox case on my old iPhone SE had raised edges all around, and I felt it protected the screen more.
This Otterbox Defender Pro Series is really good.
Make sure you get the zagg invisible shield for it too. I've had to recently upgrade to the note 21 because my note 9 had the otter box case for that model and although it does protect it from drops it doesn't protect anything from being dropped onto the screen, which is what happened to my 9 and consequently broke the screen and rendered the digitizer ineffective. If not for the stylus which was able to communicate with phone and i was able to retrieve all the info i needed to transfer to my new phone, otherwise a regular galaxy s with no stylus would have been lost completely.

I find it unsatisfying that the sides of the smartphone aren't very protected. These are the first places where the smartphone's screen is being broken, and there's still 1mm almost 2mm atmost, it's not very cool.
Still the big funky box makes it very impressionnable
I had to modify my Otter box defender case,I found it was interfering with my screen protector causing it to lift up slightly in the corners,Just file the inner case to remove about half a millimetre giving enough clearance.
Which tempered glass screen protectors are compatible with the Defender Pro for the Galaxy S21 plus?
I love the case use it with film screen and camera protector only down fall is using the kick stand in portrait otherwise 10 out of 10 for quality, protection, functionality and confidence in the case doing its job to level where im an engineer ill put my phone inside a high speed machine to use the slow motion camera. have the convenience its stable and protected

Would it work if I put the anty spy screen protector with the otterbox?
I have an S21 Ultra and the defender case only fits 1 way which is unlike any other previous defender case I have owned with my other Samsung phones . This allows for the mistake of putting the phone in the holster incorrectly and possibly having it fall out. Disappointed !
If you had to only choose one, Defender Pro or Commuter?
If I had to pick between the two, I would say Defender. They're almost close to the same thickness. Obviously the Defender is a tad bit thicker but it's that nice grippy material all around.

Can I still use a pop socket? I just really like the feel of a pop socket when I hold my phone. Just feels like extra security, since I think I drop my phone way too often.
From everything that I have seen, you should be able to use a popsocket on this case. I know OtterBox even makes a popsocket case but it's not this specific case but I believe it's their commuter if I'm not mistaking.
@@RoyFlorez its their symmetry case, they have a model with a pop socket built in and another model that's just a case.

does your phone already have a screen protector on it or do you not need one for the otterbox defender cases?
I have dropped my Defender case several times on asphalt and concrete from moderate waist or chest height no screen . Note 9 and never had a problem. However if you tend to put it in your pocket or do other things that could scratch it it would probably be a good idea.

It just comes with it. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to at all.

This or UAG Monarch? For me UAG have better design, but this isn't bad too.

@@jameswconforti4248 the OtterBox cases definitely do a great job for the overall protection. You'll need to get a tempered glass of some sort if you want the screen protected even more. I also really like the UAG cases when it comes to rugged protection.

This case sucks it doesn't give you 360 protection. Your phone has 6 sides it protects 5 the most important side the Beautiful gorgeous screen that Samsung is known for is not protected at all.If you use if you use cellhelmet liquid protector the 1st time you drop it and it scratches even if it just scratches the protector... It's permanent with no way to remove it!!!! Do yourself a favor and get a case with a Built-in screen why Otterbox does not offer this is beyond me!
Whats the difference between the commuter and defender??
Commuter is a thinner case with a slick smooth backing so its easy to go in and out of a pocket. Defender is a bit bulkier and includes a belt clip holster which also doubles as a stand.

Which screen and camera protectors are best? I have bought so many off of amazon but they all come up at the bottom of screen and I'm so fed up. Don't like the glass protectors but if they work I'd look into it.

Why does the S21 5G have 3 cameras on the back, is it infrared to video in the dark?
They’re just the standard cameras (wide, ultra wide, telephoto)
Does not protect your phone! I have this case and I dropped the phone on the floor and my display was broken! Don't buy if you don't want to regret it!

I work construction, and I disagree with you. I've dropped my s21 + a few times, and didn't get a scratch. Most of my co- workers use Otterbox Defender cases.

utter rubbish, Ive used otterbox for the last 3 phone (I keep my phones for a long time) the last otterbox on my S10, the rubber started delaminating they it eventually fell apart, I contacted them, not for guarantee but to ask If I'd done something wrong and not 1 reply, typical theyve got your money they dont give a toss
