The solution: buy ALL the manual Murcis!!!
I agree with Ed!!
Have you ever heard of some lunatic trying to destroy other examples of the rare car he owns in order to increase the value of the one he owns? There are so many nut jobs (among the even more plentiful sane people) in the car world, surely some 'genius' has hatched that plan at some point?
I vaguely remember a few cases of someone legit just trying to buy ALL examples of a certain rare car, but that's not illegal nor nefarious. Perhaps one was a bit iffy as I recall him trying to conceal the number of those cars he had in his possession though... But I can't remember which cars those cases were about, it was such a long time ago.
YES! 😂
Yes!
You certainly lead by example!
Ed is trying to create an additional layer of scarcity in the manual Murci market. 😅
Understandably.
Dude built a whole channel and APP just to up the value of his car
Speaking of the MC12 : "If you're a collector with one just put it away" tells you all there is to know about curated. Don't drive your cars put them away.
That’s my only complaint with John. He would rather see a car under garage lights than sunlight, pushed through a convention hall than ripping up mountain roads, parked not driving. It’s obvious how passionate he is and knowledgeable I just don’t understand the idea of making these cars an investment only. If you can afford a 2 million dollar limited production super car, you can afford to sell it with more miles for less money.
@@Will-eo8wd johns the type of guy who wont bang his wife so the next guy can have a tight fit
@Will-eo8wd that and one episode where they were at Curated with Ed Bolian and they were talking about a Murci I believe. Ed said some stuff about it that John had never heard before, and it really surprised me that he didn't know about it.
There are some cars it's better for because some of them you just cannot get parts to fix them. So you can drive them but if it breaks that's it.
@@John-du2mq Lol complete BS there's no fix money can't buy. Ferrari will legit build you a new Enzo from scratch.
With the amount that he says rare in this video, you'd think he's a Corvette owner. I'd just wish that he'd be as passionate about the cars as he is about pumping up the values. It made my skin crawl when he bragged about taking the muira from an enthusiast and selling to a "collector" whatever that means
As he has proved through the story of the turbo Countach, the best thing to do when John calls you is to block his number. That poor car is now locked away in a vehicle investment pool.
All these cars have nothing on my 1994 Honda civic sedan with a moonroof & stick and VTEC. 😎
Don’t ever sell that history
@@BrownSofaGamerBrand new piece of history!😂
@@BrownSofaGamer clean too! Original engine. Everything! Shoot the Ac still works 😁👍
He didn't regret selling any of these cars unless it was because he could have made a better deal elsewhere.
Nigel Mansell's first win at Ferrari was also notable for:
- first win by an N/A car since the 1983 Detroit Grand Prix by Michele Alboreto's Tyrell
- last Grand Prix held in Rio's now demolished Jacarepaguá
To suggest a Diablo (no matter how special) is in the same realm of value as a McLaren F1 GTR is an absolute joke.
Also, did John suggest the Miami Vice car is worth $100 million?
Amazing how every car is special, like wow a rich guy owned it, therefore its storied. Or wow, its the only one with red paint, blue trim, gold steering wheel and cotton candy interior
Wow!
He basically said that everybody bought these cars because they are appreciating and wont sell e'm for the next 50 years. basically eliminating the chance for anybody with even a deep 6 figure budget to afford them
You meant to say 7 or 8 figure budget
@@shaunpodolski2423 these cars used to be 6 figure cars not too long ago. but john has been raving about how rare these things are and that everybody needs to buy them and store them forever. a million dollars today couldn't buy you a nice carrera GT anymore. they were 600-800 k less than 2 years ago. they made over a 1000 of them
The people buying these cars don't have "budgets". They buy them based on their wants, and if they are a good investment or not.
@@floodx4947 some of these cars weren't collector cars a few years ago. countach's were ignored by everybody. now they hyped it up and now its a 500k car
of course john have the only one in the world, the most expensive, the most original, the most special, the most american spec, the most one owner..this is why people hate car salesman..
Can’t stand it. Not true car enthusiasts, seems like more concerned with money and status and uses cars as a way to achieve it
Said it before, and I’ll say it again. Temerian gives me super strong ‘sleezy used car salesman’ vibes…
especially when he compared F1 GTR with a Diablo. ‘F1 goes for 30 mil but Diablo is even more special’ GTFO.
That silver AMG Hammer is a very big loss on the Curated part. Such a great looking car with such an amazing story. Bet he sold it for under a quater of a million and the car with it's story is worth about $1.5 million+
No AMG hammer is truly worth 250 grand. Not a single one. Especially a high mileage 4 door.
I bet the guy who bought it knew exactly what the history and potential value was.
For god sake's people DRIVE your damn cars!
I was in Miami for my anniversary and we stayed at a hotel down the street from Curated and I got to see a lot of your beautiful cars when driving by every day. It was a big treat for me!
😂😂😂 what a loser simping for curated 😂😂😂
I remember so many in deals coming up in Dubai all my life such as a Ferrari FXX came up for sale in 2013 for 9m AED (2.45m USD) along with a Veyron for 272k USD last year as well as 2 Chirons (1 Sport and 1 Anniversary) for 1.36m USD each and I knew I had to have them. My fathers and my bank accounts disagreed each time😢
Why was the chiron so cheap?
@@carterReeves918 because dubai. There are a ton of super car that get driven by some crazy kids of a oil prince and then they get left in the dirt or they just arent taken super good care of. Plus i dont think there is a single car in dubai with any amount of history because of the reason i said earlier.
I see forgotten super cars and impounded super cars all the time in dubai because its a country that is soooooo rich with much of that wealth coming from tourism (which the flashy cars help with) and oil (which is owned by a few people that own it all). The people are poor but the country is rich so you end up with a lot of cars that either are left to rot or get shipped out. But again there could be a million other reasons.
@@carterReeves918 im not sure if it was legit (not rich enough to buy and see😅) but they were ex rentals with 8k kms each (rolled back prolly) and the sport was a euro spec with accident repair while the 110th anniversary was a GCC spec. I wish I had 10m aed to find out if it was truly a deal of a lifetime.
How many dads did you have?
I had the black lambo for a screensaver in high school lol. and phone screen saver on the razor flip
And u got nothing now
@@HebryNegga-wy4zr I have a limited edition built C6 corvette, 2017 twin turbo C7 corvette stingray, 2015 hellcat Challenger modded with wide body, a first line production srt8 challenger with whipple, 3500 dually truck lifted for the trailer god, good health, enough pride to show my real name and face and my awesome law career. I could buy a same year Lamborghini that was the screensaver and build it, but I learned after owning a Gallardo and my C6 Corvette simultaneously....that my real love was modern American muscle performance cars.
What about you? Don't worry, I will wait.
@@HebryNegga-wy4zr 🤣🤣🤣🤣 checkmate
I saw the title and thought "this has to be John Temarian" and I was not disappointed
“Bought the car and donated it to his own museum”
Nice tax write off / loophole there. You get to drive it, yet the “museum” pays for all the maintenance and upkeep.
Probably the only more reprehensible loophole is writing off a GWagen as farm equipment.
What if it's being used as farm equipment? It technically is a truck.
well the G wagon was farming equipment, just for the German Army, of whom it was developed for, plus you gotta admit it would make for a damn good beater
I understand Curated are a business and they have to make money, but because of companies like them, most future classic cars, which are still available for the mass market will disappear in 4-5 years time. We, the normal people will never ever get the chance to touch them, drive them, own them, etc. ... it's sad... cause at the end of the day, it's all about the value and the money those cars are bringing and all those millionaires and billionaires are just trading the same money all over again... #hardreality #notcool #priceovervalue
I'm surely you'll get over it mate, or if you wont, get yourself in better life position instead of botching about it
im already over it :) . it's more of a observation, and im still quite lucky to have driven most of the exotics in the world, including a countach and 550 maranello, gallardo, f430 scuderia, etc etc.... it's just not fair, cause my dream car is a Ferrari F40 ( having already driven on in the past, I still realise that i will never ever own one..... and that's considering im doing good in life in terms of money ... @@cheeseontoastbrah
@@cheeseontoastbrah ooh someone is butthurt
Sad to see so many beautiful rare cars just kept as museum pieces use the cars do what they where meant to be for driven 😢
I was at the factory in maranello when the fxx was being built. The result 430s were coming down the line and the last few superamericas. Amazing memories.
First time I've ever heard "a brand new piece of history" before.
I tough this is what cars you would keep so you can drive them, not museum pices
Mine would be a 1993.5 MKIV 6 speed twin turbo HARD TOP. sold it for 20k in 2003 with 129k miles. Stock except for koni shocks and an HKS air filter.
i had 1 of those i happily sold it to the scrap yard for 300$
Calling it now: John bought EDs Verde Draco and Ed bought the blue one on CaB to still have a hard top lp640
I've actually met the guy who owns the Mansell F40 and have seen the car multiple times. He lives in my area and has tons of amazing cars
The Jota is incredible
My wish I kept was my Lancia Stratos... not a hyper car but fun as all get out!
Love seeing John, and the collectible/museum and historical side of cars, modern or otherwise. Most cars should be driven, but some should be preserved so our kids and their kids can experience the history. Thats my belief anyway, especially as manual/ICE become more scarce. Edit: 9:42 That magazine cover showing the Ferrari, my heart jumped at the NSX moreso lol.
Love your enthusiasm John and I'm a huge Lambo fan, I think what holds their values back against comparable McLarens, well just the F1 and obviously Ferraris is Lambos lack of race history in top events, they may have competed but the only events they ever win are their own one make series! Ahh the Yellow Jota I rode in outside the factory, great video John
McLaren's literally all look the same the styling is boring af
All of those cars are loved for different reasons many are true investments some will see the road and find the thrill of driving again but rarity not only drives price but @ed did a really good 10 minute video about insurance and how hard it is for these gems to be on the road if some one damages them they will never financially recover from it.
great list but sounds like a sad story John, you're basically saying you're not making enough money no matter how hard you work to get to keep these cars. you only get to be a middle salesman for them. i thought exotic car sales made enough money to allow to have your own 50 mill collection. guess not.
Sure the Diablo GT2 is a special car but saying it's more special than a McLaren F1 GTR? I think not.
Just love the world you guys live in. Would love to become a dealer, but my reality would probably not look anything remotely as cool or fun as this.
Loved the story up until the LM002 popped up, and then the flashbacks started. Please god make them stop. 😊
Hmmm Then don't read about one the US Army blew up in Iraq from Saddam's son Uday's car collection.
However, I am privileged to have seen two separate US spec LM002s on the street (not car show) in person: (maybe late Malcolm Forbes') red one in NJ early 1990s and a former autoshow display version silver in Chicago area 2008.😁
my list is only 2. 1953 Corvette that was being restored, I bought it, did nothing, sold it. 1969 Yenko Camaro 4 speed. Sold it right before the gas crisis in 1973
Just how and why does Lamborghini keep selling one offs from their museum?
Nigel Mansell's Sports Cars was based in Blandford Forum (Dorset) not far from where I live. No longer there, now a housing estate.
Is he ever going to be on this show and not talk about a Muira SV?
Nope lol 😂
Glad we got to see the murci gt1 race !
I regret selling my 1969 Cougar XR7!!! 😢
As a dyed in the wool, Screw Mustangs, I'd rather have a Cougar, fan. I feel your pain. My first Hot Wheels was a blue Cougar and I was hooked.
This video without the prices is pointless.
Edit: just went on thier website, no prices anywhere to be found
he would be ruined if the guys he bought the cars off ever found out how much $$$ he fcuked them over by on the flip.
I knew it was curated just by the title an thumbnail
I would have thought the EB110 in the opening shot of curated would have been in the list.
A car seller saying he regretted selling cars that earns his bread and butter. 😂
MC12 is not based of Ferrari Enzo, Frank Stephenson the designer mentioned that on the video of Kidd in a sweet shop chanel.
Epic list of regrets.
The thing about these collectors is, they gotta know when to sell or start using them, the merci is priceless in my eyes as it is my dream car, i really hope a yellow one comes up when i finally get that successful, but i dont think the generation that has that money 50 years from now will appreciate a car like that and since it will one day be old, it will be seen as less exciting than the new or high achievers of their generation. I don't think any 20 yr old wants a duesenberg and the people who really want that car are probably not gonna be here or care anymore about it, so in the end no one will pay 1mil for it
Best person on the chanel. Just love the stories and the cars you have been through
That W124 Hammer was a 5.6 or a 6.0?
Clickbait. He is a car dealer. His only regret is not gouging the buyers more.
Yeah, I really hate it when car dealers hype up the rarity of their cars in order to jack up the values of them.
@@Ultimatebubs I have some cars that are in my care. Periodically, people contact me, stating that they "want" the cars. Really, they just want to flip the cars. I do not do business with liars, cheats, and other such riff-raff.
If suitable buyers are not found, I'll pass them on to my children, eventually. These cars are meant to be kept and cared for, driven and enjoyed. My ownership was an accident, but my care is not.
Not for nothing, but comparing a Lamborghini race car to a McLaren F1 GTR is a bit of a stretch. Only one of those cars actually won anything…
The FXX and F50GT are still my favorite Ferrari's F50GT is the prototype GT1 F50.
While over here I nearly bankrupted myself just to buy a salvage C5 and spend over $4000 on it just to sell it with a broken transmission for the same price
John should be named 'Regretor'.
Only took 38 seconds to mention the word...😂😂😂
What giant ill fitting gold watch is john wearing?
A guy begged to buy his car back but this guy wanted so bad to just sell it it to someone else so he can be involved with the car? What’s that about
Business is Business don't sell something when you aren't ready to never see it again
@@wvu2123 Yea, It would make perfect sense if he said he wants to sell it cause he can make money, but he bullshits people instead
Not driving your car is like not sleeping with your wife/ husband to keep them fresh for the next person ... never understood why people buy a car and then proceed to not drive them and to lock them away. I bet if you actually think about it they probably dont make much money on them as they have to keep the upkeep on them even when they are sitting for long periods of time and the battery is usually constantly on charge.
Because it's gets old and it's not practical in my case I haven't driven mine for 7 years I would have sold it sooner but when the prices just keep going up it's like ah well just let it sit means more money in my pocket come sale time
@cheeseontoastbrah im guessing in your case you did buy to drive it. But then the practicality of it faded away and so it's been left to sit. My point was more the people who buy them for investments or just buy them to look at rather than use it. I get what you mean though value keeps going up while its sat i guess you would just sit on it and wait for the prices to reach a peak point but how would you know when that is? 🤔
Houston Tx!
Preach!!
John has got to be one of the weirdest people in the world.
I'd say, if anyone is trying to buy a car back immediately someone didn't charge enough. Especially if you don't fit in it.

Me personally I think it's a shame alot of these one of kind original cars end up in Saudi Arabia in some princess collection that will never drive it.
I know Nigel mansell I deliver his Bentley to the dealership when it needs service for him
What color is the other GT2? I cant believe they only produced 2 of them and you literally have one..
Also you havent sold it yet. Soooo You can still keep it.
A whole FXX?
WOW
There are just 1 special brazilian F40 and 1 special brazilian F50.
nah all F40 and F50 are waxed
Glad Mick still have Michaels FXX
You gotta get David Lee on this show!
ed ruined the murci market for his own benefit..... i might as well throw away the poster ive had for almost 20 years
You cant keep em all, even at this level
I have a Ferrari Enzo (not mine) sitting, in a small building, along with others, not far from my house in Tokyo - it's on a bus route and I walk past it sometimes - in storage. Is it special - yes, but really special - no. Not given what it sits next to. I see some daily driven rarities worth over 50 million yen! (US$1/2M) Just the burbs - not anywhere noteworthy.

@@cheeseontoastbrah Exactly :)
Every time John compares a Lamborghini to a McLaren F1 it makes me cringe so badly! They aren’t even in the same league!
Can't duplicate it? Isn't that what Phil from driftworks did?

John is by far my favorite story teller on Vinwiki
I want that Lamborghini GTr
If it has to original tires you cant even drive it and enjoy it. Poor investment.
Yo
Some real gut punches in here but it has been an amazing journey so far.
The next gut punch is going to be the black Miura Stephen found in San Francisco. Yes, I watched Curated TV before I watched Vin-Wiki. Sorry, @EdBolian
I’m not familiar with your content, but you have major scumbag vibes. VINwiki viewers seem to agree.
Everyday is a new day. People are always becoming backrupt
These are all cars a salesman regrets making more money on. I was expecting something different.
Think maybe it’s a bubble?
That Hammer 🤤
He reminds me of Ethan Klein, and not necessarily in a savory way.
I really think John is sort of a "buy here pay here" salesmen with too much money to spend. Very shady and I get keeping original cars as time capsules but man not everything deserves to sit in a garage.
Great story telling John! Sadly, I wonder how many of those car are ever driven?
So sad. After he talks about almost all of these cars he said “and it ended up in a museum.” Shame
Sounds like he really did not own most of these cars, so how can he regret selling them?
There is no X in the word especially. Please people. This is not that hard.
Very rare Lamborghini...1/1 ...Lamborghini mursiebart svt ...
Museum not Musaaaaaem
I really thought he mispoke but then he did it 2 more times right after lol
Always good seeing Temerian!
Letting cars sit is so lame. DRIVE THEM. Hearing him talk about original plastic seat covers and letting cars sit just pains me…
