      50 , 1/2 ounce are $17-18 , 1 ounce are $29-50+ depending on if you are buying regular bullion rounds or rare collectors coins, 2 ounce silver rounds and coins right now are about $66-74 , then there's a few 5 ounce silver rounds out there for about $155-165 a piece depending on which ones you buy, even can get 1 kilo silver rounds for just under $1000 , they're like the size of a a softball in diameter and almost an inch thick , would love to have a few of those lol. Absolutely, hundreds of fiat currencies have come and gone yet the value of precious metals has remained constant for thousands of years. You could purchase a fine men's suit 100 years ago for 1oz of gold, the same is true today, however the purchasing power of the dollar is below 4% of what it was 100 years ago.

    If you can get a deal on fractional silver, I say go for it. Unfortunately, as others below have said, the damn premiums are too high. Here in North America, the best and cheapest bet, is on dimes, quarters and half dollars, or as we say in Canada, 10, 25 and 50 cent pieces. These I have in quantity from both countries. I just finished watching SalivateMetal's video on Kennedy half dollars. It's best to cherry pick BU examples, rather than getting slick examples sight unseen. Someday, they will become collectibles, assuming the S doesn't hit the F.

    • @StackerNoobUK

      As I say I would love to be on that side of the pond but the premiums on US silver over hear are basically just as high sometimes as buying BU fractionals. I have alot of US family though so next time I'm over you know Im going coin roll hunting! Cheers Metéo my man!

I've never seen one, also heard that some 1/3 and 1.5 ounce silver coins or rounds exist but haven't been able to find them yet except for one single type of 1.5 ounce silver coin minted by the Canadian national mint but I've only found them online advertised by two suppliers and both have been out of stock for months, the Canadians also offer a few 5 ounce silver coins , though at 5 ounces I think I'd prefer stackable bars instead of rounds or coins , a coin that big would prob look pretty goofy kindy like the couple this guy has on his table in this video , they def look goofy lol.

  • @angryagain68
    @angryagain68 Před 5 lety +2

    I've been wanting to add some of these too. The markup is a bit off putting though. Here in the US adding a quantity of 90% junk silver US coins might serve the same function as fractional for smaller purchases. Thoughts?

    • @StackerNoobUK
      @StackerNoobUK  Před 5 lety

      Exactly right. If I were in the US I would be stacking 90% silver as my fractional pile!

    • @ericdrisgula3879
      @ericdrisgula3879 Před 3 lety

      The 90% US minted "junk silver" does seem like a good alternative to fractional rounds and coins but I see one problem with them. And that is they do not have they type of metal and percentage printed on them nor do they have their weight in silver stamped on them either . So in a the shit hits the fan scenario where the dollar collapses completely your gonna find most people don't have a damn clue what 90% junk silver coins are let alone how to verify they are legit I.E by inspecting the stamped date with a magnifying glass to ensure it hasn't been altered in some way to turn a tin coin into a 90% silver coin ya know. So in strictly barter and trade conditions those whom aren't educated on the value and how to identify junk silver will prob not accept any junk silver as payment or partial payment for whatever they may be giving/selling you so I think in the end fractional coins and silver fractional and non fractional rounds/bars with the purity and metal type as well as weight all clearly stamped on the coin/round is what will make fractional rounds far superior and more useful in getting done paying for items you need out in the everyman for themselves Armageddon like world if that day comes , and I do think it very well may.

    Man I just went online to buy a few rounds yesterday and was kinda surprised to see that silver is currently just a hair below $26 an ounce , which is cheap compared to I think it was only about 5-6 weeks ago where I saw silver was almost at $29 an ounce. Silver is in the next couple years going to increase intensely in value I believe, the reason I believe this is I read a few science and technology articles and blogs that gave some statistics talking about quantities of resources man kind needs in the near future to continue producing the technology we've grown used to which runs the world as well as some technologies that aren't here yet but will be in a few years, and the reason why I believe the price of silver will sore is because there was something like only 65-70% of the total required silver needed to build all the technologies mankind will need in the next 5 or so years that is left throughout the entire earth still yet unmined which is far far short of what's needed just for the somewhat near future let alone the distant future, this is gonna cause a battle for many corporations to engage in which is gonna be a bloody race to see who can round up the greatest amount of silver to set aside to reassure them they can build all their planned technologies for say the next 10 years or so , in this type of a shortage where the producing of technology will drice the demand for silver I can see silver easily exceeding $100 an ounce , possibly even getting close to the value of platenum depending on just how short the world is gonna end up in regards to how much silver is left to mine as well as resmelting and repurposing of already mined and minted silver will be worth. Which is why I'm rolling my dice and jumping on silver , with close focus on 1/10, 1/2, 1ou, 2, 5, and 10 ounce rounds and bars as well as 100g-1000g bars if my financial situation ever allows for such a large purchase of silver at once , I'm focused on the 1/10th , 1/2 and 1 ounce silver rounds particularly though , the quarter ounce fractional rounds are too expensive compared to spot and a couple 1/10 ounce rounds can easily fill the shoes of a 1/4 ounce round when needed , I'd live to horde 2 ounce rounds as well but they are all from what I've seen too far over spot , significantly more over spot than standard 1 ounce rounds. I did just only today find out that there is a 2 ounce walking liberty round but the two suppliers I came across both were sold out with no posted expected date as to when they'll be back in stock, these were actually affordable and very close to the 1 ounce rounds in price over spot comparisons , think they were $66 or $67 each which isn't bad for a 2 ounce round , and they come in rolls of 10

  • @bongsound
    @bongsound Před 5 lety +1

    I do like the look of that fractional, but the premiums are too much for me. I disagree with your comment on UK junk not being very useful. I would think that a lot of people, for now anyway, would recognise old silver coins. If not, any reputable bullion dealer would recognise them. Also, in the US their coinage is still silver but it still has a face value, in hyperinflation a silver dollar is still worth a dollar unless you sell to a dealer/collector. Otherwise, great video mate!

If the economy really goes to shit even the 1/4 coins might be too valuable for any single purchase. There is almost no Silver currency in circulation in the U.S. Yes, you can find occasional half-dollars, but that's because no one uses half-dollars in the U.S. and they've likely be sitting in bank vaults for the last 30 years. Additionally, you always have some moron turning in their dad's coin collection to the bank for money, not realizing that the money is made of Silver and worth far more than what he'll get. That happens alot. I've even seen people trying to buy cigarettes with 11 American Silver Eagles, having no idea, that they are really turning over $160+. That's the only reason you find Silver circulating in the U.S. The amount of Silver that circulates in the U.S. is miniscule, and it has been so for multiple decades. They've basically been out of circulation since the 1970s.
