Seeing your reaction to the werewolf quest was nice, seeing your perspective. I actually chose to let her live and killed the werewolf. I thought her dying was the easy way out. I wanted her to live with her decision. That because of her jealousy and selfishness, everyone she loved is dead.
It's beautiful how in this world, every action has consequences. same goes for sparing or killing a werewolf. but that's a whole other story. sometimes, when you return to the place where you completed a quest, feeling like you did a good job, you find out you actually screwed up. and sometimes, after a while, you experience the consequences firsthand. that's just how it goes - the longer you play, the thicker the plot gets.
If you go to the village, you will hear that she "self-deleted", you can actually hear villagers talking about the hunter and her.
I gotta say, people, who plot someones murder to reach their goals usually called phycopaths and have no empathy. They would do this again, if they had a chance, coz they think, they are right.
With the werewolf quest, when the woman asks you to tell the husband her sister is dead without finding out what happened, you can accept the gold from her and tell her you will do as she asks and then carry on with the quest afterwards but you will not get objectives or markers on the minimap. Details like this are what make this game so awesome

One thing I love about the Witcher is it forces you to make decisions in morally gray areas. And sometimes they have further implications way later in the game, sometimes they don't. Like you chose the heat of the moment to let the werewolve kill her vs sparing her.
A little bit of an Easter Egg, if you go back to the village where Niellen and Hanna lived in about 1 week of witcher time (you can pass the days by meditating) and you stay near the villagers you can hear them gossip about what happened :)
this one contract had more emotion then all assasin's greed's sidemisiions

Honestly it's always fun to see newcomers to this series come and fall in love with the world of the Witcher. I'm sure I speak for most of us when I say we enjoy seeing others discover for themselves what we did when playing the game.
You've already learned most if not all the non spoilery tips and tricks. One thing I myself learned is to check out the whole map before continuing the main quests, there are hidden side quests that don't even appear on the map you could easily miss. Some quests will even vanish depending on where you go first as well as character interactions changing depending on if you have completed certain quests or not.
There's a reason we play this game multiple time 😂
Enjoy your first playthrough and if you're curious about what could change if you'd made different choices then you can play it all over again (or look up videos of the differences if you dont wish to play it again).
If, at the end of this game, you want to know more about the world of this game there are both Videos on the lore made by fans as well as the original books which the witcher games are a sequel to.
A couple of things about Gwent:
It seems counter intuitive, but spies are the best cards. Giving your opponent a little more power in exchange for drawing cards is well worth it. You can also combo them with medics and decoy cards to reuse them and draw MORE cards.
Whenever you encounter someone that you can play you’ll get a new card the first time you beat them. You should also buy cards from merchants whenever they’re available.
There’s a quest for collecting every Gwent card (as well as one other big one that I won’t spoil), so if you pick them up as you encounter them it’s less of a pain in the ass than having to backtrack and remember which merchants you’ve missed.

Spy cards are so good that they were deemed overpowered in the standalone multiplayer gwent and removed alltogether!
don't worry about exploring and taking your time man, the game was made for that playstyle and it rewards you for it too, one thing i see no one mention with this game is how good the camera work is even in mundane dialogue, always moving, always cool angles, that keeps you engaged without even realizing, also the writing is amazing.
I love how you've gotten a taste for dark fantasy from the Witcher😺
At some point, you should check out the Dragon Age series if you haven't already

I would also say that you can sell all the weapons and armor you pick up from bandits and on the road. Usually, you get some cool weapons from question marks around the map. Also if you want good armor then witcher armor quests are worth looking into, they are called scavenger hunts.

Absolutely don't worry about not rushing the main story, this game is all about exploring and you get a hefty reward for it!
That streamer you cant think of that uses the "Le Le Le Le" battle song might be Chonn's Carnage. He has a great Let's Play for The Witcher on Death March difficulty.
He was soo excited to play it when it was first released. The battle song was then added to his list of sounds for every hard difficulty battle that took him a hot minute to finish in The Witcher all other games since still to this day.
Also as a side note and tip; I definitely recommend that you do the scavenger hunts for the different schools of Witcher gear. The two swords are only a part. The diagrams you can find are for full armor plus steel and silver swords and the occasional crossbow. They are also upgradeable at the right level, not too difficult to find or craft. Each school of Witcher gear offers different bonuses depending on your play style and still tree choices. At higher levels you can also add runes to the different the different gear slots for armor.
The schools are
Viper; (usually alchemy tree, compat enhancer, medium armor)
Cat; light armor, combat and signs tree.
Ursine (Bear); heavy armor, full combat, plus a little of signs.
Wolf; medium armor, a little of all skill trees.
I think that's all the schools. There are several levels of upgrades you can find in different areas. They are well worth the time to find as they have fantastic bonuses at higher levels that can be added to with the sign runes to buff up your favorite signs. They are the BEST armor and best looking armors in my opinion, that you can find in the game and the sooner you find the school armor(s) you like, the better for your inventory and stash space.
Then you can just sell off or dismantle all other armors and weapons you loot.
I love when you hear everything happening around, awesome emergence in the world.
Really loving your gameplay and hoping for more gameplays.
One other tip: You should investigate clues a little more carefully, it sometimes brings more information about the story of the quest and sometimes you can't find out the whole truth if you do not carefully inspect all red highlighted hints. For dark places craft a cat potion, it helps you to see better. Bombs blind you or cause damage because you throw them at an enemy that is too close to you.
Blacksmiths give you more money for swords and merchants and armorers less..also sell more stuff rather than dismantling it at the beginning..untill you get more coin😊
Don’t feel bad bro, in that werewolf mission I also made the same choice as you, sure it was brutal but she definitely deserved that!
Niellen and Hanna were the only victims in that story and everyone ends up dead because of the jealous sister.
This game has so many of these interesting stories with difficult choices, sometimes there’s just no right choice and you have to choose the lesser evil, in other situations like this one it’s totally justified to show no mercy.
You should read the notes that you pick up instead of just speeding through the game. At this stage of the game, you should literally, have a Witcher Viper sword on your back. And the funny thing is, the path that leads you to it...well, starts in your own inventory, at this point.
Dont forget to purchase maps from armorers or blacksmiths, they can lead you to witcher gear and to other good stuff
Looks like someone's got money for keeping quiet about the priest's fisstech addiction 💰😜 fisstech is illegal and its trade is heavily regulated or controlled by criminal organizations. this world's pretty dark in many ways, hope you'll keep playing to see for yourself. oh and about the pig. I belive the villagers hid it in the cottage to prevent it from being requisitioned. 💔

I just wanted to tell that the battle in the beginning was beautifully executed, especially since you play on Hard and also went fighting with enemies on much higher level than your own.

Also also, its been years since I played the game but I'm pretty sure i made the same decision, you're good in my book lol
If you don't want to constantly use the oils manually, there is an option in settings to apply them automatically.
Also Geralt has four "food" slots in total, so you can have three potions equipped and one type of food, saying it because I've noticed you weren't using the fourth slot at all.

You should also manage your world map view so you can see all the undiscovered places of interest around the world which you get by visiting notice boards. There is a lot of good stuff and loot around.
To dismantle gear is usually not a good idea, because it costs you double: Not only is it very expensive, but selling the loot instead will be by far the main source of your income over the whole game. Because of that, I do recommend to pick up all the loot after you killed some bandits, even crappy weapons. That also means you need to clear out your inventory pretty much whenever you can, either by selling your loot, or to put the gear you don't use into your stash!
Casting signs/stamina: If you want to cast more signs in combat you need to keep an eye out on your stamina regeneration, heavy armor pieces reduce it, for example. Another problem is rollining on the floor, during the animation you don't regenerate ANY stamina, sidestepping is way more effective if you want to be more of a caster. 😉
Bug warning: The black smith in the village Blackbough can be bugged: Sometimes you can't talk to him even if he is working and you should be able to. Meditating should do the trick, just give him enough space to spawn at his forge! 😉
This would my first time even watching the witcher 3 but i also thought in the werewolf quest that yeah the women has to be either eaten or killed so for my perspective it was the best decision that you made blaze

I don't know if you enjoy first person shooter RPGs, but Cyberpunk 2077 is one of my favorite games of all time and I feel like you would love the story and characters of that world. I don't know if you've played it already, if so just disregard this comment.

Also you can loot more freely, most weight comes from swords and armor so you can decide not to take those but everything else is ok and it mostly does not weigh much.
Yeah, get every gwent card there is, also Nilfgaardian faction is the best imo, especially its spy cards.
Also get every bounty board there is, gives you more quests and landmarks

You aren't using your 4th potion slot. You should use it
3 potions and a food item is optimal for the early game
and for late game as well :)
They play with controller unfortunately and I guess say safely that they use most of the time only 2 slots actually. That's the price to pay when not playing with keyboard.

Also about your decision in the warewolf encounter:
You did what was right in my opinion for a number of reasons:
first off Geralt was known for emotions and not every nonhumanoid is a monster. The sister of Hannah was a monster herself.
Here is the second reason for me: She did all of that only to take away the man Hannah loved getting her sister killed and then trying to get you away from the Niellen as to not kill him after she knew it could lead you to the fact that she was resposible for the death of her sister.
And lastly: There was no right or wrong here. It was just awful or awful. You just didn't take part in this after you knew the whole truth.

I personally would have let the sister lived( a softie at heart and that is a brutal death). But I get it. Even if she didn't mean to get her sister killed, what on earth did she think was going to happen? Bringing her sister to a werewolf, knowing full well he can't control himself? Either she is pretty but not the smartest or her 'love'(I call obsession/ infatuation as love is lettin the person be happy. Even if its not with you) blinded her to the point she had zero common sense. Like best solution is, if she wanted to confess, was to let him that she knew his secret but still loved him. Encouraged him to tell Hanna and if she didn't accept, then it wasn't meant to be. I mean, its still terrible as thats her sisters husband but least nobody would have gotten killed. Plus, again, even if she didn't mean for her to get killed and regret, she obviously didn't regret it that much since she still pursued and saw it as a chance to make him hers, not caring that her actions hurt him and that he was grieving. She wanted Geralt to stop to hide her secret. Like all in all, it was clear obsession and jealousy that indirectly killed two innocent people. With the option to spare her and let her live a lonely life filled with guilt or die a brutal death. Can't build a happy life on the misfortune and pain of others. >w>

As it comes to gear..armor and dmg stats are in the end more important then buffs ;) If u destroy monsters nests, loot them. And about some decisions. Well as u dont know anything about Gerald..its up to u anyway. But he would never ever take money from an asshole or let a werewolf kill a girl, even if she has done somthing wrong..just sayin..he would let her feel the pain until the end of her life :P

In the werewolf story it was the right choice. Envy is a bane to everyone around and if things go that far, the person deserves what's coming to them.
there is no right choice, that is the essence of the witcher, there are just decisions and every one of them has consequences. There are no whithe and black choices, the witcher walks the path of shades of grey.
Imma be 100 Skyrim had the right idea as we all know when it comes to big open world rpg but it made you feel like really important noone. The politics are forced down your throat and your character will always have the quest to join one of the sides of the war. The game itself is good but the story is really lacking at many times. I as you may remember from my comments am a guy who loves games with deep story: witcher, telltale games, mass effect, Resident evil (also really hope one day to see the full RE4R from you but i get it if you already finished it :P).
With skyrim it had the great foundation but characters and dialogue was lacking. Like most of decisions you make in Skyrim feel empty and not followed up on. Like decision of the mentioned war will change nothing. Here a little conversation you had can change how an entire quest ends. Also the fact of not censoring the gray side of the entire thing. Like Witcher has like you mentioned gore, tragedy, evil or evil choices and lets not forget about some eye candy with some nude scenes that are tastefully made. This is one of the main reasons why i come back to this game but to enjoy skyrim even a little i have to put 5 hours into modding it just to have some decent time.
Also an interesting fact:
If you'd decide to go for the DLCs before the main story finishes you can find a lot of special dialogue that will go with the current place the story is in. It even lets you get some of the information that might change your decisions in the main plot but it is also fully made to not feel like it's lacking if you decide to tackle the dlc after the main story. It really lets you choose when to do them and make it feel like you didn't pause the main story for them it feels like it just happened and you continue the same story.

you were wrong for letting the other sister die... 2 evils dont equal 1 good. There was 1 murder already, a 2nd one was unnecessary and you could have stopped it. Witchers are not judges, you cant say "she deserves it"... its not up to you to decide who deserves what. Thats how I see this quest
