After church a numbers of families from the church stay there and make a dinner for ourselves (and anyone else who does not have any place to go) It is a HUGE spread of all sorts of home made foods: ham, sweet potato, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, roasts at least 3 different types of salad and enough desserts to keep the poundage on until at least July. The best part is that because we do it at church, no one has to do the housework ahead of time and everyone helps with the clean up. When we get home, we can just sit down and enjoy being together.
LOL my favorite is Jolly Rancher jelly beans. SO GOOD!!
YUM! You had me at jelly beans! My total achilles heal :)
Very helpful & as soon as I saw your pencils in that tray, I slapped my forehead & said, "I could had a V-8". Lol. A very 70s commercial bcz the first bowls I thought to use are 70s mod blue glass shallow oval bowl things. Blue isn't my color & mod isn't my style, but I always loved these & they were my aunt's, but I have NEVER put them out for anything. Can't wait to locate, rescue, & implement them.
Great idea using other color pellets already done for us. I have beautiful colored pencil set and want to use them. It is difficult choosing colors for coloring pages. Now I have a place to start with and also great tips on how to add in extra colors too. Thanks!
Hi, Rachel! Our family many years ago had to do our egg hunt at night. We called it our midnighrt hunt. We hide eggs normally.we use flashlights to look for the eggs. each person had an inexpensive flashlights! We liked it and still use this method from time to time!
Hiding Easter candy like this is also fun!!!
I was wondering about the lamp in this picture. Did you not color it at all?
I l ove the curtain idea too!
BRAVO! Bravo! BRAVO!!
You always inspire! Keep it up!! Thank you!
I am so glad you did this follow up video to the choosing a color palette. It puts everything together visually.
Thanks! Yeah I think it was a great follow up to see it in practical use. Glad you enjoyed!
Favourite memory is of doing Easter Egg hunts. We had stopped as we got older but one year my big brother came home from university and set one up for me. We were finding jelly beans for months!
Another keeper video! Cute picture too, A favorite tradition is to hide the kids' Easter baskets somewhere in the house . . . The older they got the more creative. My son never did find his basket when he was 15. He looked off and on for about 1.5 hours and I ended up having to play the hot/cold game until he found it! Hope you have a lovely Easter weekend.
Oh that is too funny!!! You must have found a great hiding spot!!
Have a lovely Easter weekend, too!
Loved this video. I have a couple of pages that look as if the entire pencil palette threw up on the page! Good analogy! Thank you
Every artist have been using caran d'ache. I'm so happy i found a great artist still using prismacolor like me! And tutorials are even better. Thanks!
Favorite traditions are going to church and getting together with family for Easter dinner. Thanks for the video!
Yum, enjoy!! Thanks for watching!
I really wish to see color and chat in real time from you, I don't mind if they are becoming 2 hours video. Really love your techniques and would love to see more and hear more from you. thanks for sharing your talent.
I’m learning so much from your videos. Thank you!
Favorite Easter tradition is attending church with family and friends and lunch at home with the family🌅
Love the fixative idea... thanks
What a great companion / finishing piece. I recently picked up a small artist tote ($5 @ Michael's) to keep my current project supplies together. I primarily color in bed (chronic pain is an activity thief) and I'm constantly searching for my eraser / sharpener / specific pencils. Now I'm going to add a small tray or flat sided box for my pencils. I followed the first video - making a project swatch card - it's so much easier than using the large 150 color chart and helped me from adding too many additional colors. It also helps to see if there is a missing element in the initial planning phase. Happy Easter and please continue your tutorials - especially those for the newer colorists. While they may seem to be obvious to experienced artists, your explanation of techniques and basic tips are appreciated by someone just starting out.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is exactly what I've needed. You have greatly inspired me. I've been thinking on these color palettes for a while but couldn't quite figure out how to actually make them work for me. And your teaching style is "on point" for me.
I like your new Title animation! It really cool how the pencils roll out to show your title.❤
I really enjoy your tutorials! Thank you so much for sharing your talent!
Love 💕 this one
So beautiful love the colour chart 🐥
AMAZING!! I got bored with coloring but now I feel quite inspired! Thank you!
A perfect compliment to your color selection video, wonderful! Thanks and Happy Easter :-)
This is really helpful!
I love your videos and altho im new here already love the cohesive flow of lessons and your tone and voice and quality of content...simply awesome!
Thank you for the lovely video - your pictures are always beautiful and inspiring. I like the tray idea; but, I have been using a silverware tray from Walmart since I saw you use one on earlier videos. I like the bigger part in the end for black Pitt markers, blender pencils, and my eraser. Very handy to pick up and go to a different location.
I will be spending the day with friends. I would like to wish a Happy Easter to you, your family and all the pencilstash fans
Great video.
Thank you for giving us a method from which to select a palette. I already have several of the images you showed on my Pinterest page. I have trouble picking colors so this will help me a lot.
I love how your picture came out! I just recently started using a small pencil box to keep the colors I am currently using in. Like your tray, it makes thing much easier. I also put an electric eraser and pencil sharpener in since I tend to color in different spots.
It makes such a difference! I'm loving this tray. Keeps everything more together. Usually (off camera) my gear is all spread out and this keeps it all nice and contained :)
Do you have a video that goes in depth on blending? Not necessarily how to blend but knowing which colors to blend together? I know like different shades of the same color but I cant seem to make them look right for some reason. Or should I blend different colors together???
Also Im sure you have a few highlighting and shadow videos. Is there a good one for beginners?
What is that, a Witches hat? 😂. I’m enjoying learning from you. Your voice is nice and I love your palette tips! I’ve struggled with that. I want to use every color in my stash. Fun coloring but looks awful. Thanks, I’m headed to Pinterest for ideas.
My favorite Easter candy is Peeps!
Beautiful, I wish you would have shared the pencils you used.(colors). I loved the tutorial.
Hey there! Yeah, sorry about that, all the colors were listed on the cheat sheet in the last video if you're curious!
Question - can you use a wax-based blender pencil on oil-based pencils, or do you need separate kinds? Thanks, really enjoying your videos! 😊
We look forward to a quiet day together. Wonderful video & tips. Ty.
I love quiet days, too :) Enjoy!
In my family we honor those who have passed away by having their favorite pie..usually it ends up with several kinds
As a warning, test your pencils and whatever media you are using with the fixative before spraying your finished picture. I just finished a picture that had gel pens on it. I wasn't sure if they would react so I sprayed my test paper. Surprisingly, the gel pens were ok but my #28 schpirerr farben changed color. I am so glad I tested.
Oh no! Good to know, I didn't realize that fixative could alter your colors! I haven't experienced that. Thanks for the tip
I think the pencil changing was my fault. I think I sprayed too close. I watched a few videos and did a lot of testing on scrap paper. I was able to put a very thin coat on from far away. That said, watching the other videos, one showed pen and marker changing color with the spray. It definitely doesn't hurt to test.
May Isuggest looking at the proportion of each color in the example on Pinterest and not introducing a dark brown because that's where the eyes focus.
Can you explain the shading and light sources in the page?
Everyone going to church with my grandfather:)
Lol “lots of opportunities to paralyze you with fear”, haha
