- Here's the thing. Just getting the platinum really isn't that hard once you know the level. The requirement is 3:10, which leaves a lot of room for mistakes and waiting for platforms and stuff. However, I wasn't just gonna upload a video where I half-ass my way through the level just to get the platinum and clock a 3:09. I wanted a somewhat respectable time, so I had to at least get under three minutes.
The main problem I faced was the stairs at 2:25. I kept finding myself stuck at the top step for some reason, so after failing too many good runs at that point, I figured out that the only way I could safely get past it was to simply tap the directional button on that jump. The following platforms are also a pain in the ass, and it was nearly pointless for me to approach them without a mask.
I'd say this was a pretty good run, even though it's nowhere near world record material. I wasted a lot of time at 2:42 and onwards, but I failed several runs there too and by now I just wanted to finish. I was actually surprised I got as low as 2:52, as I was expecting more like 2:55. - Hry
Btw, my left thumb literally hurts after all the attempts on this, so I need a little break to recover before I get started on the rest of the time trials. I don't remember the last time that happened.

You know what? Rest. I actually know someone who played too much Kid Icarus Uprising and hurt their wrist.
They also worked as a games tester, and was testing a Hitman game. All that strain has to chronic pain in his wrist. If he had given it a break, he would have been fine.

The fact that it hurts you and it took even you over 100 tries even though you played the old Stormy Ascent already proves this is in fact, the hardest crash level
After literally 7 hours of this shit, I finally have the gem and the gold relic. The bloke who designed this must have been going through divorce procedures or something, because this level was just nasty.
I take my hat off to you sir for this run, but me and my thumping head ache are going to take the gold relic and gtfo of Crash 1.

Playing this level made me cry inside and outside...the hardest level i have EVER played on any game i have played in my 25 years of playing games...just omg...ahhhh
I still consider this time trial to be the toughest ever. Even tougher than all the crash 4 ones

Try Hollow Knight, the end game has a special "path" which is a real nightmare, (it also have a recap of all boss of the game in their hardest versions)

I finally got this, 3:08 but I don't care about world records. That last jump can go straight to hell for screwing me up like five times. All 27 platinum relics, done.

I have just beaten the platinum for sunset vista ( 3:14 btw 💀 and maybe over 300 attempts ) , and your comment doesn't give me hope for Stormy tbh

After spending 3 hours and getting knowhere and spending 40 minutes today i finally got a time of 2:55:89 and i gotta say, thank you so much, that was my last required platinum out of all three games. I got the trophy (which was the only one i didn't get back in 2017) and the relic, i finally have all the platinums after all these years.
Hands down to the best Crash Bandicoot player.

Last time I checked the record was 2:20. Feels kinda bad that someone was 30 seconds faster than me after all the struggle, but I'll improve this time some day.

Finally done in 3:02 after two days! Thanks for your videos, very useful and without crazy WR-shortcuts that noone can perform. Crash 1 is done!
I knew you would do much better than me, Garland! (mine was a close call at 3:09:09).
If you're still having trouble with the run then you should try this:
1. The hitbox of the spikes punish you if you are too near to the walls, stay as far from the walls as possible. Those places at 1:45 and 2:30 become less of a pain to get through, trust me.
2. There's a shortcut at 1:38, don't jump the platform Garland is standing and you'll get to the time boxes inmediately. Beware that you could lose Aku Aku with that, but step 1 is possible on this one as well.
3. Regarding Aku Aku, you shouldn't need the first one; you can save enough time to rush that section at 0:20 if you don't take it.

These are great tips and i actually started to respect those 2 first ones more when i read this even when i knew about them and it helped me to get my platinum for it!
But i can say otherwise for your last tip. I used to skip the first Aku and save the time for later but when i realized it totally changes the timeframe of the levels traps and moving parts etc in a positive effect, after 500+ deaths i changed my gameplay to always take that Aku and sure enough, i passed the level. Afterwards when i had done cleaning the sweat, blood and tears from my controller, i was in a happy place😂

Had it not been for this video, i wouldnt have ever gotten 3.04 minutes let alone beat the stage. Definitely the hardest trial of the trilogy

This level is pure bullshit, mess up one thing, and the timing of every other moving object is ruined. Very nice run btw
I feel like if this was in the og then some of that timing messing up wouldn't have happened since the level wouldn't be rendered the whole time, kinda like how dashing in the polar bear segments in the 2 remake will mess up the level timing and not in the original
Took me 9 hours to complete any run, which got me the gold. I just felt relief.

EDIT: Managed to do it in 3 mins 20 secs. So happy right now. Not even going to try for Platinum, just happy to get gold and the achievement "An Ancient Antiquity."

Took me 60 attempts, that final part with the birds is pure cancer, also the stairs before the fast moving platforms has a bug, I died too many times because I got stuck at the final stairs and I wasn't able to jump off it. That part is a broken mes, eventually I got a gold time relic.
That jump at 1:59 has killed me I don’t know how many times, I just cannot do it
The jumping and the timing irritates the fuck out of me
Trying for platinum for this level made The Lab and Generator Room feel like a cake walk.

This level is a hell, I did platinum, but I tried dozen of times for this, even the time for this is lenient, the level is really hard for finish
I got all the platinum relics in the first game and never wanted to play another crash bandicoot game ever again but I’m planning on getting the platinum on the fourth game. Wish me luck. Also, I did get the platinum relic for stormy ascent

Is this the hardest Crash level? No, I find levels like Cold Hard Crash and The High Road to be much harder, and most Crash 4 levels are way harder than this.

I haven't even attempted the time trial for this level yet. I just got the Gem after dying about 30 times. Lol! I came into the level with 46 lives and by the time I beat it I was at 15 lives but totally worth it to be able to say I beat Stormy Ascent and got every box in the level.

Just got this. Took me 3 days. Not as bad as impossible boy which took me 3 weeks but that didn’t automatically make me good at this and it was tough as nails. Thought I was gonna take another 3 weeks playing a level for that whole time that I suffered.

My left thumb hurts after trying this for 4 hours. Last time this happened in 2019 i think.
Finally made it to the end of this level oh my lord...
I got the gem first last night, took me about 20 lives, then finally got the gold relic which took proly 40 tries with a time of 3:50. Then with me being the way I am I had to get the platinum relic of 3:10. I've spent close to 8 hours trying to do it, jump after jump, death after death, getting close to the end with only one or two more jumps left but then dying. But finally after about LITERALLY 200 ATTEMPTS I got the platinum relic with a time of 3:08. My thumb really hurts from jumping so many times but damn does it feel good that I never have to do that ever again in my life.

Wow, just with your run im 7 seconds faster at the end of the first segment, but to find youre 18 seconds ahead of plat time? geez, this thing is generous. i came here to find out how to deal with the bit at 1:12 and the rotating platforms after the assistant. Every time i get there its either one cycle or another and i have no idea how to make it the good cycle consistently
After 30+ lives on this stage & seeing the platinum time my mind was like f&@k this. Good job.
The most rage inducing platinum I ever got, 2:59 and I will never touch this level again, thank god I got the gem first.

Really amazing run as is expected from the Great Garland lol seriously though this is amazing how quickly you pulled it off. Also this level should have never been released or redone it's an absolute chore just to play it and it's pure torture trying to just get a relic on it. At 3:02 I always fuck up on that part it just has to be luck since I've been trying to get this bitch done for the last few hours now and have had no luck on it. Fuck this level back to hell where it came from.
When I first played the game I died literally over 157 times. Even with the castle machinery green gem path. Now I have to get the platinum. Crash 1 is my favorite of the three but sometimes it really tests it's luck. (Also should I get the platinum relics for crash 2 and 3? Im only doing them for Crash 1 because it's my favorite but I want to know if the other 2 are easier.)
For anyone who is struggling with this and aren't too proud to use exploits, look up the world records. There are some glitches you can use to skip large portions of the level. The current record is under 2 minutes
Finished this with 3:26 and the gold relic. Was pissed when the Ancient Antiquity trophy didn't pop up, but then let out a sigh of relief when it unlocked at the Menu screen....
Its taking me literally three days and counting to actually get that piece of shit relic
Neon Socks i manage to get the gold relic and soon after told myself I need a rest from crash lmao the best possible advice I would give you is try to learn from each section of the level especially with the spikes the hardest part for me was getting on that last bird at the end of the level that bird is pure fucking cancer

I just went through that process and it was fun. All of them beaten apart from hog ride in crash 3. Best ps4 run I've ever seen is 36.80 but the dev time is 36.43
I suspect that dev time is impossible to beat without some glitch

For me it starts to get difficult at 1:15 and i die there everytime. Tbh i needed a few tries to get there but i will do the rest with a friend so we can laugh at our fails. It would be torture doing this alone alldaylong. Screw any records id be happy with the gold relic

Damn, it took me 4 hours to get gold on this. I should have taken a break after 2 hours, I finally got it when I took a rest and then tried again, on the sixth try I finally did it.
I did 3:11:04 which I thought was really far from platinum, but now that I'm seeing that the requirement is 3:10 it makes me rather disappointed in myself.
Nice job dude! My best is 3:25, got a video of it. But i did make it to the final triple bird jump in just under 3 minutes one time and fucked up what could've been my platinum run lol ill nab the plat relic soon enough tho!

Crash 4 levels are easier than this. U can double jump, slide and body slam.

a question for everyone. i read that high road and stormy ascent are the hardest, so i finished the two levels first. In contrast to these two, are the others very easy, or is there another difficult level?
The lab is a very difficult platinum. It's a short level but the time is extremely tight. U have to walk through gates whilst electricity is moving across.
Also sunset vista isn't easy as the level is long. Easy time though.

2:58 The very last section of this level is complete bullshit. The game throws two jumping sections that have literally never appeared anywhere else in the game and you have no way of practicing unless you make it to the end of the level. Fuck that moving bird + moving platform and moving triple bird section
