    i know this whole stream is in mono, or mostly even though theres some random side content, but whats causing it to sound like theres some sort of reverb hes running everything through?? i cant figure it out. you can even clone exactly the sounds he uses to the T (literally copy it from the video) and it will not sound like what it coming out of his computer. idk im so curious

    • @nikolaudio
      @nikolaudio Před rokem

      @Timmy Audio no he removes OTT, it sounds like some stereo phase reducer or some codec that’s adding noise or, I don’t know. I just don’t know what software it COULD be

    I know he was using Bitwig for a while, does anybody know why did he sticked to Ableton instead? I'm looking for a change of DAW from FL, so I would really like to know why did Joel stick to Ableton, more now that Bitwig Version 2 is launching

    • @bppspb7741
      @bppspb7741 Před 7 lety +2

      Ableton Live is mature, intuitive and easy to use, huge community, support, MAX for Live and controllers made exclusively for Ableton Live
      even some sample packs being made exclusively for Ableton Live
      Bitwig is a rip off made by guys that lost their job when worked for Ableton

    • @danivicen
      @danivicen Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks for your response, a huge fail I see on Ableton is that it doesn't have VST3 compatibility, there are plugins only available on VST3, but guess I can use other DAW to use that stuff... So there's no pro on Bitwig in your opinion? I thought the guys from Studio One and Bitwig did some improvements fusioning the cool stuff from all the DAWs as they are newer ones

    • @bppspb7741
      @bppspb7741 Před 7 lety

      I used Cubase, Logic, Studio One, but none of them compare to Ableton Live in terms of workflow, speed and simplicity. Now I spend my time making music and sounddesign instead of routing and finding where my channels, instruments and eq's are. Also Ableton stock plugins are very good, you can use only them to mix and master your tunes. Even Deadmau5 uses them instead of high end hardware gear he has lol. Are you sure you need VST3? I never used Bitwig because it was beta version back then, and still I prefer Ableton interface, I like it's simple/minimalistic style.

    • @danivicen
      @danivicen Před 7 lety

      Yes I've seen too that Ableton stock plugins are pretty simple but complete, and yes some plugins are only on VST3. I've seen that Deadmau5 complaint about something hardware related on Bitwig, but I don't have any hardware, so maybe I'll give it a try too, but Ableton really calls me. Thanks man!

    • @weenss
      @weenss Před 7 lety

      dani, save your money with bitwig. i had the misfortune of buying a licence and it is honestly an immature steaming pile of crap that can't be called a serious DAW. It's missing even fundamental things like non-overlapping audio (or midi for that matter) clips. Yes, that's right.....if you overlap your clips, one of them will literally, destructively, eat into the other. unreal right? The fun doesn't stop there either.... it's just unstable, and has cpu spikes on projects that aren't even big. I swear, the dev team must only test their program using only the included bitwig plugins on test projects that have 1 track.
      These sentiments aren't just from me, and are widespread, and instead of addressing them, bitwig has chosen to push forward into misdirected endeavours, like trying to build touch integration into the DAW, and other such non-priority things. I'm all for touch (I don't believe it's anywhere near 'there' yet as far as speed and efficiency when compared to mouse/keyboard), but really, they need to be fixing their core program first.
      So in short, as it stands, bitwig is nothing but a nice toy that can't be taken seriously as yet, and is helmed by a dev team that does not give two shits about fixing the fundamental issues that plague the program, but would rather spend their efforts on secondary-priority things that will make the program seem 'cool' and hence sell more copies.

    • @dk-cn1tc
      @dk-cn1tc Před 4 lety +1

      Part of mixing is making sure that it sounds as wide as possible while balancing it with mono compatibility. If he widens a certain frequency band by a little bit, it will sound 99% the same on mono while giving stereo listeners a really good wide sound

      a LOT of people use waves plugins on most major releases . there's no équivalent to L316 or linear phase EQ in UAD land . they are also more convenient as they're native . I have both Waves and UAD and I use both . The waves SSL collection is used a lot in electronic pop and hip hop . Waves L1 is a digital classic and used as well in heavy metal mixing

      PCs that are used for CPU heavy things like music production are usually set like this. So it's actually not a theme but with everything theme-related/aesthetic totally removed so the computer can allocate more brain power to the DAW! It's kinda like not wearing pants at home; you have much more freedom and comfort but it's definitely not flattering to look at.

    • @Shornetastic
