I bought a new FZ6 in 2006 , great bike , great handling a do it all bike and its comfortable. For a 600cc it goes like stink but I still wished for more power when doing long road trips. Cant wait to test ride this new version :]
Really looks the part the FZ8. Plenty of torque. But don,t give it the gas on very very slightly bumpy corner. It shakes it head and lets you know its not happy.
They didn't address the fuel injection on this thing. Yamaha's always had problems getting fuel injection to work properly on many of their models -- the older FZ6 and FZ1 come to mind -- so I hope the FZ8 has this issue sorted out.
I wonder if there are affordable lower fairing to fit on the Fazer8 which already has upper ones. And to ppl who are saying "dont buy naked bike if you want fairings" i'm gonna anwser: full fairings bikes are only super sport ones here in Canada and they are VERY expensive to immatriculate + insurances. So I want the sportyness of this bike and I also want fairings. Good looking ones and not to expensive. Any ideas?
Ok, someone explain this to me. The Fazer 600 has 98bhp at 180kg while the Fazer 8 has a mere 8bhp more but weighs a whooping 216kg. How is this bike an improvement on the 600?
Don't come to Canada then haha. This is a Canadian video and here many say "ZED" not "ZEE". The reason for this is Canada went with British and French spelling and pronunciation of some words. Apparently the use of ZED is common even outside of Britain in other English speaking countries.
wow stock exhaust it does not even sound remotely like and inline 4 but i see all these videos or people with this bike and they have that typical supersport inline 4 scream to it..obviously to fully appreciate this bike one need to get an aftermarket exhaust put on.
blah. can you believe it? the fazer looks awesome but a 800 cc motor? why would they do that instead of making a fz 1100 or even with the genisis engine design? everybody raises 2 teeth on the back and drops 1 tooth on the front of there current fz1 should tell you something. they want there rides faster. "ideal" is bags of grunt without having to sacrifice highway crusing rpm and longevity. a fz 1100 geared with the looks of the "2011 fazer 800" uber!
fz6 is the worst in its class, poor low and mid range power compared to all its competitors. FZ8 has poor fuelling and can barely match the old kawasaki z750, against the z800 it falls short very fast. The new MT series is a totally different story, mt07,mt09 and the new mt/fz 09 fazer are great, especially the new fazer.
MissMan666 I rode my friends fz6 I believe it was an 05...it was way faster than the fz08s. I believe at that time they were detuned R6 engines that redlined to 15k. in 3rd gear I was hitting 120 mph. it topped out at 150+. sad they don't make them that way anymore

@802iin
One light is for main beam and the other is for high beam, the old FZ6 lights are the same. :)
I have an 05 FZ6 and it's a great bike all around. If I decided to get a more powerful version I would get the FZ1. No need to be half stepping.
lol, if you are going to take your wife or someone else's wife for sport touring? lol Priceless!
More common that you think.
@paolo27th Don't worry mate, this new fz8 has more than 30% torque than the old fz6 (increased from 6.4 kgfm to 8.4).
@someblackguy23 Neil Graham is the MAN ! Loved that comment !

Anybody know if there's a full fairing kit for the fz8 I hear it gets real shaky at 70+ mph on naked bikes
@mohsin19999995 yeah saw it yesterday they are releasing it in Dec 2010 in the US

How would you compare the 2011 fazer 8 to the 2014 fz09 . I have to make decision on which one buy.Which one would you recommend
Mark Samborski fz09 by far ! much better engine.
Don't know where you need to ride 120+ mph, but this is a 800cc I4. It'll do more than 120.
@JayzBeerz um they do now

In India..!! They make a 150CC of that model..! :D

R1 forks and cams and there you go.
Those fucking turn signals sticking out like that is a big no-no. When will manufacturers learn that if it has a fairing, INTEGRATE THEM!
Traz pro brasil yamaha nao perde tempo si nao sou obrigado comprar outra
Fz6 looks better than the fz8, too bad they don't sell them new anymore.
too bad the US market don't get this bike, bad yamaha
in canada taking someone else´s wife to a ride is something very common
😂
Lol, "Yam-a-ha"

"ZEEEEE" is how us Americans say it..... "ZED" is how the educated people of the world say it.

someone elses wife is bettar
why cant the new fz's look nice like the old fz's, these ones are so boring.
Why do you want to know top speed? It's irrelevant.
@802iin never buy a motorcycle
