  • Hello CZcamsrs.
Let`s talk a little bit about Assus Vivobook S laptop which is a great and pretty affordable alternative for video and photo editing. Is it good enough???? We`ll see in this video.
With a starting price of $799 (about £617, 800Eur), the Asus VivoBook S is a moderately-priced laptop that’s sure to attract attention from students and the casual user. It’s powerful and has a large display, yet is still portable enough to tote around in a backpack.
The plastic base of the VivoBook S is a mirage. Its brushed finish gives the impression it’s a metal housing from afar. It’s only after you pay closer attention do you realize the optical illusion, designed to match the aluminum lid that protects the display when the lid is closed.
The slight taper from the hinge to the front of the housing is reminiscent of the MacBook Air, albeit on a larger scale. Weighing in at 3.3 pounds (1.5kg), the VivoBook S is slightly heavier than the XPS 13 (2.9 pounds or 1.29kg), but that’s expected due to the difference in size.
Overall, there’s solid feel to the build quality, as if it can withstand an accidental drop off your desk - though, we don’t suggest you try it. And, with the combination of plastic and aluminum that looks nearly identical, Asus is able keep the VivoBook S at an affordable price point without sacrificing looks.
But let`s see how it performs in real world photo editing or 4k video editing .

Thank you for posting, I've been considering for my photography but wasn't sure if it would be fast enough.

      No not at all.
At the end I decided to buy the Asus FX753V gaming laptop and I didn't regret at all.

I've been using laptops for all my computing needs but this year I'll buy my first desktop computer. The demands of post editing require that I get something substantially faster but also I need to upgrade to a higher end Adobe RGB monitor. I'm still researching my options, will I go for an off the shelf solution or a bespoke build. Fortunately I don't edit video but I'll want plenty of headroom for future needs just in case. I'm not sure 8GB RAM in any computer is enough these days, heck smartphones have up to 6GB of RAM these days. The problem as always is price, finding that balance between performance and price is difficult. Still the laptop you show here would be sufficient to do photo editing on the go 😊

dunnymonster for photo editing definitely enough big time. 8gb ram in a PC is enough for photo editing and also for video editing if you have an i7 processor and at least a 2GB graphics card. But the best would be a 4gb graphic card.
