I really thought they were setting up Ripper as a finalist when we had the first 4 episodes out, he really had that main character energy going over him
Something I find interesting about Wayne winning is that they sorta foreshadowed it with Owen's cameo since the both of them didn't need to be very fit or intelligent, super invested in the challenges, or employ dirty tactics to get far, all they did was play the game fair and make friends with the rest of their respective casts which let them float under the radar for most of their seasons. Also I'm glad he won since the Prileb plot line was an absolute dumpster fire and Julia wasn't nearly as interesting without MK (I like them as a ship too). Wayne probably could've lost Raj a little earlier so that his independence plot would have more time to build up (we can blame Prileb for taking the screentime), but overall I think he was the most deserving to win of the three since him and Raj carried it once all of the other interesting people left. It really is baffling with how the season nosedived in quality after Zee's secret reveal, since I could've put the season in the higher half of the total seasons overall with the first couple episodes, but now it's sorta just floating above AS and PI for me (and does give heavy flashbacks to WT shafting everyone except for Heather and Alejandro). If they ever do make a season 3 then I seriously hope that they either drop Priya/Caleb or just boot them extremely early.
Yeah, if I had to rank all the seasons now, it'd go: 1. Ridonculous Race 2. Action 3. Island 4. ROTI 5. World Tour 6. Reboot S1 7. Reboot S2 8. Pahkitew 9. All-Stars
I agree with you lol. Episodes 1-7 were fantastic(even if some eliminations were questionable). But episode 8-13…Man I don’t know how they fumbled the bag so hard, episode 10-12 are all genuinely all A.S level. Overall mid season
I definitely think the biggest problem with the second half of this season was the screen time split, most of the episodes in the first season and the early second season had lots of focus on our eliminated contestants, but the fact the second half shoved so much Priyleb down our throats made it so everyone after Zee’s elimination felt like a side character and when you don’t get a lot of attention in the episode you get eliminated in you just feel expendable, also Julia in the second half was really dumb like imagine if All Stars made every fall for Alejandro over and over again despite knowing that he can’t be trusted that would’ve been annoying every other returning villain lost their power when they came back but Julia kept her power which just makes everyone else feel dumb when they interact with her also absolutely agree with Chase ad Bowie I’m glad Bowie didn’t make it farther so he could go out like an icon instead being a random boot cuz they can’t get rid of Priya for some reason like she is a HUGE threat but being a threat only matters if you’re Axel ig another thing is I’m honestly glad that we had to wait longer to get all 5 episodes of the season at the same time cuz we would have been left with our super weird final five were we could piece together most of the finale and the only mystery was which Hockey Bro will make the finals that probably wouldn’t have been a mystery as it was leak was Priya isn’t making the finale again and there is no way both Hockey Bros are making it so we would’ve had: Caleb, Julia, Hockey Bro as our finale.
I think priya quitting would've been a good plotline for her character in this season, like write a plot that makes her realize her relationship with her parents is quite abusive (maybe via Millie talking to her) and after realization she quits, I think THAT is the only interesting thing they could've don't with Priya, but they didn't, they just gave her the win for some reason
These Last Few Episodes Have Honestly Been a Big Kick To My Balls With a Lot Of Weird Decisions Made and Wasted Potential For the Character I Thought Was Going To Win (Damien). But Overall,I Still Had Fun With This Season. Even If It Didn’t Go the Way I Wanted It To,the Journey Was Still Great. It Did Degrade Some Of the Characters,But It Was Still Entertaining At the End Of the Day.And That’s What I Like About the Reboot:It’s Never Slow
While I do agree that both Raj and Wayne carried the season’s second half, I still feel like they should’ve eliminated Raj much earlier. Think about it, Raj has already had individual development with Bowie in season 1, while Wayne has really nothing that doesn’t involve Raj. They don’t need to do anything crazy that changes his personality or stops him from being funny. Just, give him something new to do. Take for example in episode 6 of this season when Raj partners with Bowie, Wayne is clearly seen struggling to find someone else to partner up with, and just ends up with Julia because no one else picked her. This possibly could’ve been a hint that Wayne isn’t the best at making friends. The writers should have a small plot line of Wayne having to struggle to find someone else to bond with after Raj’s elimination. (We kind of got that in episode 12, but it was only for like 1 episode, and then got shafted pretty quickly for more Preleb drama)
These two seriously need more time apart. It is crazy that they ended up lasting so damn long with each other when I could have sworn they were going to have Wayne and Raj apart to create conflict this time around.
I just finished the video and I agree with you with majority of your points. Like Prileb being terrible. The second half of the season being really weak while the first half was really strong. Caleb being very inconsistent and lack of comedy in the final 6. maybe I missed it but the fact that Priya gets worked up over the little things with Caleb is really really tiring. The plot line should have ended in episode 10 and Priya gets out that episode instead of Damien due to being a threat. Also what makes Damien’s elimination more bull is the reason Wayne and Raj kept Priya over him. It’s absurd, that MK, Damien, and Raj. Who were all fan favorites and were good winners were booted back to back for the Prileb plot to last even longer then it should have. I think the season is good but the last few episodes were a total disappointment(other than the finale, that episode was great). So overall Priya ruined the second half of the season for me which is a bummer. But it is what it is.
Caleb’s character writing is so inconsistent like 😅 the writers had no idea what they wanted him to be. Sometimes he is smart enough to not join MK and Julia and other times he decides to ally with Julia alone. His bad voice acting does not help at all. Easily my least favorite character of this entire cast.
His voice actor wasn't at fault I feel, was more of the way he had to keep doing the same annoying fodder character voice the whole season. Like Staci, almost. He needed to tone it down a little bit.
im ridiculously late to this video but hard agree on pretty much everything what's crazy to me is that a lot of the elimination order issues could've been fixed if they switched some characters around; Switch Millie with Priya, Julia and MK, potentially Wayne and Raj since they for some reason gave Raj a lot of what ended up being red-herrings, then adjust the plot accordingly. Then Priya and Julia wouldn't have overstayed her welcome, Millie could get through to final 4 on her own, and MK could be the main villain. It would also fix some plot holes like Damien getting his idol stolen for no reason, since at least if MK did it she already showed us skills to back it up, for example
I think most people count 2023 as Gen 4 becuase RR has contestants from previous gens and not an all new cast. I think technically RR spinoff would just be Gen 1 of its own series
I enjoyed this season more or less, its definitely better than the first reboot season. But if they'd make a season three, I dont know what they could do with most of these characters.
I could go into what I'd do someday, but in short I think you could squeeze another season out of some of these guys and others could be left behind. Maybe doing another AS type season is the way to go, with characters from every gen facing off. Of the new gen characters, I'd say you could still farm stuff out of Lauren, Chase, Emily, Julia, MK, Ripper, Axel, Damien and Zee, which isn't too bad of a rundown.
Honestly, I'd have no problems with Damien's elimination if his little rivalry with Julia was set up earlier into the season, but because it isn't, i doesn't REALLY make sense as to why Julia, Wayne and Raj all voted for him, when Priya was. RIGHT THERE WITHOUT IMMUNITY...
Yeah the second half wasn't as enjoyable to watch as the first half to me, so i agree with most of your points. There's no excuse for them to drag out the Priya and Caleb plotline for 12 EPISODES, seriously wtf. It really should've ended it in ep 9 imo. But nooooo let's just get rid of the more interesting characters like MK,Raj, and Damien just so we could get these two "lovebirds" more screentime. Such a messy ass couple and it ruins both characters for me which is a shame because I enjoyed Priya in season 1. (I didn't care for Caleb tho and I still don't care about him now). Worst plotline ever. I don't even wanna talk about Damien's elimination. Easily TDAS Heather but worse. Its one of those "tell, don't show" type of scenes and that's my biggest problem with this season in general tbh. Such an easy pick for a finalist/winner. How they fumbled so hard. Priya should've been eliminated earlier. Julia's one of my favorite characters of the reboot but even I think she was a little too OP at times. I'm glad she didn't win tho because that would've not sit right with me. I wished they would've kept MK for a little longer to balance out Julia or at least let MK do most of the plotting. As for the other characters, I like most of them(except for Nichelle and Millie's just eh) Overall, I still think the season was solid enough, it's just the second half that kinda drags it down for me for its questionable writing choices.

Heather has flaws. Heather got her comeuppance. Heather didn't place 4th and then 3rd back to back. Heather had a rise and fall and was shown doing more than just being bad. While Julia is trusted by everyone for no reason in S2 just to make her seem more threatening, Heather is not. While Julia's idol play is completely hidden from the viewers, Heather's is not and we get to see how she performs so there are no asspulls. yeah they really fumbled the bag in the second half, it was on track to be my favourite season after revenge and then the second half happened. now it's just in between island and pahkitew. i hope we don't see a third season with just this cast because there's very limited winner choices now and the villain could only be, like, chase or something stupid like that nice caleb impression btw
on praleb, td writers have sucked at romance for ages. the only ships i've enjoyed since world tour are samkota and rajbow (scottney didn't get together so they don't count and neither do the goths)
Episode 2 - Millie BS plotline starts in this episode, neked Ripper covered in butter gave me trauma (/hj) and the interesting cheating plotline hasn't happened yet so it feels pointless in the grand scheme of the season since Emma and Millie get most of the important moments but they are eliminated shortly after. Episode 3 - Okay maybe I'm wrong about this one cause the cheating plotline is pretty immaculate but Ripper traumatized me again in this episode (he killed all my family and burned my crops), Millie has a really unsatisfying elimination/send-off, and characters like Axel, Caleb, and Nichelle kinda disappointed me. Episode 4 - Cool challenge but Emma and Priya were both annoying this ep. Overall I think I just hate the rat faces lmao. Maybe I'm focusing too much on the negative of the early episodes. I think pretty much all of them were total misses and fumbles besides Damien. Also, Julia was my favorite character by far this season despite her flaws of being overpowered, so I like the later episodes due to that even if Caleb and Priya are UGH.
@@cashmere8059 I hate Rat Face too. They’re bringing love, don’t let them get away! I still loved Damien and Axel, and I can usually tolerate one or two bad subplots in a relatively great episode, so that’s why I think those episodes are still great regardless. I guess overall this season is just super flawed.
Hot take: I like Damien’s elimination. It supposed to make you unsatisfied and pissed off on the results. Kinda like dawns elimination. It’s also is built up pretty good. It want BS like LeShwanas. In regards to Julia being the good or all of them sucking?
@@voiceunderthecovers julia being the good, caleb being the bad (more the boring/mediocre ), and Priya being the ugly
yeah they really fumbled the bag in the second half, it was on track to be my favourite season after revenge and then the second half happened. now it's just in between island and pahkitew.
i hope we don't see a third season with just this cast because there's very limited winner choices now and the villain could only be, like, chase or something stupid like that
nice caleb impression btw
on praleb, td writers have sucked at romance for ages. the only ships i've enjoyed since world tour are samkota and rajbow (scottney didn't get together so they don't count and neither do the goths)
Haha, thanks for the compliment, impressions are my thing so I can do most TD characters. Surprised Island is ranked so low for you.
Scottney did get together, and the goths have been a couple for over three years.. so... Also Ryan and Stephanie and Nemma were great! @@yimmyb1459
This is weird because episodes 2-4 are my least favorite probably
Seriously? Why?
I’m a huge fan of Priya, but I do respect your opinion on why you hate her so I don’t have a major issue
Hate is a strong word. I dislike her involvement in this season.
What’s wrong with Zees soda gag?
I thought that was gonna be his entire personality, but luckily it wasn’t.
Hot take: I like Damien’s elimination. It supposed to make you unsatisfied and pissed off on the results. Kinda like dawns elimination. It’s also is built up pretty good. It want BS like LeShwanas. So seeing the people hate the elimination showed that the writers did something right. It also sets up Priya’s elimination pretty good
Yeah but Dawn's is built up well, makes sense and feels like Scott worked for it. Julia just has the idol.
First to comment surely not
Third again?!
