- In this episode of the Battle Brothers Fight Guide, I take on a whopping 32 orcs! Through my use of taunt, disarm, positioning, and mocking their crying, I escape without taking more than like four hits. It's a real UHMHMHMH moment for them.
I know this is a 3 year old video but I wanted to say I keep coming back to this vid just because it's so hilarious how you make fun of the orcs while smacking them around :D
Thanks for keepin' me entertained throughout my whole time with this game bro.
@@HTL1180 Glad you enjoy it! Sometimes when doing live commentary you get gems that would never happen with a post-commentary lol
If i see that the camp is too hard i wait a few days and come back cause sometimes part of the encamptment goes to patrol and becomes easier but i agree, encamptment with many berserkers are really hard to handle cause they usually have many warriors and your archers get caugth more or less easy but if for some reason they have peolthra of young, many berserkers and few warriors i go with 4 archers. If they dont have enougth warriors to break my formation, archers and 2hs do enougth dps to handle the camp tbh.
PD: Great vid, ty for the content. There isnt many BB content creators so its good hear new tips/opinions
seen a patrol leave a camp once, when passing by it. the famed item chance dropped from 30~% to -10%. so, if you wanna clear them, sure. but if you want good loot, it's best you dont wait for them to patrol.
Handgonnes are really good at taking apart massed orc warrior swarms. Specially if you have overwhelm and fearsome and high resolve. It can do some SERIOUS damage. Also swordlances are excellent for slicing up Orc Young.
I just got wiped on day 300 of a VVM Ironman run by a camp that's almost exactly like the one in the video. Everyone of my guys was melee or hybrid, but there were some weak links in the backline. There were 2 key moments where 1, my highest mDef tank suddenly got one-shot by a Berserker mansplitter on the top flank, and 2, a Warcry on the bottom flank made 2 tanks start breaking while raising every orc around to Confident. It was all downhill from there. I think a 300 armor on both body and head is necessary for tanks in this kind of fight, since otherwise a lucky hit from a mansplitter can completely turn the tide of battle.
very nice video. Crowd control and avoiding stuns are the key to big orc camps. The only thing I was missing was your guys actually getting hit. 2 unlucky axe hits can hurt a lot - and show an audience that these orc camps are not pushover parties.
But its hard to blame you for that lol
Yeah I recognize the largest faults of these videos is that I'm able to tank fights more than most people can, but to my credit I don't ever makes plays like "well I have high Mdef and armor so I can just take this berserker mansplitter no problem!". The tactics remain the same.
I just had my first encounter with an Orc Warlord two days ago, I figured there was a "boss" Orc out there, but I had no idea they would be that big. Like an Unhold sized giant with heater shields a shoulder armour, I am glad I had some military picks and pole hammers because then the fight would have turned out worse against 17 Orcs, I won with no deaths. (Ambushed against 17 young and one Warlord.)
PS Gladiator starting company, and assassins are fantastic.
Anit going to lie but I kind wana play as greenskins in battlebrothers got chop em Arder
"You are not a bitch if you save scum" Yes. Yes we are.
Press f for those mammoths
Also very well done video series, love it. I personally would welcome some fights from the newest dlc such as Ifrits and the library :)
I'll have to fight more of those to get a good enough grasp to make a video
So I am on a day 300, but all orc camps right now look exactly like this. 1-3 warlords, 5-10 beserkers, 11 warriors and some young. I can tank the warlords for a while. I can destroy beserkers fast with the DPS. But then the warriors will arrive and will just stun everyone and breake formation like crazy. I like the idea of leaving the backline empty, I will try that. Other than that I don't think I can defeat those camps yet.
I noticed that camping near the camps can sometimes spawn a patrol. Sometimes I have to kill an existing patrol first it looks like. Then it is like the camp is respawning with only 10 beserkers, which is a piece of cake. But I think the legendary chance drops as well at that point.
Multiple warlords? Are you getting the "orcs fight each other" event? I never see more than 1 warlord in usual cases.
I love this guy, I just wish the audio is better
It is now!
Berserkers are the reason I love Steel Brow. Man, seeing my Gigatank being suddenly splited in a half by a Berserker changed my opinion with that perk. I still have nightmares of that shit.
oh, day 800+ and guys with 110+ atk/60 defence full epic no surprise
Yes the team is very strong, but the tactics remain the same, sorry I couldn't provide something more realistic.
How would you know the tactics remain the same if you havent tried playing with brothers that get killed twice as fast?
@@Qlicky tactics would be the same but chance of combat casualties increase as quality of bros decreases
I went by an Orc camp and wanted to see what was in the camp. Bad idea. My bros were up against a special Orc Warlord(one with a name), a special Orc Warrior(again one with a name), 3 Orc Warriors, some Orc Berserkers, and some Orc Youngs. Let’s just say that fight did not end well for my bros.
Recently started playing BB, as hated the asthetics previously. Would have probably quit the game in the first 2 weeks, if not for content like this, that it is possible. Thanks for the content.
Aww thank you, I'm joyed that it's had a positive impact on you!
I did an easier orc camp (24orcs) earlier in the run (around day 150) but I only managed it after a few tries (reloaded the autosave). How I did it: you need very strong melee defense for your frontline. Setup:
1. Damage dealers. A 2 handed mace that deals massive damage to orc warriors. One with bardiche that hits 2 orcs in a single blow. These guys have like 40 Mdef, +80Mattack, high Fatigue, strong gear.
2. I had two tanks with rotate, good gear and amazing shields. They need to hold the flanks and use indomitable to not be pushed around for a few turns. I was lucky to get 2 very strong famed shields (in stores) and they have like 25 Mdef. I don't use shield wall since this prompts orcs to use SplitShield. Their shields will eventually break, but I have blacksmith to recover them. I used these guys to taunt the Warlord.
3. A strong backline with good weapons, I have a polehammer and a swordlance. 2 archers that need a little survivability and high ranged attack to pick off weakened orcs.
4. A seargent with strong resolve, to help out when the warlord cries and damage weakened orcs.
5. 3 more guys with semi-decent stats, living shields plus sword, military pick and axe respectively, to hold the line and rotate in the double handers and absorb stuns, pick off the orc young. These are liabilities, they can die from a berserker or whatever. But you really cant have everything on day 150.
9:25 Otwin out here as the damn main character
Why the f*ck did that look easy?! My rng was so bad i got my shield bearer broken when a orc landed 2 axe hits on a 5% chance yet i got archers who miss on a 75😭 this game i swear hate that i love it
RNG is a hell of a thing brother. I feel your pain.
i just dont get how you get to that level. been playing raiders. on day 90. been raiding like crazy, so all my bros are "well equipped" but nothing spectacular. only 2 famed items. as soon as noble crisis is over i will start going exclusively for camps. but then again, it just seems like even the easier fights i will lose well trained bros, just cause of rng, or just not having enough armor, or him missing that 1 perk or 2.
Any advice on how to tackle harder camps while starting out? In realistic scenarios most people wont be at day 800 with maxed brothers and named gear! Much love, thanks for the vids
Tactics don't change much but it's harder cause your gear is worse. I'd be sure to keep my mammoths near my regular frontline to taunt warriors. More whips would help too.
Lure someone inside so they take some enemies or buy you time
@@Qlicky You've made the same comment thrice on this video. I hope you're able to get the anger of losing to orc camps out on me :) if you want to send me a save file of your 140 day camp I'll see if I can beat it!
You will easily lose your famed shields to Orc Warriors. You'd better pick 2xHeater Shields or even better Spiral Shields.
so basically its all about day 800
The tactics work without this gear. The video "My favorite orc fight of 2021" has a good fight, and others do too but I can't think of them rn.
@@CarveaHole it's a great video, I'm just upset I can't beat them at day 280 and it would take a long time to fix wrong early decisions
OOOHHHAAAAHHHGHGH "so sad" 😆💀 26:12
Make the damned alps video.
on what difficulty are you playing? i rarely have problems with orc camps, but then again i've been playing on beginner and my "normal" difficulty campaign hasn't had any orc camps so far. I imagine it's the same; a lot of duelists with nets and 2handers and depending on berserkers some archers
Expert combat difficulty.
You need to search for camps and fimd them, they are in all difficulty levels
You rule dude
Thank you!
lol day 800+ everyone with 300/300+ gear
"How to beat a Massive Orc Warlord Camp"
Fun video though
Yeahh not the best representation of consequences but the tactics work nonetheless. Thanks though :)
@@CarveaHole Nah, they really dont. Would love to see you try this day 150 and see how much it really works.
@@Qlicky If you don't believe me then watch the second fight of Horrible Hybrids Episode 47 (day 183) and Favorite Orc Fight of 2021 (day 210 or something). There are people who clear the game in quicker times and can take these fights earlier, but I don't have those videos off hand.
@@CarveaHole Just watched it. We're not talking about nearly as dangerous composition of enemies here. Your 183 day camp looks at least 50% more easy than what Im talking about day 140. And thats with 43 days more on the clock.
My complaint was about very similar output I faced on day 140 to the one you're showing here on day 800. It might have been even worse.
And my further complaint is about why would the game even create such instances this early.
My biggest beef with this video is that you're going by the logic that tactics work in the same way, even though early on your guys are a lot more likely to be hit, more likely to miss, have lower morale, a lot worse gear, can not swing as much and do not kill enemies as fast.
Sure, tactics remain the same. It's just that heads of brothers fly off a lot more.
I just tried a fight against 13 orc warriors, warlord, berserker, and 8 orc young.
I lost lol
That sounds hard lol. Try moving your tanks forward and getting them trapped onto 3-4 warriors each. That's 6+ warriors out of the fight
Are you using mod? One of your archers have Ranged Skill higher than is possible in vanilla, I think. Regardless a good exposition!
No mods here. There's a limit on ranged skill? My archer is like level 21 or something and he rolled really well so it's just high.
@@CarveaHole Well, no hard "limit" per se, but you can sort of calculate. 59 is the max starting Hunter Ranged Skill, the best you can probably do during the level-ups is 8 4s out of 10. So in an exceptionally lucky situation, you'd reach 107 by level 11. Then you can only get 1 Ranged Skill per level, and the rest depends on luck with the two archery Events.
@@alfarabi73 And gifted, but yeah.
+gifted + trait
@@Jewus19 There is no Trait that increases your Ranged Skill.
Why don't you use nets?
I largely don't think I need to. 2h bros can't wield nets and the duelists would rather be attacking. Who do you think should be netted?
@@CarveaHole warlord to guarantee disarm and stun, flanking berserks. Duelists with qh and throwing mastery is the best pick as they usually loose just one hit, I think it's worth it, whip bros is also an option, providing they don't have to disarm in this turn.
That was an extremely lucky fight. Your tanks literally took 0 damages while being encircled by that much enemies. You are playing them well, they need to be played like this. But, how can you get 0 hits from so many rolls ? the minimum hitchance is 5%. Two of your tanks was encircled by 5 orcs, who have 2 attacks per turns. so, 10 attacks on them each turn.
I don't say that you are lucky because you should have lose one men or two here, not at all. They are way too strong for those kind of little camps. And you played very well. But, they took 0 hits.
I really want your rolls !
exactly what i was thinking, like, no hits for that long is kinda crazy
Yeah but guys they wouldn't have died anyway cause indom. Sure lucky but not a huge deal right?
@@CarveaHole yes not a huge deal, there was no way one of the tank could die anyway
@@CarveaHole oh no for sure, it's just weird rng !
sea of tents always a nightmare to me, my team always got surrounded, to the point i consider restart with Militia origin for more team member, but must drop halfway because early game of Militia too harsh, with team of bunch low skill and poor equipment
but with the new dlc and lots of new consumable like fire bomb and smoke bombs, i think player will have more space to breath in this fight
once time i successful lure a plethora of Nachzehrer (23) to sea of tents and have really fun fight xD
I move my mammoths out to the flank to trap 3-5 orcs onto each of them. Let's say it's 12v30. If two mammoths can get 4 orcs each, then it's 10v22 which is way better. That way it's harder to get surrounded. Getting surrounded is when these fights go to hell.
@@CarveaHole tks, i learned alots about positioning from your vid.
btw, i noticed your tank not attack at all, except spearwall at the begining, is it to save fatigue for indom and taunt when needed right?
@@Ruki1411 That's one reason. It's also because I have never leveled Matk on them so they're sitting around 50-60. Furthermore, hitting with a spear won't do anything. So yeah it's for stam and AP for taunt/indom.
could you make a guide on how to snowball the erly to mid game
Take a mercenary fight and try and steal as much gear as possible, easy first step. Raiding noble house units also helps greatly here.
How did you get such a detailed scouting report
That's how the base game works.
@@CarveaHole currently mine only says few, some, many, plethora, etc. I was wondering how yours show an exact number. Is it a brother background?
@@alphonsecoco3 Ohh. My game says the same "few, many, plethora" but I've learned what those ranges refer to. Few = 2-3, Some = 4-6, Many = 7-10, A Lot of = 11-13, Plethora = 14+ . Just something I've picked up after playing
