- Hey guys! I went with Colin and our good friend and ace mechanic Doug to check out a few old tractors that were looking for homes... The gentleman selling them was the same fella I bought the Pontiac and 1940 Dodge from, so we figured we'd better go have a look!

Looks like a good old tractor....Thanks Scott....Shoe🇺🇸
Love seeing mid-week videos, and love seeing them slowly creeping up in length. Soon we'll have a couple hours of CWM every week :) Seriously, I know it's a huge amount of work to shoot and edit content and I really appreciate the effort you make to get this out there. Best channel on youtube by any measure. Cheers.
Hey scott.
What were they looking to get for that cockshutt?
Great shape....looks like it needs a good winter to bring back to par.
Glad to see I'm not the only one with those addiction issues. Good score for all the reasons you listed; & Tom actually enjoyed it too - win all around.
Midweek CWM featuring old tractors 👍
The man with the most toys wins! Scots in the lead, Jim's a close 2nd and here comes Dean on the backstretch. And the win go to?
Thursday night Tractors. Nice
Now your getting into my love of early tractors! What you have is a Super W-6 Mc Cormick. built in 53 and 54. Same motor and trans as a Super M Farmall. The Cockshutt is the same tractor as the Oliver 28-44 (90). Big time power in their day. That one has about $2000. dollars worth of rubber on it. The Deere D, is a later version. That motor is 501 CID, at the time, the largest tractor in the Deere line. Electric start is an unusual accessory. most are hand start, turn the flywheel by hand. They could also have hydraulics if so ordered, the pump would be mounted between the magneto and the block.
Looks like a W4 McCormick Deering. Didn't look big enough to be a W6, but could be. Hard to tell on Camera.
Hey boss! Thanks for the note. A treat to hear from you! It is a McCormick, for sure. Serial # says S W 6? You can see it at 7:07 or so. I don't know anything about them, so that is all I was going by. I just really liked how untouched and straight it was! All the best as always from everyone here.
Missed seeing the plate. W6 is the standard version of a model M. They made a lot more m's so use that to get parts.
I like the look of that tractor. The proportions of it just look "right" to me (if that makes any sense). Hope to hear it run soon!
It makes total sense to me! Cheers...
A hat trick, Pontiac, Dodge, International. Saved from being recycled into Prius. thank you, all stay safe
My god, can you imagine the horror of turning something like that into a Prius and the ultimate degradation of Lena Dunham's greasy fat ass plopped in the front seat?!
A match made in Cali, eh?
Whaaaaat, a live cast? Alright!
Old bikes and old tractors is a show that appeals to CWM fans...thanks for the Canadian field trip.
What a great old beast, eh? I'll look forward to the "Will it run" on this ol' girl. Like you, Scott, I love how tractors can sit there idling at about 100 rpm going 'doof....doof....doof' - there's something magical in that sound. A flathead 6 or 8 comes close, but you can't beat a tractor for the 'doof doof' factor! You might also have to do a couple of episodes of My Classic Tyre - not only with the one you want to put on, but also the tired one you are taking off!
Scott has about as much ability to say no and walk away as I do. LOL! Love the tractors.
Absolutely love these little videos you do said never know what we're going to see. Probably like most of us you enjoy anything older mechanical cars trucks farm equipment machinery just fascinating you can see everything that makes it work actually function and like a new car where it's a computer that does everything.
Cheers Josh! Glad you like them!
The Yammer I learned on was a 65cc.
Those old International tractors never changed much in design.
I'm glad Tom liked it
And suddenly I'm a kid again with Grandpa out at the farm. Thanks. Cheers brother 🍺
Another, "Just Going for a Look", episode and returning home with a full load. That's the perils of bringing an empty trailer. As long as it gets Tom's approval, it's all good.
Now that is a tractor. It will be great for hauling cars out of the woods and moving them around the yard. Tom is going to love driving that around. Great Find!
This week on Cold War Tractors…. smile.
I have a 56 Scoopmobile 3 wheel loader but I would buy a Cockshutt just because of the name!
"Scoopmobile" is a pretty sweet name too, though! Cheers...
I can't wait for the "Will it run" on that one.
The McCormick wheelbase is the perfect size for your yard. I wouldn't think you'd want something as long as a Farmall "M" or "A" maneuvering around your collection.
I love tractors, can't wait to hear it run.
That belt pully is sandwiched paper. Awesome old tractors, I'm working on an O6 international that is very similar to the one trailer. Very cool cockshutt. We have four newer cockshutt tractors. 20,30,35 and a 50 deluxe diesel. Great show 👍
Yep I'd pick that 1 too! Good choice 👌
Me and my 48 Ford 8N would like to welcome you to the exciting world of old tractor ownership.
Nice old tractor. Replace that new-looking green thing! And maybe the bike won't even require a tank coating. It's possible ...
Yes! See you Saturday! Thanks! 😎
Tom approves, so it’s fine with me 👍. I say it every time but, enjoying the midweek episodes. Thanks Scott
Congrats on the latest addition to the fleet. Maybe we will see a new feature - "My Classic Tractor Tire". You must be relieved that Tom approves.
Another splendid CWM educational interlude. I know nothing about these machines and have only seen them at a distance, They're amazing in their functionality; built not for show or certainly, any comfort but simply to get the job done. I'm glad Tom granted his approval of a non-Deere acquisition.
Agriculture division of Coldwarmotors, excellent!
Aw, that's great seeing the old tractors. I grew up with a '49 Farmall H and now have a '59 Massey MF50. The 50 starts in bitter cold, no problem. Love this stuff!
...Scott...you'll have that field of corn in no time!......
"I like these guys. They buy ALL of my old crap."
will fur sure beat pulling those old cars around with a lawn mower or golf cart! :)
Yeah! The poor old Gravely was a little overwhelmed, haha...Cheers!
Graet purchase. If it ain't red leave it in the shed. 👍👍👍👍👍
Well, you've got a few months to get her kitted-out with a plough Scott. Should save Tom a job this winter, now you're all tractored-up.👍😁
That bike sure looks like a JT-1 Mini Enduro. I bought one new from a local Yamaha dealer in 1971. I rode the crap out of it for 3 years and sold it to my cousin who also rode the crap out of it until the engine seized because he forgot to refill the auto-lube tank. It was a great little bike!
Just got home and Yes Cold War Motors and Tractors we have my Grandpa's 1942 9n still runs great love ya Frankers
Frankers says hi! Glad you liked the old tractor...Cheers!
Better be careful if you buy the Cockshutt! I can’t imagine anything worse than what a zipper is capable of....*edit* Great content as usual!
Every man needs half a dozen old tractors 👍🏼take it easy mate 👍🏼😎🇳🇿🍺
Can't wait to see the tractor 🚜 running!
Carter’s fender shop could beat those fenders back into shape in one 10 min video
Yeah! I'll have to get him over here soon! Cheers...
Just when you don't think the CWM content can get any cooler you up and buy a Farmall,IH products were a big part of my growing up years, starting with my uncle who owned a combination repair garage/IH dealership,my dad's '68 1100 pickup that he ordered new, the basket case Farmall Cub tractor that Dad bought from a friend for $170 in '68 and rebuilt/updated (which I teased him about as kids will do) then a Cadet 60 riding mower that I rode to death as a teenager, even a International deep freezer and my later years with a pair of International pickups so yes I love your latest acquisition 😎
Mccormack....nice patina..pure prairie ...
Sweet addition....congrats....
If I had the money I would have bought all 3 but if I could only buy 1 it would be the JD. It is the easiest for me to get on and it is the most valuable one. We have some in the tractor club and they have lots of torque down low plus the guys step off while it's plowing to adjust the plow then hop back on. You bought the best tractor for what you want to do but it is harder to get on and the steering wheel is too close to the seat and there isn't enough adjustment to accommodate my large size. That tractor will be a great running tractor and there are plenty of parts for it. Once sorted out I think you'll love it!
Yup upon another one I didn't watch I watched it now Okay, thank you for the video. I'll be ready for Saturdays.
Excellent! See you Saturday.
Wow Scott! CWM video during the week? Bonus lol ! Thank you lots !
I'm really looking forward to you getting that tractor running and giving it a good tidy
I like that W-6, too!
Hi Mike! Glad you liked it...Cheers!
That key-fob Yamaha is a treat.
They are the rare rest of economically and wisely better times when that stuff was everywhere to have a little fun in Your past-time, at the cabin, in the yacht club, at the second home You kept for family gatherings on weekends ...
Tractors are a slippery slope. Careful buddy. Cheers
A sporty looking tractor 🚜 there Scott
Its a Paper ply pully, Also subbed to Squatch253. He is currently resurrecting a 1938 Caterpillar D2 #5J1113 Great Fun!!!
Had a '71 Yamaha 125 MX. Use to race indoor flat track, good memories.
Will it run?!?!? Time to roll some J's and call the boy's Batman!!
That tractor has the coolest wheels I’ve ever seen!
Thanks for the cool tractors and the live feed. Always good to chat with the host. Thanks again for giving us a little escape from the world. See you Saturday. Cheers from Ohio
Very nice tractor, I collect a few myself,
Hay Scott, now you can have my classic tracktor tire. Love them old tracktors
Yeap great old girl or to Tom same old sh*t.
I like it. Cheers 🇨🇦
Cool tractors , and a nice little bike . Those bikes were called the "DT 100" in Europe . Tough little machines too .
That’s awesome Scott Can’t wait to see you get that running Very KOOL
Thanks guys - these wee extra uploads are a special treat. Guessed which tractor was going on the trailer as soon as it appeared 😁😁😁
Dean needs a tractor to move his greasy flips around his field of dreams
OH Boy! Tom has been lax at tractor duty-even at Foreman stuff. Now the "Big Lifter" has a new Buddy to keep the yard Tidy.
A little water, soap and waxs and the "Dodge" has great company too. YAY for CWM SCOTT!!! Rich
I would love to get a 1935 to 38 John Deere Model D tractor they look so cool and love how the seat is at the back of the tractor. The first time I saw one I fell in love with the spoke wheels and all
Love the patina on the McCormick ! Nice tractor for sure Scott !
Congratulations Scott!
That's one hell of a nice score Scott...cool. that baby will serve you well.
I think so too! Cheers from me and Frankers...
Nice tractor! It should make a good yard tug for shuffling your fleet around the lot. The Enduro is amazingly complete for it's vintage. Thanks again for the Thursday quick post and as always I'm looking forward to the Saturday post!
Treasure !
thats a beauty right there
I needed this after today. People were absolutely FUUUUCKED today haha. Have a wicked day scott
Can't wait to see the tractor project get started on....
Get a 2 gallons of green house paint and brush 'er on!
Cool tractor score! Cheers.
tractors are a lot of fun, easy to work on generally and lots of parts available . i helped work on several, Massey, Case, IH and Allis. metal metal metal
Another great short clip from the best channel on CZcams.
Very cool old iron...
Field trip-The motorcycle is a sweet find and what a fantastic old workhorse of a tractor! I like it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A nice tractor show enjoyed 😉 👌
Love the orchard tractors. Low rider tractors
Nice Super W-6 . Some one got tired of bottoming out the old pipe bracket seat and went with a M design seat frame work .
And added a industrial type drawbar .
Man you are so lucky Canada is a big country. Room for all your toys :). G'day from Aus :)
I always want to restore an old tractor , John Deere would be awesome!
Love the way you hang off the back is the seat position. Great stuff !
The Cockshutt is a nice piece of Canadiana, manufactured in Brantford, ON. The JD is a little rough, but I own two and you can't help but love the putt putt sound. I think you made the right choice with the McCormick. And, it was already on the trailer! Bonus! You will need to make up what Grandpa called a push-pull. It's a solid tongue that hooks to the draw bar of your tractor and to the vehicle you are trying to move. It being solid allows you to push or pull the vehicle. And when you stop, the vehicle you are towing has to stop as well. Huge advantage with moving around old relics that have no brakes. Grandpa even welded up a short draw bar on the front of his "yard tractor" so he could hook the push-pull up in front.
That welded steering rod might have been a farmer modification too to make it easier steering. I've heard they were quite heavy steering and by lengthening that steering arm it gave a little more leverage.
Nice can’t wait to see your new tractor running..😀
My tractor Holy Grail (after a Foden Steamer of course) is a Lanz Bulldog.
Engine's Cannon!
Very good choice for the yard. a little tlc and she will be purring along happily. I have 3 old tractors myself. a 41 farmall H. a 1958 ford 850 and a ford 8n with davis loader and backhoe. Can't wait to hear your old girl up and running. That little crank would have been for radiator shutters.
The Yamaha model in the UK would be a DT80. There was a series with different capacities up to 350cc or 400cc.
Loved the tractors.
Good eye getting the W6 International, we ran wd6 diesel version of your tractor they're great machines, everybody loves those damn two cylinder John Deere but we had two style John Deere d tractors, they were one miserable thing to drive LOL, thanks for posting I enjoyed that brought back a lot of memories some good, some bad LOL
ja, purrdy tractors! I remember John Deers out in the fields putputput! I remember the neighbor starting it by spinning the fly wheel, I think that's what it was.
tractor music czcams.com/video/jbN-jO11vKg/video.html
The tractors cool those Wheels look like drag Stars
Put a little horn on the hood of the Cockshutt, it will go 3x as fast as the other tractors.
Excellent choice on the tractor.
*McCormick!*
Down here in the antique tractor-fanatic world, a Mac is much like it is up there - you have your typical Deere popularity
(which I equate to small block Chebby levels of favor in old car world) and then there's the rest.
I'm no antique tractor nut, but I've done up a few over the years for my dad and others (nothing huge, more like Ford 8N/
9N sized stuff) but I'm rather fond of McCormicks and Olvers for some strange reason.
Some strange analogy to Mopars in car world could be made I suppose, but there it is - I'm bored with the most popular
models in both tractors and cars.
No idea what you're gonna do with all these projects you're acquiring here lately, Scott - but it'd be cool to see some more
progress on getting at least a few of them closer to done!
Be safe up there and thanks as always,
- Ed on the Ridge
Nice old McCormick W6! I've got a W9, a WD9 (diesel), and a Super WDR9 (diesel rice field special). Also have the Farmall A, Super M, and Super H. So, be careful, these things seem to breed overnight...
Beautiful, of the 3, that would’ve been my pick, more style
Another rainy night in Georgia
Hi David! All the best from me and Frankers!
Wish it was here in missouri !
