I really appreciate these videos, they're very helpful insights into the mould making process. I want to someday make my own moulds so I like to watch these videos. I have loads of ideas but I don't currently have the equipment. Can I ask, do you have to use a special type of glue to stick the acrylic together? I had to slow your video down to see, but do you only glue the outside of the outer walls together? Also, love that spiderweb hat mould : )
Thank you so much! Glad you find my videos helpful :) For 'glue' you need to use acrylic cement. The brand you use will vary depending on where you are located. I did not find any branded acrylic cement where I live, so I am unable to recommend a particular one. However, to my knowledge, Weld-on is a common brand used by other mold makers. It's not a glue exactly, but it does bond the acrylic together. It's consistency is like water, so you insert some of it between the acrylic layers and it will do it's job.
I love watching artisans and their handcrafted process. Do you mind me asking, what silicone brand you use? Im always curious what brands people use, but understand if it’s not something you want to share. Have a beautiful day
