2:12 I find it funny the couch is so into speedrunning this game that when asked "Why 70 stars?", they all fail to mention how 70 stars is the amount of stars needed to complete the game casually. Instead they immediately throw around the terms BLJ and Any%. It's okay though since most people probably know/understand.

I've watched this race at least three times now and it never really clicked until just a moment ago how one mistake on a speedrun trick can set you back so much. Regardless, it's an excellent race and it's making me want to try my hand at running Mario 64, if only to prove to myself that I can do it.
The Super Mario 64 races each GDQ are by far my favorites everytime! Glad it was an amazing race

I feel kinda bad for Punka. Eveybody is claiming for Cheese, but he was awesome also. Even in the commentary (which was awesome, btw) I felt like they cared more for Cheese than for Punka.
I think that’s mainly because Cheese was in the lead for almost the whole time so all the new stuff cane up for Cheese first.
Cheese is the world record holder so that's what fame does
I mean, they talked about Punka more when he was in the lead. It’s really just about who encounters what they want to talk about first.
