A special district in the heart of Paris, the Marais is an unmissable district for visiters to the capital. The area has long been a beacon for immigrants and famous for its liberal attitude, it's now a favourite spot for the LGBTQ community. Yet amid this hive of activity, the Marais is also home to the Paris Archives, housing treasures such as the will of famed French writer Victor Hugo. FRANCE 24 takes you on a special tour.

Old historical area and stuff could became chic and nice! Love all the preservation in France. Appreciated and enjoy each details very much! Miss Paris! Schedule time to visit again! 😍🤗
Quite an evolution from mere survival to designing an interest in learned textual calligraphic documents.
I can't yet be sure about which of these is most important.
I did once live upon the streets of Paris, for many years,
and did after being certain of securing locations to find food
found myself drawn towards their museums and art.
Even as a homeless man the allure to such constructs was overwhelming.
It is quite a great city, and remains one not shy of its visual and oral demonstrations.
My ancestors that were hugenots fled The Marais for south Africa Cotsenburg is named after them in the Cape .Dirk Coetsee joined the VoC and settled in the Cape of good hope .he was the 'governor'of Stellenbosch and millitary general
I’m in Paris right now. I plan to go tomorrow
I hope France24 remembered to give the musician Yann Tiersen credit ($$...even) for their "creative borrowing" of his very recognizable music (at 0:00-0:09).

Two kinds of Paris. The "Touristy Paris" that they want you to see and the "real Paris".
« The real paris » blablabla
The people I’ve met who ended staying in Paris after a trip, to live, are the people who discovered the real Paris life, and not only the touristy Paris
Both exist, both should be experienced and appreciated for what they are. No need to try and create more division.
A building is not gay or straight.
And it smells like pee at every other turn, so chic and fragrant...
hahahaha I know. I went there for one day when My family went to Lisbon with me. Hot as hell, métro stopped working, smells like pee. I loved Lisbon though.
The gayest district
I got mugged in Le Marais. A real Paris experience. 🥲
Did it happen in the daytime or night?
Sounds fun
