He's far from right about the grand national and thats the debate not banning racing which is rather like greyhound racing anyway-only the best are kept and thats understandable but behind the scenes it's cruel and the public wouldn't stand for it. no animal should be used for entertainment - period. animals are on this earth to hopefully live as they are meant to live - in their natural habitat, with no stress or bullying or working to death. animals should be free to roam not taken to a field where 1000s of snobbish people are screaming at them.
Racehorses are treating better than the stable lads n lassie's who look after them. The horses are bred to run and love 2 run loose in a field. Belive me if a horse doesn't want to race it will refuse it happens a lot.

Then when horses are about to win and are well clear, why do the jockeys ease them towards the line? When the horses appear lame, and look incapable of finishing the race, why do the jockeys pull them up?
