- The penultimate round of the 2023 UCI Marathon World Cup went down in spectacular style at the UCI Mountain Bike World Series Festival Haute-Savoie today!
Racers took to Morzine-Avoriaz’s world-famous trails in the Haute-Savoie region to tackle a 100km course that featured a savage 4000 metres of climbing, including the sort of technical terrain that is synonymous with the Portes du Soleil region!

The UCI Mountain Bike World Series unites mountain bike’s major formats under a single brand for the first time. The new UCI Mountain Bike World Series includes the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup for Cross-country Olympic (XCO), Cross-country Short Track (XCC), Cross-country Marathon (XCM), Downhill (DHI), Enduro (EDR) and E-enduro (E-EDR).

The XC Marathon racers have had a pretty raw deal with their coverage, following on from the pathetic World Champs coverage.....We know Marathon isn't easy to cover, but this isn't good enough.
A shame the highlights are so short.

Where are the technical parts of the race ? Best single tracks and toughest ascents ? Only one video for a marathon seems a bit short while dozen are published for XCO and cie…
Giving the number for descent for the Marathon race? It's more appropriate for the downhill race. It says nothing about the course. Who is making these highlights?
Isn't it exactly the same ascent and descent with start and finish at the same place?
The course had over 4000m of climbing. I'm sorry but the coverage is very unprofessional and very unfair to the athletes and the teams who where hoping for good exposure. The demands of the tracks and the competition got insanely high this year. The coverage though is done by people who obviously have very little idea about the sport. I expected more from discovery/eurosport. 😑
Wow I thought that EWS and DH highlights were S#@T ...100k and saw 13m of it.
I think you spent too much time on the map, I could almost make out the difference in colors.
Terrible highlights and STILL no race coverage from the Enduro WC yeterday. Absolute garbage.
