- Join us for a day in the life living on a canal narrowboat in lockdown. Have you ever wondered what it's like to live full-time on a canal narrowboat? We'll show you around our tiny, 57-foot by 6.5ft narrow boat, take you for a short cruise to get some supplies and tell you what life's really like living on a narrowboat.

Here's Shaun's Beef Stew recipe 👉🏻
700g Lean, large diced beef.
1 Large onion, cut into 1-inch chunks.
4 Medium potatoes, peeled and chopped into large bitesize pieces.
200g Mushrooms, halved.
Roughly chopped fresh tomatoes.
Carrots, cut into chunks.
Beef stock.
2 tsps Worcester sauce.
1 tsps Oregano.
2 tbsp Plain flour.
2 tbsp Olive oil.
Salt and pepper for seasoning.
Season the beef with the salt and pepper.
In a large frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot and shimmering. Brown off the meat, turning with tongs, for about 5-minutes
Transfer the beef to a large plate and set aside.
In the same pan, brown off the onion chunks and mushrooms for about 5-minutes.
Add the beef to the pan.
Add the flour to the pan and stir until dissolved, then tip into the thermal cooker.
Add the fresh tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, Worcester Sauce, Oregano, and beef stock into the thermal cooker.
Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally and simmer for 10 minutes.
Seal the thermal cooker and stand for three hours.

I love Otis cam with the fluffy floppy ears! Also Colin there is a lot of evidence supporting exercise, and also being in nature, and by water to improve mental health. So you are doing all the right things. I have started to keep a nature journal recording what I see, and it has definitely helped me to keep my anxiety and depression at bay during the pandemic. @@FoxesAfloat it made me curious so I looked it up. The English cocker is about 3inches taller and 5 lbs heavier than the American with a longer face. Otherwise they look much 5he same.

I’ve been watching your videos over the last 6 months and all I can say is wow….! Me and my partner would love the narrow boat life. This has to be one of my favorites of your wonderful vlogs. Shaun's cooking, the visit to Tesco, and the daily life in the boat. Even the burping humor.
Another thing I LOVE about all your vlogs, is that your music is always varied and fits the mood. I follow several youtubers whose music never varied......after 3 or 4 videos the elevator music is stuck on the bottom floor.

Wish I knew about the thermo pot when we were living and traveling full-time in the motor home. Dinners after driving all day could have been hot and done with little effort. Great pot for off grid cooking.

If I had the money I would live like you guys. I keep my mental health by keeping busy (yes i have aspergers) . I like to work all alone and when younger that was most of my jobs. My partner is who I live for. Keeping busy is walking the dog, cutting firewood, garden, fixing everything in the house and yes of course cooking. I live on 30 acres in the sticks and can't see my neighbors. Thanks for sharing your lives with us, it's fun and interesting. So for some reason I needed to share a little with you.

Back again! Actually I haven't stopped watching since left last comment for you hours ago haha. Better than Netflix. Anyway I had to say that I am so SO loving your winter videos, as I live in Queensland, Australia and I would give anything to have a white Christmas, be surrounded by snow and asmr (😋) ice breaking like in one of your other videos I watched earlier. I just discovered you guys. This is my kind of cruising, slow and easy. I grew up in Michigan, (USA) and my family boated on the Great Lakes. It was great when the water was like glass, but sometimes the open water could get pretty rough. Now I'm going to binge watch the rest of your videos.
