- This Poetry Thursday episode, devoted to the poetry of CATS, came from a conversation with my good friend, Greg, @anotherbibliophilereads , who said that he would love to hear some poetry about cats. Greg frequently features his beautiful rescue cats in his videos, so I am happy to oblige his request. Additionally, I'd also like to give a shout-out to David @davidnovakreadspoetry , who is also frequently visited by his many rescue cats in his videos.

That Sylvia Plath poem is extremely descriptive! Each poet is so distinctive in style. I love the cat names, and the cat lessons!
This was a fun little project. I had a lot more poetry, but I’ll do another episode down the road, I think. 😊

I loved this so much. I have 2 cats, but I wish I could have 11 😊 I'm also a volunteer at a cat rescue. My cats have 3 names. Emma is also Emmuling and Musli. Mario is also Marius and Mr. Man. I'm quite sure they also have their secret names.

You've got me thinking about species in poetry now, and I'm reminded of a couple favorites. Tarantulas on the Lifebuoy by Thomas Lux. Also, An Infinite Number of Monkeys by Ronald Koertge. 😊
