    Probably has a bad fan motor or compressor taking out the capacitor. Most likely just fixing the symptom.

    Just had a HVAC tech check unit, said I needed a new evaporator coil,cost of $2,800,it is still under warranty, does this amount sound high?

    • @markkotyakov2978
      @markkotyakov2978 Před měsícem +2

      Depends on the unit specs. But to remind an evaporator is A lot more work than people think, you have to recover the refrigerant and then you can cut and replace the evaporator or unburze and braise the new one in, then you have to do a leak check then you have to pull a deep vacuum get rid of moisture and then you can put the new refrigerant back in and charge up if needed. Call around to some other companies and get some quotes, quotes should be free so it's always nice to compare. But always go with the company that is more trustworthy rather than the price that looks the best

    • @Gus11445
      @Gus11445 Před měsícem

      Pretty average price for most companies. 4-6 hours of work, Evaporator price + $400-$500 dollars per hour of labor is standard for a reputable company.

    • @josephhagerman-vv3su
      @josephhagerman-vv3su Před 11 dny

      @@markkotyakov2978you don’t always have to full recover refrigerant. You can do a pump down and store the refrigerant in the compressor and then sweat the lines at the evaporator and remove then install new one do nitrogen leak test then if no leaks pull your vacuum and if it gets to 250 microns then let sit for 15 minutes then let refrigerant back out of compressor check pressures then see if you need to add a little extra from a little loss and bam. Your done. Oh don’t forget to replace the filter dryer in the process.

With so much peace and love, you should probably just get it serviced and inspected by a professional, especially with that rusty ass burnt ass shitty disconnect(not an electrical panel). Highly advise to get someone competent out dawg, plus warranties are nice if it goes bad for whatever reason.
