I genuinely love your channel ! Iâve been on a book tube binge lately and youâre one of my favorites to watch. I plan on starting mine soon, and I just love how simple you keep it and your reading choices are inspiring me to open up to other genres. Youâre making me more excited to start my channel ! Keep going girl đ©·đ±
Yay! Thank you! Iâm so glad youâre here and thank you for your support.. let me go ahead and subscribe! I canât wait to see your first video!!
Iâm so happy you finished Assassinâs Apprentice. The loneliness in that book was so palpableâŠ
Youâre thinking about âThe Witâ!
Iâm one chapter into Royal Assassin but Iâm trying to slow down and pace myself on this series because thereâs only so many books and theyâre supposed to get better and better.
Yes yes the Wit lol thatâs what I was thinking. Girl I loved it so much. You were right.
you're almost at 1,000 subscribers D I am happy for you
Lol thank you Anthony for your support!! Yep we almost there!
That is so funny that people thought you were lying about reading. đWhen I first started my current job my director asked me what were my hobbies and I told him reading and that I have a virtual bookclub and he was SHOCKED!!! And of course he was YT. So that did not surprise me at all. đđđ
You know how people can be in Memphis, a little skeptical of others. đđ..
@@jadeddiamonds9983 most definitely đ
Such amazing heavy books! Caste is a book Iâve been purposely delaying because Iâve heard so many times and Iâm scared as hell. But you have inspired me to rip off the band aid and just do it and feel all the feels đ
I can also relate to having a âboringâ personality because I love to read and I take pride in that. Iâve literally had my ppl tell me âthatâs white people activitiesâ like whaaat? Lol
We gotta stop thinking there is just one kind of Black person and open our mind, eyes and world to whatâs around us so we donât think and make ignorant comments as such.
Again love your content so much Diamond đ
I absolutely agree with everything you said here. It each itâs own for sure. All I can continue to do is show up as me and hope for the best. Girl snatch that band aid, itâs tough but rewarding for sure. This months reading is most definitely off to a fun and light start which makes Februaryâs books seem like ages ago.
It's interesting because I find a lot of booktubers have said they liked how "real" the story of "Seven Days in June" was. And I also felt as if the portrayal of the black man was harmful. And I think it is so interesting that this was the "real" book--and the portrayal of black romance being this.
Girl they are lying! How likely is it that two people will find each other after such a tumultuous event? Iâm going to call it what it is, a fairytale, which is totally fine. I love Tia Williams so itâs not slight to her, but those characters, the banter between them, even Evaâs mom on some occasions was all too unbelievable to me. So ârealâ absolutely not lol but entertaining yes.
Smh girl anyone that talks to you for 5 minutes should be able to perceive you are well read smh. Diamond these are so heavy. I finished Kindred yesterday and can candidly say I know I can't read intense trauma often. I'm too squeamish and tender hearted. I really appreciate your recs and notes of trigger warnings. Song of Soloman sounds really good, but I'm going to wait a bit before I pick it up.
Omg I put Kindred in my Libby for Audio. I guess I need to go ahead and return that. Lol ikr, people will look you in your face and say the darnest things. Youâre welcome!! Song of Solomon wasnât all bad, not like Beloved at all, it was heavy at times but more reflective I would say.
@jadeddiamonds9983 thank you for letting me know. Yes, Kindred had me back in the 1819, and the writing was so real. It was heartbreaking, graphic- just raw. I don't think I've ever seen the N word so much in one book in my life. Octavia Butler is an excellent writer, but I can't read it again. She'll put you right on the plantation. I think the only reason I finished it was because I hoped for a change every time she was drawn back in time. Change is so slow đ
What?! What's wrong with people?! Why would you lie about reading? đ That makes no sense! I'm glad you've found a book community where you can talk to us about books!
Ikr, and Iâm surely glad as well! đ
