- In October 2019, a group of 11 motorcyclists ventured out on a once in a lifetime experience to ride through the forbidden kingdom of Tibet Autonomous Region and reach the world’s highest monastery Rongbuk at the fabled North Face Base Camp of Mount Everest - a route George Mallory made famous with his attempt to scale the mountain back in 1924.
Starting from Kathmandu, they crossed the Nepalese border to ride through the high desolate highlands of Tibet Autonomous Region on their way to Rongbuk. Together they battled the biting chill, the dropping oxygen and their own personal limits, forming friendships for life on the way to the top of the world.

Owned six Enfields and have covered every state in India as well as Nepal and Bhutan reaching 130,000 klms in total...have visited Tibet also in 2008 and had passed that Everest turnoff by vehicle...dreams now of a good old ride up that way...thanks for the film guys and the dream for me that it carries

When we say Royal Enfield is an emotion. This is it. This is what it means to ride a Royal Enfield. May be not to Himalayas but even if its rode around your neighbourhood, it's pure emotion.
I've had quite a few bikes from the age of 16 had a break from them when I had kids etc , got back into it about 27 years ago I'm coming up to 74 , I've been riding a B M W K75c for 16 years , just downsized to a 350cc Royal Enfield Meteor made up with it , should have bought one years ago , love Royal Enfield. 😊
I have never seen any video on CZcams or a film that justifies bikers soul. Extraordinary cinematography, sound work , quality, narration and more importantly presentation. Which made us ride till the everest base camp. The way this video ended speaks the true emotions of every bikers. Hats off to the team working behind the video 🙂✨

To be very honest, RE sells in India because of emotions and attachments and this video has done justice by capturing those emotions that run through our minds. A bike is not just a mode of transportation for an Indian family, it's so much more. Loved the video.

I am fascinated with Royal Enfield from my childhood, when I saw a Bengali Movie 'Saptapadi'. I couldn't understand that movie at that very early age, only one thing... a sound 'dig-dig-dig' in my heart alongwith a picture of a bike going through a road settled in my mind forever and that is Royal Enfield. (Sorry, I never used to the short version RE... because it sounds Royal to reciting the name 'Royal Enfield' with a 'dig-dig-dig' in my heart.) That was the love at first sight and I could not get out of it till this day, reaching at my 50s. Sadly, I couldn't take my Royal love to home because I couldn't afford it. It is still haunting my dreams, still my eyes fill up when I think of her, the Royal Enfield, feeling that it might be my lifetime untouched dream of getting a Royal and riding it to the end of my life's journey.

The greatest experience of my life was riding to Everest Base Camp in 2017 when the road was brand new. We were lucky to have clear weather at Base Camp too... We stayed in Rongbuk guesthouse then rode to the end of the road and took the tour bus to Base Camp viewpoint about 2 or 3 miles further on.
Originally the plan was to ride in from Kathmandu, but due to the earthquake in 2015 the plans had to be changed to ride in from Lhasa on rented motorcycles which were Zuumav 350cc twin cylinder bikes (Chinese). We had a Chinese lead rider and 2 Tibetan guides with our group.
I am a fan of himalayan since its launch date.... Even i don't have enough money to buy..😅😅... But this is the best video of himalayan and the mighty Himalaya i have ever watched...😊😊😇

What a beautiful and inspiring journey and movie. Both, the route and the people involved are uplifting to watch from "the bubble" we are in.
I never had a motorcycle but wanted one and now the urge is growing more and more. I am 61 now and I watched youtube to find a bike that attracts me and I found it - the Himalayan. What I like with it is the old school look of it, the simplicity and last but not least, the people I saw riding it on youtube, including you guys! I live in Germany and another fascination is the ancient Silk Road leading through all the beautiful countries.
I have to do a bike license 1st, so there is some road ahead before being able to ride the Himalayan, but I will get there... promise ;-)

My wife and I went to Rongbuk from Lhasa in Nov 2019, but we had poor weather and whilst standing at the very same view point as you guys, we saw lots of clouds :(
We stayed at the monastery all day waiting for a break, but it never came, so we had to return to Tingri and a warm bed.

@@rohithjogi4596 Well i am using BS4 Himalayan from 1 yr till now no issues bike is designed no nicely. Bs3 had lot of issues which is completely solved in bs4 model. Make sure you buy BS4 second hand.

Oh wow, this was so great. I just started learning more and more about RE and this came up in my recommendations. What a wonderful documentary. Congrats to RE and Big Monkey Studios for all of their hard work to cover this. These sort of documentaries are really really difficult to make and editing all of that footage down to 36 minutes is a massive undertaking. I'm so impressed that this wonderful story came out of all of these efforts. Kudos. And congrats to all of the riders who pushed and pushed. Such an inspiration. I hope my first motorcycle is an RE.
