  • Welcome back to the world of bourbon! It feels like so long since something new appeared in the UK, luckily that wait is over...for me, anyway.
Rabbit Hole is the concept of Kaveh Zamanian, a former clinical psychologist, now whisky maker! Here we have the Heigold, a Kentucky straight bourbon with 70% corn, 25% malted German rye, and 5% malted barley. The name Heigold and the inclusion of German rye specifically is a reference to a German rock cutter who moved to Kentucky in the 1800s. Lacking in the tropical fruit area, but very strong in the heavy spice and butterscotch flavour profile, Rabbit Hole Heigold is a relatively affordable and powerful style of bourbon that stands up on its own and probably in your favourite cocktail.

Watching from Buffalo, New York, USA. Rabbit Hole, one of my favorite bourbons. The founder is from Germany and his wife is from the USA. After they moved here, she indroduced him to bourbon and he was hooked. He was so taken by it that he started a distillery. Once he started,he was all in 100 percent. Every thing with his distillery and products is of the best materials. He said that shortly after the start he knew that he had fallen down the "Rabbit Hole", and so the name. All their stuff is very good. He cuts no corners from grains, yeast to barrels. Love your reviews. Keep it up. Thanks....

Now that you mentioned the angular label that is similar to JW, they might actually get sued if Diageo is watching! 😆😆 Poor buggers!!

Hope you're feeling okay. Sounded a bit under the weather.
