Amazed by your dust collection. I have mine hooked up to my Harbor Freight 70 (?) gallon dust collector with a 4" hose and I feel like it doesn't do that great. I've been thinking it is due to the fact that I have the hose going to the ceiling and then coming back down, but that obviously isn't the case as yours is similar. Great work, just put on a new wasteboard yesterday and your video really has me wanting to add t track.

I did that a year ago. No fences though. but when I tear up a piece of MDF, I don't have to replace a whole sheet, just the 4 inch wide pieces that are damaged. I made extra poeices for quick replacing.
I think this is the best overall design for a wasteboard. I have some ideas to expand upon it, but the base design seems to work well.

Question on those toe clamps...are the ones in the video at 7:34 3/4 version? so you get the size of your wood thickness I assume.
Hi Chris, this is a great idea, what were your settings on the 1/2" V bit?
Brilliant design and implementation. I put a full bevel on my XY frame guides so they have a wedge down effect with opposing clamps. Yours looks too good to get scratched by carving too soon!

Great videos, I'm having trouble with my Shapeoko XXL, in contour cutting the bit will rise up 2 to sometimes 10 thousandths for a few inches or sometimes it will rise up almost all the way around a whole pass, it did this before and after I replaced the belts and V pulleys. It is not a positional thing on the work piece, because you can move the vector over to another area and get the same results. And it doesn't do it all the time, please advise me if you have any answers, thank you
Check the set screws on the pulleys. They’re really small ones. Make sure one is on the flat area.
Really smart planning. What program are you using for your tool paths. Did you do to layout the countersink holes.
Thanks. I just used carbide create for those. Usually I use Carveco Maker, but didn’t feel like booting up my Mac in windows mode.
I dunno, my first spoil board was made with mdf straps, now I'm making one out of one piece of mdf, using the machine to groove out the track slots, seems much easier
Chris I just found this as I was looking for a fence set up for my shapeoko Pro XXL on your machine up size cutting area do you do have was trying to figure out what size to make the rectangle to make?
Well mines a lot bigger since I extended my machine. Just jog the machine as far as it will go to the back and left and right, and make a mark. Make a wasteboard just slightly smaller than that.
What screws did you use for attaching the mdf strips?
How far below the surface to you recommend the v-bit to go?
It was just wood screws with a flat top, tapered head. Try to get them so they sit about 1/4” below the surface. That way you will have plenty of material that you can resurface as you use the wasteboard.
I think I would've chamfered the bottom of the front fence before surfacing the edge. That way, you could still maintain a clean edge without having to cut into your wasteboard. I like the way you made your wasteboard though.

the vbit mark you made to start your t-track off on the left. is that along the farthest x axis? meaning is that as far as your x axis goes left?
I came in just a hair to center the layout of the tracks, but it’s pretty close to all the way left.

I am new to CNC. I recently finished building my MPCNC and wanted to add T-Track waste board like yours. The rectangle vector that you created in your CAM what toolpath profile did you use is it pocket, contour or what? Can you post the link to buy the low profile clamp, also, the link to the T-Nut is not working.
It’s a pocket. The clamps and t nut should be on PwnCNC’s website.

No, I never got the parts I tried to order. I’ve just been running the 9mm ones.
