This phone was my dream phone as a 8 year old kid. I never got it cause I was broke but I always loked how easy to use it was but at the same time it didn't feel too basic. Only problem I had with it was the touchscreen. It was kinda odd. My friend had it and I got to test it

As an LG Dare owner for almost 6 months now I still love it. I was going to get the Voyager because I text 24/7 but I found out the space bar is misplaced.
I had updated the Dare's software from V03 to V06 today at VZW and the QWERTY virtual keypad is almost flawless now. It feels better than texting on thick buttons. If you're used to touch screen, you can text faster on the virtual keypad than you can on the enV2, Glyde, or Voyager.
This is the best texting phone on the market, go buy it!

i've had this phone for about 7 months and i have no problems with it. the zoom doesn't work when you take pictures at full res. and it's touch so you have to press down on the screen (unlike the iPhone which senses the electric current in your skin instead of actual "touch")
its a really good phone especially because you can play mp4 videos on it.

i have a screen cover- but the amount of fingerprints whether you use a cover or not is amazing. boatloads of them. and if you reaaaallly like texting... not a good idea. the virtual keyboard is not full- you must switch between screens to access punctuation etc. and it's easy to mistype if you go too quickly. photo options are cool.

Iv had this since the summer of 2008 and i STILL LOVE it. I have not experienced any lag, and I love the touch screen. The only reason I am leaving it is because i need a smartphone and this just doesnt have what it takes to be a SMARTphone. But seriously ppl, whats up with all the problems ppl are having? Ahh, the LG Dare. It was my first touch-screen phone. Crazy that I just bought myself a Note 5. I remember when the Dare was a state-of-the-art phone. My phone tree went like this: An unknown silver flip phone that lacked a camera from Verizon, a Motorola Razr (silver), a Motorola Krzr (red), LG Dare x2, Motorola Droid, LG G2x, Droid Razr Maxx, Samsung Note II X3 (I loved this phone and insurance swapped it three times to keep it new), and now the Note 5 (Black 64 GB). All Verizon.

as I understand it, it all has to do with your plan, the unlimited data plan comes standard with iphone (so it's bundled in-not technically free) if you want unlimited internet you'll have to talk to verizon wireless about upgrading your plan.

Hook the usb charger to your phone and computer. Go to the My Music & click sync. Whatever music program you have should recognize the device. Then, you drag and drop or send to the phone. The music will load and ta da. :) You can also copy and paste music to the memory card (when inserted in SD adapter into an SD card reader) in the my_music folder

I had the Dare when it first came out but I sent it back because I didn't like the all touch screen so I got the voyager. I really like the voyager in the titanium color. I do want to get the Dare again though because I like the fact that it had the 3.5mm headset jack while the voyager has the 2.5mm headset jack. I think if you want to be in the here and now times you should get the Dare. Keep in mind there is a mini dare coming out soon with Verizon.

I have been with VW since before they were named VW (1994) and overall I have been happy with them. The service is every bit as reliable as they say it is...I get service in tunnels up and down the east coast, in the Washington, DC subway tunnels, and in remote areas, the roaming companies they work with tend to be pretty reliable. Some negatives: Customer service is inconsistent. Not BAD necessarily, but sometimes you';ll

  • @MBlover99
    @MBlover99 Před 16 lety

I was told by the Verizon rep that if you get a "Dare" or Voyager" (which is the fone i wanted) that I couldn't keep my old plan that used my minutes when in data; i had to go with their new plan that charges $2/meg for downloads (muisic, navigator, etc) plus now text messaging is .20/message instead of .10, and pictures are $.50 instead of .$25 which i now pay, so I kept the VG 8350

I'm amazed that so far I've watched six reviews about the Dare on CZcams, and so far not one single person has mentioned how good or bad the CALL QUALITY is. Everyone's focusing on the touch screen and camera which are great, but, this is a PHONE and as a phone, I personally need to know if the *call quality* is any good or not.

@Vinsem698 I don't believe they do. It was pretty much "replaced" with the LG Versa last year. If anything, the Versa has been replaced by another LG phone already too. While a good phone (I've had it for almost a year and a half, and also my firsts touchscreen phone), the typing/texting isn't too great. I wouldn't necessarily say it's because it's a touchscreen, but rather the technology that's behind that touchscreen. If I were you I'd look for a slightly more expensive CAPACITIVE touchscreen

But you'd have to pay $15 a month every month for the same time-frame for the Dare, if you want web and email. It's $30 a month for the same feature on the Omnia, there is absolutely no difference between the two features. What you have to decide is paying $15 additional a month for the dare or $30 for the Omnia. But the argument is you get more features with the Omnia.
You have to test them out to see which one you'd like.

Theres two themes black and white. Phones really good it also has slow motion video recording its awesome. I've had it for 3 months now. The camera is great, texting needs getting used to because the touch is not very responsive. The camera has sooooo many features like ISO, Spot meterings, just alot of good stuff. It is definitely worth it, but check out the Blackberry Storm before you buy this it might be better because it has wifi whereas the Dare does not.

2 the vu has a really good camera but the dare is obviously better
3 the sd slot is accessible from the out side on the dare, it just makes me mad having to turn off my phone fiddling with the card then turing it back on

It supports on-line Flash games, so it's very easy to download embedded flash games (for FREE) and put them on the phone using Bitpim. I have the game Connect 4 in place of ezTip Calculator, and I have Bowman 2 in place of the World Clock. :-)
The ezTipCalculator and World Clock are a waste of space anyway. :-)
