    The thing i hate about goblins is no matter what you do, no matter if you have kite shields on all your bros, there's like a 1 in 5 chance they will hit you 6 FRIGGIN' TIMES in a row with poisoned arrows while you throw a fit and break your keyboard in two. but don't mind me, very useful content much appreciated! :D

      @@CarveaHole i try to watch your HH run on the regular and i feel for you when that stuff happens man, by the way, do you have any idea on what start will you go next time? i would be interested in seeing a deserters or barbarian start if possible. Congrats on the growth of the channel!

    Thanks for this, I’ve never understood full formation fights. I usually look at terrain and do my best to move my entire team to an advantageous position. It’s nice to know some other Battle doctrines

    This is exactly one of the things I need to work on. I basically get stuck getting out of raider gear.

  • @tartalja

    Alp and necrosavants tactics are almost the same. I realized only recently that bannerman with ''rally the troops'' can wake up everyone whos nearby.
    Ancient undead is all about disrupting their line. So I send 1 team north (2 guys: hammer, axe or cleave) and another team down south (2 guys: hammer, axe or cleave). This will make them easy to kill.
    As for enemies that have a lot of archers (goblins or nomads) I prefer to fight at night. Especially goblins with shaman. Shaman will spend turn casting night vision, so no vines.

    • @CarveaHole
      @CarveaHole  Před 3 lety +1

      If I have my own ranged units I prefer to fight nomads/goblins during day, otherwise yeah night is the way to go. I forgot about alps but yeah it's similar to necrosavants.

      @@CarveaHole I also forgot to mention that I started spamming dogs. They are massive help, if you're willing to sacrifice amulet slot, for lets say chosen or orc fight. Chosen cleaver can spend 2 or or even 3 turns to land a hit on a dog. it completely delays their approach with a little bit of luck. Ai also prioritizes dogs (most of time). Massive for saving brothers.

    watched this video and just realized what I fought for around an hour was ancient undead when you talked about it. Don't look at names but it explains the hell I went through

  • @cow_mangler510

    I prefer just equipping cleavers for all the roster and spam "Behead" ability to fuck over necromancer

  • @boneman-calciumenjoyer8290

    What an interesting mindset.
    I've been playing this game since late 2015 and it never occurred to me, that you could use actual battle tactics and formations.
    I'm running the same combo of 3x tanks, 4x 2handers in the front and 3x polearms (one of them is the banner lad), 2x rangers (replaced them with 2x additional 2handers nowadays) in the back since then.
    Never had much of a problem on veteran to be honest, I suppose these tactics are necessary for expert? Then again, I'm not too much of a hardcore player, I beat the black monolith maybe 3 times in all those years and it's always a struggle.

    i'm playing with the legends mod. I have two main characters, two throwers, and they can kill everything. I have got some poleblades guys, and a lot of tanks, at least 10. between 80 to +110 melee defense, really high armor, and a lot of health.
    I oneshot chosen, nobles, i can kill unholds in 3 to 4 shots, but my main characters are not leveled up enough to get all the perks i want to make even more damages.
    I have literally 0 problems with anyone.
    I kill nobles and chosen like if they were thugs, undeads aren't a problem, orcs are easy, goblins are annoying because they are useless and too easy.
    The rolls are always too bad with me, so, with a really strong company, really high damages and really heavy mamoth guys, i am not afraid of anyone.
    But if there's something about strategy that i am sure is that we must kill all barbarians chosen and two handed reavers before killing unholds.

    Isn't Battle Brothers a RISK-type 'map painting' game with special attributes?

      @CarveaHole  Před 2 lety +1

      Do you think so?

    • @atlantic_love
      @atlantic_love Před 2 lety

      @@CarveaHole I'm beginning to think that on an abstract level, it is. RISK's very premise is that you bring as many men as you need, or that you have available, to battle, knowing that you will have to lose some to win some.
      Might be more self-preserving for you to just say you don't have an answer.

    • @CarveaHole
      @CarveaHole  Před 2 lety +7

      @@atlantic_love I don't know what you're going for with the tone of your last sentence but go off. There is of course that kind of risk in BB - people talk all the time about bait characters or trading a bro for gear. Maybe I'm not seeing the larger point you're trying to make.
