My wife and I have been to Paris twice but never visited the Marais. Personally I didn’t find a bad patisserie shop in Paris ( we stopped in almost everyone we came across.) Some may be better but their all good! I enjoyed the video on the Marais and when we go back we’ll need to spend most of our time there. I don’t think I can afford taking my wife down the street of shops where you started your tour. It would take all day to go down one side and a lot of money! Yes I’m only at #11 but I’ll keep watching, I really enjoy them. Ps it’s championship week on espn to get into the ncaa tournament. I’m a big IU fan and I hope they get in.

Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! The Marais is very high on my list of favorite Paris neighborhoods. I may have said it on the video, but I tend to be there when I’m not busy with other things. Thanks for the comment and I hope you continue to through the episodes. 👍🏻

The templars were called so because their mission was to guard the temple in Jerusalem, and escort convoys to Israel.

It was on rue du Pont Louis Phillips that I met, totally by chance, the Magnum photographer Peter Turnley. He was walking back from lunch at Brasserie de L’Isle Saint-Louis after his citizenship ceremony. What a wonderful chance encounter!

    Hello From Los Angeles,
I'm not Jewish, and Borek is not a Jewish food. It is in fact an Armenian food.
It is traditionally a savory filled dough. Cheese or meat fillings. It can also be made with Phillo dough. I make it all the time, being an Armenian in nationality! BTW, I just recently found you here and am taking copious amount of notes since I'll be in Paris and beyond within the next few days. Thank You, French Frye in Paris!!!

Re the borek at Sacha Finkelsztajn: the first time I ever had borek was in Turkey. Wikipedia says it's Anatolian in origin -- which figures. I think it's more a Middle Eastern thing than a Jewish thing. Absolutely delicious either way ;-)

Most if not all of those meringues are named after people like 'sans culottes'... les marveilleuse and les incroyables both refer to subcultures of the time, mostly aristocratic dandy types, extreme dandies really....

For being a tour guide in living there your French is horrible you're mispronouncing so many streets and the names of shops.
