I’ve been watching Henry ever since his early 20’, and through him grew my obsession with modding skyrim😂 I still find Henry’s humor funny because he hasn’t changed through out the years watching him. Jeannie or genie or jeannnie or whatever you spell her name😂 has been a great addition to the channel, not to sound condescending or discredit her. I appreciate the maturity Henry has found through her. If you’re reading this Henry or Jeannie, I hope you guys know your videos have helped me get through the hardest days in my life. I hope you guys stay on CZcams for a long time and don’t jinx retiring!!
The watermelon cracking one reminded me of the goodbye party we threw after our final exams in highschool. We went to the lake, we bought wine, beer, cola, some random snacks and a watermelon. After playing in the water with a boulder for some time we say "it's time to eat". Problem, we didn't bring knives to open it. Solution? One guy held the watermelon, another one punched it and a third held a plastic bag under it to catch it. It worked, so I dunno
The battery thing only works if you make a really thin bridge in the middle of the gum wrapper. When you short the two terminals on a battery with the wrapper, a constant stream of electrons will flow through the foil on the wrapper, and if there's a thin bit in the middle it heats up since it has to pass more electrons over a much smaller area of conductive foil. You missed making the thin bridge, so it heated up evenly and you had to let go before it actually caught fire.
Also in the video he was using lint as kindling, which catches fire easily.

i feel like they were super lucky that they did in fact miss making the bridge considering they used eins hair for kindling
They had liquids there to put it out had they succeeded, so I don't see the issue. But it would've been better if they had done that one outdoors.

The "tinder" they had was steel wool, it ignites when putting even a small voltage across it because it's conductive and the strands are so thin they heat up enough to burn, same as in a lightbulb.
Wanted to say the same. Steel wool can ignite even without shortening out the battery. Works extremely well with 9 V (PP3) batteries. It can start a literally dumpster fire if you throw both in the trash

Life hack for jars use rounded knife or flathead screwdriver put it up and under jar lid then lift until you hear a pop then open jar easy.
@@wolfgar7423 Or a spoon/fork's bottom end(if it's flat). Stronger than a knife, more easily accessible in the kitchen than a screwdriver. Also i usually twist, not lift, less chance of deformation i found.
Simplest way of opening a vacuumed jar. Is to turn it sideways 100 dergrees and smack it on its ass.. That breaks the seal..

The random tinder the guy had was just some dryer lint. It's really flammable and that's why you're supposed to clean the vent and filter. The reason the gum wrapper is cut thin in the middle is to decrease the resistance, therefore heating the metallic bits by pumping more electrons through than it can handle! :D

watching henry do the padlock, twist it the wrong way then say the life hack doesnt work is more amusing than the life hack itself.
I used that hack to open a proper lock, it saved my butt a 3 hour drive to go get the key. The trick is to keep the cut smooth to minimize the chance to rip like it did for Henry

While Ein fur would be a good kindling he was using steel wool which lights up very fast. Like just sticking a 9v battery to one will start smoldering it. Also you didn't make your bridge "wire" aka the gum wrapper thin enough in the middle. This technique is using the same principles of electricity and heat that an incandescent light bulb uses to make light and heat as a by product. Just in this case heat is the product you want and any light is a by product.
The pool noodle is just stupid. If you are that cold, just wear a long sleeve shirt and pull the cuff of the sleeves over your finders. Use your fingers to keep the sleeve open place your hand up to the vent. Works just as well with A/C if you are an outdoor worker that wears long sleeves to protect from sun.

I’m no photographer, so I don’t know why it caught my attention, or why it got me to writing about it.

The battery and gum wrapper works better when you cut the thin part a bit thinner than you did. It acts like a fuse. If its too large it just heats everything up instead of the thin part. Great Video!
If you pay closer attention to how they are doing it in the video at 03:23, you can see that they don't hold the jar so the tape is aimed at them, rather, the tape is aimed away and to the side of them.
You'll also notice that before they even start pulling, they folded the tape on itself, this was done to make sure it wouldn't stick to the lid past the point they wanted it to stick.
All they want is the tape to be placed straight, with no turns on the lid, so that when they then pull on the tape, it is pulling the lid in the direction that they want it pulled.
The way Henry applied the tape 03:58 made it so the tape was facing him, meaning that he wasn't pulling on the lid at all, and that's partly why it didn't work. It also looks like not only did he apply it along the side and around quite a bit of the lid, but that the tape also stuck to the jar itself.
The other part for why it didn't work was the unnaturally tight seal on that lid, I would imagine that this hack is mostly meant for people with weaker wrists or muscles or other reasons for not being able to open lids that other people could open rather easily.
Henry had to really use his muscles to even attempt to pull on the tape to get the lid to budge, and even more so when he tried the good old method of hand on the lid to open it.
Now, I have never met Henry in person, or online for that matter, I don't know how strong he is, but I doubt he's very weak, so if he struggled this much to open that lid, I highly doubt even doing the hack properly would have done much good for him.
I enjoyed this video, because it gave us the chance to see you guys working together to test these things out. The IRL nature of the video added to the enjoyment.

The Jar had other plans than some mere Duct Tape, it was to make Henry stuggle to open the Jar with full bewilderment of how tightly packed this simple Jar was .... never underestimate a Jar's strength 💪
I make "air forts" every summer. Get a sheet that's much larger than your bed, and tuck in the edges but leave one end open for the fan. Sooo comfy.
