    it looks like a small flow till you realize the little ant like people running around and the bottom.

    This was great thanks.. It took me a couple of watches to realise that what I thought was a red hot piece of lava on the right side was actually a drone.. then I realised there were lots of people walking around the lava at the bottom! I didn't realise how big it was - only realised when I saw how tiny the people were! Wow!

      Look at the bottom of where that fast red river of lava comes suddenly. After that happens, you can see people near there, at the bottom where the lava is burning the grass. Teeny tiny people.

      @@billrobbins5874 After I wrote my comment and I watched it again I actually wondered if the drone was actually a helicopter! At one stage it looks like maybe people are getting out.. tiny ant people that is.. like tiny dots moving is what they look like..I don't know now!

    Guessing the water moving back and forth at the right hand side of the footage has something to do with the earthen swelling and contracting in association with the eruption?

    Just after 0:35 fire gets thrown all the way across the stream. Surprised they let people risk their lives with that going on. About how many hours does this cover? I watch one channel that shows forest fires about 24 hours at a time in sped up way so you can really see how much ground it covers in one day.

    That's a lot of people down there. Didn't they learn anything from the New Zealand volcano explosion last year?

    • @gemfyre855
      @gemfyre855 Před 3 lety

      The types of eruptions in Iceland are completely different to New Zealand, they're basaltic eruptions very similar to Hawaii, very liquid lava which just oozes out slowly enough to outwalk. Because the lava is constantly coming out, pressure doesn't tend to build up and suddenly explode like andesitic volcanoes.
