- As of the 31st of March patch, this is now FIXED! Old description below:
Unranked PvP is broken in Lost Ark right now. We have NO ranked game mode currently in NA/SA/EU. This is likely to come at a later date (usually 1 to 2 months after release). Unranked is the only mode that's available (other than customs), so this is a pretty big deal.

@@StarKittens life isn't fair..take your licks and keep grinding. Fighting against better players makes you better so take it for what it is. Everyone started in the same boat. You're going to have to lose over and over before you can master your class and really become effective.

Hey Lin-0, I am new to Lost Ark but I instantly found you as the main PvP content creator. Gj for you work and how you do approach game and explanations, I do really enjoy it.
As a PvP focused player, I wonder if it's worth to level to 50 instead of just lv 26, if I only want to play pvp with different toons? (I've already done it but I suppose it was a waste of time, I've done it just to have the chance to unlock skins in the future). Is it worth to play Lost Ark at all (until the fix), if I just want to play PvP? Ofc asking for your personal thoughts. Thank you.
You only need level 26 for PvP. Maybe 1 level 50 for Silvers, but daily login rewards should have you covered. It's worth playing PvP if you're new, as you're fighting other new players anyways - just try to make your sessions long and not accidentally reset your MMR. Or do custom games.

How are you liking scrapper? Scrapper and Artillerist are actually the two jobs I leveled to pvp as well. First time playing Lost Ark pvp but I’ve been having a lot of fun, your pvp videos were a great help.
Scrapper is easily one of my favorite classes. It isn't particularly strong but I love it all the same.
So it means that, normally, my win count should be fixed all the time and not reseting every day? Lol i thought it was supposed to be that way! I also wish there was some match history so i know my win rate %.
When fixed it should display win rate. There will be a menu (to be accessed via Alt+K) that will give you a break down of your win %, K:D ratio, number of matches, etc. on a character per character basis as well as roster wide.
Over two months later, still nothing is being done to fix the imbalance. Soon also known as never.
So thats why I have like 1-2 fun games per day where its actually balanced and the rest of the games I just get destroyed completely. They really need to fix it. I dont understand how all these problems occur on this region but in others. Its the same game isnt it?!

No, you can't choose. Either they have it or not and you can't change it.
its like i wanna know why evrey sorc pvp ranked game i go in , i get gunners in front of me, i switch to Deathblade i get bards aganist me and no gunners, its kinda annoying

I know you mainly pvp and I love your content, but how do you like scrapper in PvE? Is taijutsu your preferred build?
It is yeah. She's my PvE main for now and I love it, never stop pressing buttons.
Do you play sharpshooter too? You think it's strong enough to be a top tier/GM? Do you plan on doing a build guide on this class? Thanks!
I think Sharpshooter is a good class to pick up while in the early levels. It takes a bit to master and sadly suffers at higher levels of play, but by the time you become skilled enough with it for it to matter, they'll have been buffed.

@@LinNull I'm interested about informations on sharpshooter buff as well. I mainly play Sharpshooter and Striker, and to be honest with you I can't wait to see at least one of those being at least slightly buffed, because after 6 months of PvP I definitely see their weaknesses.
For now I play Striker because that's the easiest one to outplay opponents with (fast, lots of mobility, good amount of knockups and great disruptor for my zerker and shadowhunter mates) but if sharpshooter didn't feel that bad and had maybe a bit shorter cooldowns (or more consistent damage), I would 100% main it.

I just lost 40 MSR points while being the best player of my team in bronze. my teammates who did nothing (no dmg no kills few assists) lost 16 points. Never seen a game be so trash in competitive mode. Literally impossibe to get to silver even if i win 70% of games
That's because you gain and lose more during your first few games. It's a "qualifier" system, where you get x3 points for your first 10 matches, then x2.5 for the next 20, then x2 or so up until your 100th game.
Honestly my friends already gave up on the PVP due to this fact we are all new players with just fresh 50s and we are matched with some extremely skilled players every time up to a point that we are all discouraged to play just to sit in the base and get demolished and didn’t know what’s wrong, we even all changed our champs and nothing change we can’t event get a kill everyone we played had such a coordination and CC follow ups that just feel you can’t do shit, we just recognised that we sucks and now everyone sticks to PVE and probably will not try the PVP again.. good video though
Do give the PvP a try again - but wait until the issue is fixed.
It is discouraging but see if you can find some more people and do a custom match. Pvp here is very fun and you would be missing out on a lot if you avoided it. I've been having growing pains on deadeye atm but spending a lot of time in training grounds and doing pve content by practicing my pvp combos helps too. When you get a hang start doing the 1v1s so you don't have to worry about fighting 3 at once.

No, but other regions take around 1-2 months after game release to get ranked

Has this been adressed yet? I haven't done more than 5 matches a week for weekly stones, but with ranked coming out I would like to practice somewhere before I jump in there.

You really thought you were on your way to GRAND MASTER after a few good games? Delusional perception of reality dude. Sorry if that offends you, but becoming an actual master of ANYTHING requires some serious time put in and lots of loss along the way.
How to play ranked. I hit rank 1 but i think this is not my limit.
There is no ranked in NA/EU currently, it tends to come 1-2 months after release. "Tier 1" is not Rank 1, it's just the rank that lets you begin queuing ranked when it does come out.
bigger problem: can't even find a match anymore. FOLKS DO NOT DO the proving grounds, they just PVE.
PvP is not balanced at all. Even the MMR is broken. You have people in Diamond/plat with very little matches and i've seen others having nearly the same wins apart from maybe 1-2 losses more and not in the same category. Not to talk about the fact that there are hackers too.

Literally just had a game like that bunch of grade 17+ vs my team supreme 1,4,7. Needless to say, they killed 2 of us and we killed 10 of them. GradeXX>UltraX>SupremeX>extreme

@@Viewer13128 Honestly I play around 7 classes and I find them all super fun (sorc, arcana, zerk, scrapper, artillerist, summoner, shadowhunter) - there are some classes which perform better than others at different levels, but we're due to seeing some big balance changes after the KR tournament so I wouldn't think about classes that don't work since they most likely are getting changes
For me I personally dont mind this I usually learn faster by playing vs better players or watching better players play
For example I picked Blaster and in my first few matches I stagger > stun > nuke and run away and new players who just got chunked just started playing way back and were afraid
Few matches in I start getting better players I dont know if they are smurfs or just better but I couldnt even get the stagger in most cases and even if I did combo them they would stick on me and punish my long CDs
If I keep playing vs the new players Im gonna develop bad habits from which I usually have hard time fixing so the regular stomp helps me realize what mistakes Im making
The issue is that you will always fight vs new players. Say you play non-stop for 3 days and build some experience. Everytime you relog you're back to the beginning MMR wise. So you can get vets or you can get other brand new players; you can get anyone really. There's no matchmaking whatsoever, so you can't really track your progress as you don't actually get put with people of similar performance.
Everyone fights everyone - it's a free for all in terms of MMR.
PvP is sometimes fun but going against 3 tier 1 players as a team of 3 grade 10+ is very lame
im really disappointed in the pvp in this game.. it really doesn't seem to be about skill, but more luck on your team you get matched with. If it;s a loss its a loss by 1 kill everytime which fucks your whole mmr then you're stuck at the bottom, its unrewarding and pretty much a joke considering the RNG on your opposing team and your own team.

Been reporting them whenever I get notified, but they keep coming. And no, it is not fixed yet.
I mean why would one rerrol the same class? when us how footage of rerolling u play the same class. but yeah I have been doing my first 5 matches. admittedly I don't even know the correct combos let alone meta... but I felt Im playing against some decent players already... but idk...
What do you mean rerolling same class? I'm just swapping to Sorceress then swapping back to show how it resets. Say that I do PvP on a character, then go do dailies on another, then want to go back to do more PvP? Well it resets. This also happens if you log out or log in - so every day it'd reset.

@@Dualities That's the point. It resets even if you go back to the same character. There is no MMR history on swap.
@@LinNull yeah but people usally dont swap to the sam class. They swap to another class which u have to learn again. So mmr reset makes sense? But i see your point. U can have a lot of pvp experience and boost a class and copy meta build but still play against noobs

What is the point of abusing this bug in normal games? Does this provide provide any advantage? If its only for the ego, then they should just permaban the people who intentionally abused the system over and over again.
No, but it is more than just intentionally abusable - it is inescapable. Every day someone logs out, they are resetting their MMR. You can't ban someone for logging out of the game. Or for changing characters if they want to try something different.
It's impossible to track intentional usage or not, it affects everyone because it is so broad.

I dont worry to much about what tier people are i mean i ive been able to win game up against all tier 1 with new players and ive also lost to new player with a full team of tier 1. As long as my teammates are peeling and im peeling for them i feel confident in a win
what do u think about sharpshooter in rankeds?
Good at lower/intermediate level and pretty cheesy, so can climb. Suffers at high levels due to being RNG damage gated and interruptable - might get a buff soon I feel

I'm not sure how I feel about the PvP in this game. I miss battlegrounds or something like summoner's rift, or something with team-based objectives like CTF or KofH. Just anything but pure arenas. I noticed a tweet from the Korean Dev's about adding this but personally speaking, I probably won't touch PvP until that's implemented. Arena's are just so 1 dimensional... boring.. kill or be killed. Zzzzzzz.
There already are battleground style arenas, but you can only play them during restricted times. It's the "co-op battle" tab when you go queue. Try doing those next time and see if you like them.
But yeah, we'll also be having new modes coming in from KR in the future.
Be good or git gud. I don't get what's 1 dimensional about pure pvp. It's literally the best expression of skill you can do and the skill ceiling is huge on this game. There is a lot to learn before you're good.
@@pedromfl I think he wanted some mode where not only skill matters, but strategic decision too. Well, I'd like to try on this kind of modes, but I'm loving arena so far.

@@pedromfl he's not complaining about getting killed, he's saying he wants pvp with a purpose. for example lineage ii in the past had guilds pvp'ing to boot the other guild away from a raid boss, or parties organized to steal raid bosses, or sieges to defend or capture a castle/city, or ppl just fighting for farming spots, revenge, etc. he's saying the arena is just 1 dimensional mindless killing cycle like an arcade fighter game. the arena doesn't really capture the 'mmorpg' meaning. it's just small-scale repetitive mini-game pvp, not mmorpg pvp.
plus, arena pvp has a match making where u just fight and say bye. we're not even organizing parties in the town, then timing when to go in and against who, and we dont' even know for what reason cause it's just a mini-game mode. it's like the pvp isn't mmorpg. in fact, auto matchmaking kinda ruins mmorpg even in pve cause traditionally, we need to make friends or join a guild to be able to form parties, not just random match.
basically, if it's gonna be this format, he just wants maybe an objective/mission style pvp, or if they can break free of this mini-game format, then an mmorpg pvp experience is even better.
if u have arena pvp on top of all the mmorpg pvp, then that's a complete mmorpg pvp imo, where arena holds the highest glory. but if u have just arena, it's lacking for a mmorpg imo.

It still is scuffed. Ive seen both extremes of the matchmaker in ranking, is ridiculous. Frustration is impossible to dodge, i got close to silver 3 times, and every single time the matchmaker rigged the next 10 matches to guarantee my team loses no matter what and put me back in 1300 or less. I did my best every time even when losing, managed to save 1 or 2, but when the matchmaker doesnt stop giving u sht, what can you do but wonder if uninstalling the game is the best option :S
Anyway, i know ppl will quit because of this AND other issues with the game.

There is a good number of experienced players grade 20-15, many played in korea or russia.
It takes less than 4 wins to go from Grade 20 to 15. You may find them once but not frequently, as they'll have levelled up quickly. The vast majority of G20-15s are new players, overwhelmingly so. Most vets are already at Tier 1, but it doesn't matter, since the G20s will get matched with T1s.

played 10 games to complete my unas weeklies. first time pvp lost ark player lost every single game got zero kills. every single game they stomped us. not a fun time and i probably wont pvp much after this

That's a different issue due to server load. The matchmaking here is a bug specific to PvP MMR matching
