that vegetable oil in the engine shows nothing, i was literally riding my 2T bike more than 2000km WITHOUT a single drop of oil in the gearbox, and still not a sсratсh when i opened it lmao

That oil is more like transmission oil than motor oil, seeing how that's a 2-stroke, so the damage (if any) may show itself down the line in the form of transmission damage.
I'm from Indonesia and have been using a mixture of cooking oil + engine oil for 6 years with a composition of 50:50, and have never had a problem until now.

Using vegetable oil in your transmission isn’t going to do anything to the way it runs but it can cause issues when you actually put hours on riding the bike
The fact that most people (including our content creator) don’t understand the diff between transmission and engine oil is disturbing. He didn’t run vegetable oil through the engine. He ran it in the trans. Which, like others have commented, doesn’t show itself immediately. You’d have to use it as premix to run it through the engine.

It offers really good protection and reduces thermal breakdown.
We used to run our mopeds on crisp and dry instead of 2t in the 1980s here in the uk, never had a problem, smelt nice too

I went to Greece in the 1980s. All their 2 stroke bikes were using OLIVE oil in the gas/oil mixture. No problem, and smells great!
it needed way more time to do anything to the bottom end. Also yes do the 2T mixture oil! But that may also take some time.
On the 2t it is only lubricating the transmission and clutch. There are a couple of bearing in the trans that may get damaged with more time. Using cooking oil in the mix, it will kill the cylinder and main bearings and connecting rod.

Up in Canada and really cold places some people run a ratio of vegetable oil to regular just to thin it down and help with extreme cold starts. But in warm conditions that vegetable oil that makes it past the rings into the cylinder will definitely burn when hot. Most stock Diesel engines will actually run on vegetable oil as fuel.
Only mechincal fuel inject diesels will it will clog the newer diesels injectors

@@_A_A_101 u need to clean the rings often to prevent stuck rings other than that its works great and the smell is sweet

@@_A_A_101 I use it at a bit higher ratio, about 16:1 rather than 20 but I do that with 2 stroke oil as well for extra lube and neither of them foul plugs.
Smoke? yeah, there was some but I don't really care. I don't understand why anyone worries about smoke. To me it shows the engine is getting lubrication and is part of having a 2 Stroke.
It smells better than regular 2 Stroke other than castor Oil which is a vegetable and one of the best 2 stroke oils out there.
Nothing smells as good as a 2 Stroke on castor oil!

If you have vegetable oil smell while running it, you have something wrong because the crankcase on a 2 stroke isn't connected to the gearbox oil

i use palm oil and its work very well and change it every 3000km both 2 stroke and 4 stroke=cheap but a bit smelly on the exhaust

My dad raced motorcycles in the 70's and 80's and built and maintained everything. We always ran Castrol in all the bikes, but peanut oil in the two stroke gas.
You gotta try pharmacy grade ricin oil. I tried it once on my 50cc pocket bike with regular 2-stroke oil and it smells damn good. Just like old school karts with Castrol A747 😎

How long would a bike last with no oil/little oil in it
I’m 1:19 seconds in I feel like the bike will still run, but maybe slightly out of idol. I think you should try to run dawn soap as motor oil lol. that would be pretty interesting! I feel like it would separate from the fuel like the ever clear video
in finland some people use vegetable oil instead 2-stroke oil in fuel. dont remember which oil but it works fine :D
You can use it for 2 stroke aswell, I put it in my DTR 125 when I was a kid and all I could smell was fries 🍟

@@kylecorbettYou did put oil only in the transmission gearbox, the bike ran with the oil premixed with gas so obviously it isn't any difference except you did some damage to the gears and clutch and the bike changes gears roughly. Engine oil is another discussion, you didn't specified well in the title.

Try mixing veg oil in the gas it should work fine but the mixture might need richening up. My thought was the clutch might not work properly.

The oil that you drained out is royal purple and you're doing it in a two-stroke so the engine oil doesn't lubricate the piston or the crankshaft you're only putting the oil in the transmission so if you want to do a true test drain the oil out of a four-stroke and switch it with vegetable oil and see what happens doing it in a two-stroke the worst that's going to happen it might cause the clutch to slip

probably quite a while, considering the fact that he put it in the transmission not the engine, the gearbox may not last very long though
@TheKtm300rider I bet it would take a while for it to hurt much. It would probably mess up the wet clutch after a while, but I bet the gears wouldn't care.
@@inoahmann7542 as long as the oil isnt too slippery the clutch wont care, the bigger concern is the lack of shear strength from the veggie oil.

I used desiel on my engine for 30mins of riding just to clean the engine. Then put a 4T oil, I have 2004 YZ125.

What would happen if you rev it max with the vegetable oil in it??? Would it last longer before it fails or not than with the regular oil????
No clutch slip? I guess long term the oil might degrade but short term it seemed great
Id like to see reg oil as 2t. Like some 1030 1040, mix the hell out if it and hurry up and run it before they seperate. Or they seperate? Atf as 2t? Amsoil dominator, mixed 100:1 and rip it around hard, not just the taped throttle. Amsoil saber claims 100:1 i run ny 521 stroker banshee at 60 on the dominator.
I've run 10w30 at 32 to 1 in 2 stroke power equipment. It would be fine in a dirtbike, just a bit more carbon and sludge than actual 2 smoke oil. I've also run amsoil Saber at 100 to 1 in power equipment, absolutely no carbon buildup and it performs excellent. I'd advise it against it in a bike though.
I never use oil in any of my machines , and I've never had any issues arise.
It’s only the transmission side shouldn’t really be to big of a deal shit I’ve seen transmission with no oil and straight antifreeze because of blown seals and they ran em like that for a while, but if you put it in a 4 stroke that would be something different

I got a model of a visible V8 engine you put it together like a model hook up the batteries and you can see an engine working well I use vegetable oil for engine oil that added to the effect of actual engine functioning with oil in it it's been in there for about 8 years runs strong

Vegetable oil in the trans oil wont do anything on the way it runs. 2 strokes dont have valves so its not lubing the pistion in anyway. In reality trans oil is one of those things if you have it good if you dont have it just try to get some. However vegetable oil as premix or in engine oil of a 4 stroke would be quite interesting

This wouldn’t effect the engine at all because the oil you put in the filler on a 2 stroke is only for the gearbox. If you ride it heaps with veggie oil in the gearbox then it would probably gum up and seize or youd have collapsed bearings
