I think the fact that they were able to each take charge of their own songs, while getting respect and support from the others, was key for their long lasting success.
Hi Richard ! It’s been a while since I’ve “bumped into you” in the comments 😊 Good to see you!
I totally agree - Queen was special in that fashion, each one ultimately in charge of their own songs, teamwork and mutual respect/support… even when they bickered in the studio, the ultimate goal was to wring out the best results from everything they did. And I admire that group mindset of “four equal members”.
🔥Thank you so much Rory! I'm glad you enjoyed it! This was 46 years ago and it's still being played all over the world..... I saw you smiling when Freddie was doing his "darling" bit on the mixing desk 😉- he certainly did change his appearance and public mannerisms. Beautiful, kind man both inside and out. ❤️🐾x
Not at all surprised to see Freddie so involved in production. Audio engineering is also an artform, and the best producers/engineers are versatile, innovative, meticulous and musically astute. Sounds like our man!
I missed Queen video reactions listening to Freddie has lifted my mood because one of my cats Gregory passed away he was 5 years old and watching Freddie has brought to me good memories, thanks Rory and xoxoxo to princess Nala👏🏻👍👌😿🎹🎸
😿

@@laurawatters914 Thanks for your message , Laura I appreciate so much
Love the fact that FREDDIE wasn't Selfish at all at the Board ! Rest Easy Brother LOVE AN MISS YOU AN YOUR GENIUSES FOREVER ❤❤❤❤❤
That was totally awesome!! I love videos like this behinds the scenes. Awesome reaction Rory and thank you Granny Annie for this awesome and priceless request!! Love Queen. 😊 🩷🤟✌️🌹
I love how Freddie didnt get cross but called the others over yo gently push that guy out when he wasn't working with Freddie
Roger knew better than to actually mess with anything!
This was a nice request, it is great to see young Queen working together. It is also nice to see Freddie just playing the piano, as usual it seems like Roger is always having fun. Freddie and Brian spent the most time in the studio. Freddie often went alone to the studio and changed things afterwards. He did really spent a lot of time in the studio. Queen did like having a hand in every detail.
Freddie often went alone to the studio and changed things afterwards… hadn’t thought of that but makes complete sense
They wrote songs this way often, hence familiarity. Result was solid gold!
That was such fun to watch! Glorious. Amazing the impact Queen has had on the planet!
Thanks Rory … this is great✌🏼 Freddie remained a patient gentleman in every video I’ve seen the guys putting a song together. So serious yet never becomes agitated. He was an amazing ‘ director’ . He called everybody Darling … even when I saw him with strangers somewhere and he was signing autographs which I’ve heard he always would do. We lost a lot when we lost Freddie.
Freddie 😍
Thanks Rory
I love watching videos like this watching their genius minds work watch Freddie put it all together exactly how he wants it lol but it’s awesome to see how they all work together
That was a lovely feel. That's exactly how it should be.
He studied it once he realized he would need to understand how to.
He was a perfectionists after all.
Now you've given me a new favorite video.... see Deaky sitting on a stool, tapping his toe -- Freddie playing the piano but we view him on the mic... don't understand that. Obviously only crafting the video. I do like watching and listening to them work.
Thank you Annie and Rory. 💕💕💕Freddie was so meticulous that each word had to be the right word , each tone had to be the right tone all the way through to making the cover of the album on every single song.
Great reaction, thanks! It's pretty clear that Freddie had a very good ear and was looking for a specific sound. He claimed he did not have a good grasp on the electronics but he knew the sound he was looking for, what he liked and what he didn't like. I remember Brian telling a story where Freddie was not happy with the sound of his vocals in the beginning. He went off and worked on his vocals until he could produce the sound he was looking for then brought it back to the engineer for the mix. That's probably why Freddie was so good at changing the tone and style of his voice along with the conveyance of emotion. Also, I remember Jim Beach saying Freddie's ear was one of the best in the business during one of the documentaries.
Around 9:43 I hear John say "more bass!"
The people in the video are all invited fans, something Queen would always do as much as possible, right from the early days they'd involve the fans, which is where this song and Sir Brian We Will Rock You came from, being able to involve them as much as possible
Darling Freddie was very meticulous! 😉
Enjoyed this 👍
Thank you
Nice ...didn't know this existed, thanks so much
With Queen, whoever wrote the song would kind of babysit it through completion and in this case that was Freddie. Freddie had a lot of input with John and Roger as well but not so much with Brian. Brian basically took his songs through to the end much like Freddie did with this one. Brian also manned the desk during a lot of the recording when he was not the one laying down the tracks. All of these guys were in it to win it and all learned and oversaw every aspect of delivering their product. Smart guys all of them from the first written note to the finished album, they had their hands on all of it even album cover design. Thanks again, Rory. I always enjoy your reactions.
