Thanks for watching! Make sure to like and subscribe for part 2 💖 Do you agree with the pieces I picked? What do you think are the most overplayed flute pieces/songs?
Totally agree with that. For PART 2, the most beautiful overdone flute piece you should do is the Flute Concertino (Chaminade)
You're so amazing. So wonderful to see you grow as a musician. Keep it up!!! :)
for part 2 u should include morning mood by grieg 😂
Definitely!!! For part 2, you should definitely add Chaminade Concertino, Carnival of the Venice (Briccialdi) and Poulenc Sonata
Don't forget Syrinx by Debussy, Fauré Flute Fantasie Op. 79 and Mozart KV 315 (Andante in C major) plus Doppler Sonata, everyone played that one. We actually need more and better flute repertoire ... I don't think I heard the Poulenc Sonata that often ...
Morning mood
But bumblebee is basically overplayed on all instruments 😅
Trueeee 🤣🤣
exclude piano please , you need to be some kind of a wizard to play that on a piano
@@shadowsxd1452 You don't. It's one of the most common show off pieces for those who only want to play the notes and be impressive. In terms of difficulty, I'd never put it above third movement moonlight sonata or fantasie impromptu
It is overplayed on the old pokemon games
@@shadowsxd1452 naw.
The one thing the flight of the bumblebee has going for it is it’s speed. And guess which instrument handles speed very well? The motherfucking piano.
Pieces that are hard for piano often have a whole bunch of annoying hand movement or massive chords, not speed related things.
The flight of the bumblebee is universally overplayed
Flight of the bumblebee is not a piece anymore, it just sacrilegious
inTerEStInG
Lol
i see, your cultured, why not play it with an ice violin too
AmAZinG
No flight of the bumblebee is notorious
I never get tired of that Bach piece, but I can’t say the same about the other two! 😮😆
The whole suite is fantastic
I think the Mozart G Major Concerto is pretty good.
I tried to learn Badinerie second year, last year, it scarred me so much. I muscle-memorized BAD embouchure, like, exclusively for this one, my brain triggered and everything sounds bad and wastes a lot of air.
but it's pretty if you take my anxiety out of it :)
@@dan-us6nk Oh!, you made major mistake #1.. you have to learn stuff perfect as slowly as needed, then you could start speeding it up. You have to get the tonguing, slurring, the fingering, the timing, everything has to be down but at a reduced tempo..
it’s the only way .. for any music challenge really..
@@fluffshepnetwork7067 mhm
Even though it’s over played I love Bach baderinerie. I think that maybe Vivaldi’s spring is a bit overused. I hope you are having an amazing day Katie! Thanks for making your amazing content!
Agreed.
I think Vivaldi's summer is more overplayed these days
Me a flute beginner: damn I wish that was me
It will be. Be diligent and savor your love for our instrument. I wish you the absolute best on your musical journey.
Keep practising and it will be you.
Am an amateur(on the flute),I wish I could play these composer songs as well
Wish that flute was my flute
My bad
Bach's deserved to be overplayed lol
the way she played bumblebee was incredible !
I thought Chaminade's concertino would make the list 😀
overplayed but gorgeous piece
Yeah, I've been learning it recently and though it's pretty popular imo it's one of the most amazing pieces for flute EVER
I mean, it is played a lot, but for good reason. Chaminade's Op. 113 is one of the most gorgeous pieces I've ever heard.
It’s a bit overplayed but it’s so good ❤
This video inspired me to try to learn Badinerie!
Good luck with it! 😊
Well talk in several months. 😅😅
@@Dareos19882 years later…
Lol
You have to admit that
all 3 of those are an actual necessity to learn as a vehicle to drive your flute development journey forward.. 😉
That is the case with most overplayed pieces. Everyone has to play them at a point in time ...
@@blauespony1013
🤪Really ?I?!
I never would’ve guessed that! 🤣RotFLmAO
@@shipsahoy1793 And yet, I haven't played any of those pieces (except Badinierie - I played it exactly once). I fear, my education is lacking.
I'm pretty sure no one on any instrument will be missing out not playing Flight of the Bumblebee. Anyone can just practice a Chromatic Scale
@@Pennwisedom you know it’s not quite that simple, right ? Not easy to do well, that’s why so consistently attempted.
So great to hearing you play FLIGHT OF THE BUMBLEBEE again..... So challenging to play but you NAILED IT!!!
Actually it’s not that challenging if you practiced your scales ;)
@@justme-xx3km The first half is pretty easy. But my fingers have a mind of their own so I get tripped up during the key changes.
i see you've mastered the Flight of the Bumblebee...lol.....and also....those pieces are LOVELY...i could hear/watch you play them all day long!!!!!
the unholy trinity of staples 😩
LOL
Spring by Vivaldi IS EVERYWHERE
I’m a beginner at the flute ( been playing for 8 months) and all I have to say is I understand none of those notes and you’re a god at the flute
All I can think of is twosetviolin saying ✨ SaCrleGioUs ✨
I don’t understand how you play those notes so fast. You are so good at it 👍
She started playing the first one and I literally jumped and almost started doing the choreography for the ballet solo I did to that piece once. It's such an abrupt start that my brain went, "Oh my god, you should be on stage, why aren't you on stage right now, GET ON STAGE!"
Alison Balsom played J.S. Bach - Badinerie and that was one of the reasons I feel in love with the trumpet. Didn’t know that it’s supposed to be played on flute, it has such a different vibe on trumpet compared to flute. Just gotta say tho, beautifully played!!
The first bach piece I mostly hear on violin
Your tone is SO beautiful! As a flautist myself, I recognize tone.
Even though they're over played, I wish my grandma would play them but she gave up flute years ago.
Bach's and Mozart's music is never overplayed for those who love it and truly apreciate it's beauty and deepness
And Beethoven, I don't care if the 5th is really overplayed, it is still incredible
Mozart is one of my favorites as a flutist
Had to play the second one for honors band auditions and i literally quit😭😭
I just got my first flute! I’m so exited to start learning! I hope I can be as good as you someday!
and you will. i started in sixth grade and because of covid it has held me back that year but i’ve grown so much over two years from when i started. so trust me you can be just as good and maybe even better. :)
You got it! Flutes hard at first but after it’s such a beauty, also beware of the high G and E flat!!!! And use lots and lots of air and scales scales scales!!!!
I started learning it this year, and after you get past the ups and downs (fingering, breathing, embouchure) it’s really fun to learn new pieces.
🤣 I just started learning how to play Badinerie and then I realise that it’s overplayed.
just from the sheet music in the thumbnail I already can tell this is good
I feel like everyone’s heard flight of the bumblebee
random question: what is the white thingy under her right thumb
A thumbport. It's to help with rh positon
That Badinerie took me back to a time I had blocked…..band competitions in middle school 😂😂😂
Overplayed = Most Enjoyed (At least by the listener.)
Would have liked to have heard each of the pieces in their full length since you play them all so well! Very talented!!
It isn’t “overplayed”; it’s just good.
I love the first one even though it’s overplayed.
I played flute and piccolo for around 6-7 years. I used to be able to play the first two songs but def couldn’t get a handle on Flight of the Bumblebee
I just bought an old Artley that’s the same one I used to have. Tried playing it I sounded horrendous lol
I also haven’t played in 25 years haha
I love how I remember all of these songs just bc I used to watch little Einstein’s on looop
I clicked looking for Jethro Tull’s “Locomotive breath” flute solo - not because it’s overplayed, but because it deserves to be.
Badinerie can't ever be overplayed. It is perfection captured in musical notes.
So
So I’m a violist. I was reading the sheet music, forgetting that this is infact not alto clef, and was like, “that doesn’t look right…”
And then I realized I’m just stupid
You are extremely stupid.
I can't even play any of these- and I've been playing for over 3 years almost 4
Amazing !!!!!!😍
I quite enjoyed this as a flute player my self just this was beautiful
“Most overused flute songs”
Me: *has been playing flute for 6 years and has never played a single one*
I understand why the teachers make us do so many scales.. They're preparing us for Flight of a Bumblebee
Amazing
ive been playing flute for 6 years. the whole time i was watching i was just 😨. i would be lucky to be half as good as you omg
also those sharps scare me
As a flutist, I’m extremely impressed by how well she plays. The embouchure, the trills, everything.
"Most overplayed"
*Inserts sheet music for all of us to continue the legacy*
I played flute through elementary school, middle school, and high school. I haven’t touched a flute in years. I miss when I could do this!
You a fantastic flute player .
I still remember, my teacher and I forced the first piece into me in a few weeks so I would be ready for an upcoming performances. (I did a lot of practice like drills and scales but that was my first ever "song" on my flute after two years ) You have shown me how beautiful this song supposed to sound
First thought to mind: "Damn she's good." Your A LOT better then me so keep up the good work.
Badinerie cannot be overplayed. It's musically perfect.
Bravo mille fois pour votre prestation , le vol du bourdon est particulièrement réussi.
Bonne continuation.
Damn, that was really good and could see literally the effort and hours you put in, really really cool
I was holding my breath the whole time LOL
Oh my goood this is so good. I play the flute but only for school… I hope one day I’m able to play like that!
You can with practice and patience! Good luck on your journey!
Your playing is superb!!!
Wow, you play very well 👏 ❤
me, learning all of these atm: 🧍♂️
I respect people who play flute because a girl in my band class passed out in class playing the flute
Yep! I remember a couple of these being the audition requirements.
Beautiful songs
It is impossible to overplay Bach or Mozart.
Headphone warning!
0:48 and 0:53
There’s no escaping that flutter tonguing bumblebee! 😜🥰
damn props to you . hardest thing i can play on my flute is "he's a pirate" 😂😂
i’ve never heard the second piece before!
You should do what is NOT overplayed, like the solos from Shostakovich 8th, movement 2. Stretch the viewers horizons.
OOO I love this idea :)
the Mozart concerto is clutch tho always gets me where I need to be 😉
They're all so good though!
The flight of the bumblebee..... I have a trauma of that one...... I was so obsessed to play it that I practiced even in the night.
Not good ppl, you need your sleep and your neighbours as well
Also chaminade
Am I the only one that never had to learn Chaminade (I got back into flute playing to learn it).
@@blauespony1013 I didn't have to play it, but had to play all of things mentioned above (except the concerto because im not good enough)
@@gbkgames2087 You will get there, don't worry.
Yea, to me, the notes themselves on chaminade arent TOO difficult, but making the phrases flow together is very difficult and takes a lot of examination and mastery. I havent attempted in a while, but I'll probably come back to it
Nailed it all on the spot.
i love how the first one is used in Imaginary Places by Busdriver
I do love that mozart concerto. I'm really glad you posted this because i had a brief bit of that song in my head and desperately wanted to find sheet music for it so i could play again
Fantastic playing! 🎉
Talented lady an her hairs so nice.
love her pitch of music its pitch perfect no note out place.
The first song really takes me to imaginary places
Sounds great!
As a violinist student, i feel ashamed of knowing only the first and last one, i shall now go 6 feet under ground, goodbye folks
The flute is such a beautiful instrument 😢The way you must posture your self and how the fingers just dance back and forth as you play on top of breathing and keeping the notes steady. I remember hearing the last one in cartoons growing up 😊
yep I've all of them multiple times, even play a few
The Christmas edition of this video is just sleigh bells for every single instrument lmao
Thank you!
i played badinarie when i was 4 months into the instrument
If you like to watch PBS Create, you get to hear this sung every so often. It's bizarre and fun.
I played this from memory as part for my Junior High Band and Orchestra Spring Concert, many years ago, along with the Polonaise. As part of learning this piece I was introduced to Baroque ornamentation a style. I also learned performance practice. I worked with a fine pianist many times over about 2 months, playing, listening, discussing improvements, the whole deal! He’s majored in organ performance ~~ his dream even then. I transferred to the Cleveland Institute of Music after realizing how much I wanted to become the best flute player I could be.
Thank you Mark Brampton Smith; thank you to CIM for admitting me to your BM in Flute program.
The Bach is a lot of fun, though. I love playing it.
I will admit to using Badineire for my recessional at my wedding, but we used the rondo for the party, and the minuet for my processional so it made sense to pull movements. My priority was making the minuet work and all the other movements were too slow.
That’s incredible
Yep. Played all of those.
Your flute is beautiful♡ and I'm in love with the way u play
What gorgeous playing ❤
All i thought i was good at flute-
I love bumblebee. After you’re done at least I felt amazing.
They may be overplayed, but YOU play them well. 👏
First ones literally my ringtone
Mi querida Katerine!!! Tu música es un deleite para el alma y tú sigues tan bella como siempre!
I love fluye!😊😊
YOU HAVE AN AMASING TALENT!
