yo, i’m 18 and in nj . I’m waiting until april to be able to get my basic auto license so i can get right into having my cdl, I was wondering if you had any suggestions on what i can do to come in and make as much as possible eventhough i can only drive local
Bro, local is where all the money is at (depending on where you live) You don’t have to go OTR (Over The Road). I suggest you go on indeed and look at local jobs for class a CDL to see what’s available, the only problem is that some companies ask for 1 year of experience but like I said, it all depends on
Yo Jose, I live in CO too, I’m 23 have my B license. The only thing I’m concerned about is learning standard. Are companies patient about training standard or is it like you have to come in knowing how to drive manual or you won’t get the job?
Damn that’s crazy that you brought up weed. I was working for Transdev a contractor for RTD here in Denver. Enjoyed the job didn’t enjoy the random hours, but got fired for marijuana. The weird thing is tho there’s no record of it on Clearinghouse so I’ve been thinking about going back into the commercial driving industry
The majority of companies have automatic trucks bro, so you’ll rarely have to drive a manual truck. Unless you’re driving for a private contractor who was manual trucks. I’ve never driven a manual truck since I’ve had my CDL. The only time I did was when I took my driving test but you can take your test in an automatic truck also. The bad part of doing it in a automatic is that you’ll have a restriction on your license
How did you go about getting your permit while working? I have my class b and drive bus on graveyard shift. I’m just trying to see how I could manage my time so I can take a class while working
I worked a lot of jobs as a young man before becoming a truck driver. I started trucking at age 33, when I was younger I didn’t give a damn sometimes I wouldn’t even go to work or woke up late from partying all night at the clubs. So when I became a truck driver I was way more responsible and learned to drive better and took more precautions.
@@XxCOLONxXhell naw man if your in law enforcement is way better then trucking. A government job is 100% better pension in all. If your gonna leave you bettter shoot to be an O/O building assets and a business plan. 9 to 5 Law enforcement no doubt.

How old are your speeding tickets and how many do you have ? It all depends honestly. You could still get your CDL as long as you have a valid DL. And just apply to jobs.
