    Keelan with the loose screws. What you can do use a match broken off, place it into the hole then replace the screw. As simple as that. Cheers Graeme.

    I always travel with a tube of silicone seal, if your have nothing else, put a little on the ends of bolt's to stop them rattling lose, works for car, 4x4, trucks, also TV hanging on walls, every body has this problem people tie them to the wall or take them off, also liquid nails is a good thing to have, # bunnings, great vid as we all have something that goes wrong, cheers 🍻 👏

    Duing covid I undid every screw inside our van and put a dob of wood glue on each screw.
    Shower door locks I put lock tight on the screws.
    Makes it corrugation proof to a large degree.

    Hey guys not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet but your struts in your cupboards are installed upside down, the piston rod should be facing down to keep the seal lubricated should just be a couple of clips and turn them around. Same thing in our ocean breeze caravan.

    You guys are so lucky. Definitely be looking at Urban for our next van. Bought a brand new van from Bunbury Avan last year, worse customer service after sale. The van flooded due to pipes not being sealed up. The laminate is pealing off the cupboards. At purchase we were told that our local caravan place can fix any issues. When I called them up they wanted us to drive 500km to them to get it fixed. As they don’t use our local guy. So ended up paying for the repairs myself on a 4month old van.

    • @SarahandKeelanTravels
      @SarahandKeelanTravels  Před 2 lety +1

We had a similar experience with our first new van! We know exactly how you feel and feel very sorry for you it’s such a horrible way to feel like you have been ripped off! Let us know if you ever want more details on an urban, we can put you in contact with the right people! Thanks

    Threaded metal inserts into wood are the go. You can get them from joinery shops. They're cheap as well. You could use Loktite then, using bolts into the metal threads🇦🇺

    Vibration can bring down a skyscraper, so take it seriously. I agree with all of the helpful comments already made. If you are doing a lot of teeth chattering corrugations, it pays to spend just 20 mins under the van, and tow vehicle, every now and then with a torque wrench just making sure that your substrate is secure. It is an easy job with the clearance that you have got. If it is all OK, all your problems will be cosmetic. Good work and good luck.

    Tv should always be placed on the bed when travelling, especially if traveling off-road. With the awning screw typically it’s because it wasn’t tightened properly when last stowed. To say it’s a problem with the van is disappointing as both these issues I would say is user error.

      Yeah that’s not so much Urban’s fault though, that day on the beach was howling and to meet gas regulations you need to have vents! It’s a tough one that!

      @@SarahandKeelanTravels A design change is needed then brother, My pop up camper van i had to have installed a breather in the Roof to allow gases to escape , maybe a better option than in the canvas where it currently is, It's all RnD at this stage so all feedback and a modification just might save it happening to someone else in the same situation ( 1 in a Million chance lmao ) Stay Safe and Safe Travels you two

    Why do you travel with your rear caravan legs facing backwards, looks like it would effect your departure angle?

    • @SarahandKeelanTravels
      @SarahandKeelanTravels  Před 2 lety

      The front step actually fowls on the leg but we can remove the leg as there is no secure bolt on the back legs mean it’s out in 1 second flat! That was designed like that to combat exactly the issue of departed

      In our experience, Yeah you would expect that. Living on the road full time We speak to owners of every caravan under the sun. You would be surprised how many superficial issues people have with “the best reputation vans” the issue we have had have been with the window screw thing, and also the awning nut fell out. The windows and awning is the same product all vans in that 100k+ price range use. Superficial stuff happens, australia is a tough climate to be a caravan in haha 😂 especially when the owner dosnt drop his tyres enough

    • @SarahandKeelanTravels
      @SarahandKeelanTravels  Před 2 lety +1

      I can tell you that every van on the market will have superficial issues. We know this because we speak to people every day with “the best” vans, and literally every van on the market! including spinifex vans and they have had some sort of superficial issues like we have. Australia is harsh. Obviously the quality vans hold up a lot better and the issues are only superficial like we have but to say they won’t have any issues at all is false. Especially because most of vans use the exact same appliances and bolt ons such as awnings windows, fridges and cook tops.
